Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Return of Judah is a story of humanity that is often detached from the perception of biblical characters. Judah, the fourth son of Jacob, is disgruntled by the chaotic nature of his household and so decided to leave his home for greener pastures with his Adullamite friend Hirah. Unknown to him, he is the carrier of the messianic seed which must be preserved till the lawgiver, Yeshua, is born. His friend, Hirah, takes him deep into the heathen hinterlands of Canaan, and he ends up marrying Bathshua, a native of Canaan, which was taboo to his family as God's chosen people. One error leads to another, and he gets entangled in an incestuous affair with his daughter-in-law, Tamar. Yet by providence, God's guiding arm was working behind the scenes to redeem him despite his circumstance. He admits his guilt of treating Tamar unfairly by denying her the right of marrying Shelar. The one truth he managed to tell opens the door to his redemption and restoration. Judah regains his honour and love from his estranged parents and brethren.

Book excerpt: If Jesus is a Jew, why is there a wedge between Christianity and Judaism? If Jews and Christians both believe in the same God, why is there such division? Why is history littered with deathly accounts of this division, from the early Jewish persecution of Christians to the Crusades' slaughtering of Jews? The Lion of Judah unpacks the roots of this division, showing how jealousy, theology, the law, and the integration of Gentile believers into what was once a predominantly Jewish early church contributed to the schism. It then goes on to reveal how Jesus magnificently fulfilled every word in the Bible. Readers will discover why the Lion of Judah is the rightful Lord and King of all people--Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, atheists, and the rest of creation. This book will help Christians understand the history of Christianity and Judaism, get into greater alignment with God's plan of redemption, be better equipped to share the gospel with Jewish people, and become more sensitive to and appreciative of their Hebraic heritage.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unique, Fascinating Look at How God's Promises to Israel Apply to Today We read throughout the Bible about God blessing his people, but most of us don't realize that these blessings are still meant for today--and for us. In this accessible study, pastor and international leader Paul Thangiah connects ancient biblical texts to modern-day life. Exploring Jacob's final blessings over his twelve sons in Genesis and Moses' parting blessings to the twelve tribes in Deuteronomy, Thangiah sheds light on the history of those on whom these blessings were bestowed. With keen insight, he examines the background of each of Jacob's sons, the significance of each name and personal situation, and what the Bible says about his descendants. Then, he shows how each of the twelve tribes saw the fulfillment of both Jacob's and Moses' prophetic blessings. Yet these blessings didn't cease at the end of the Old Testament, says Thangiah, revealing how they were powerfully and ultimately fulfilled in Jesus. You will be encouraged and inspired to discover how God's promises to his people extend beyond Israel to include all who've been grafted in through Christ--and how you can still enjoy these prophetic blessings today.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This popular textbook regards the Pentateuch as a literary whole, with a single theme that binds it together. The overarching theme is the partial fulfilment of the promises to the patriarchs. Though the method of the book is holistic, the origin and growth of the theme is also explored using the methods of traditional source analysis. An important chapter explores the theological function of the Pentateuch both in the community for which the Pentateuch was first composed and in our own time. For this second, enlarged edition, the author has written an Epilogue reassessing the theme of the Pentateuch from a more current postmodern perspective.

Book excerpt: Ever wish someone could give you a big handle on the entire Bible without years of study? Well, this book not only promises to give you that big handle—it will deliver on the promise. You should be asking, how is this possible? The Bible is one story told over and over again, with many variations on the same theme. This structure is the Bible’s DNA. This basic seven-point pattern is the heartbeat of the Creation. It is the cycle of a human day and a human life. It is the pattern of the Tabernacle. It is the process of agriculture. It undergirds the speeches and Laws of God. It orders the rise and fall of nations and empires. It is also the structure of our worship. It is the rhythm of Christ, and it will open the Bible for you like never before.
