A great power from eons ago has arisen to corrupt the world. Trained from childhood by monks a young woman must journey across hostile land to the west. She is joined by a disparate group from many walks of life that will help her defend against powerful forces that would see to her undoing, including An invincible Shadow Dancer. Tara - raised by monks and trained from early childhood, her task is to carry that knowledge to a powerful wizard in the west. Reed - a stranded star traveler. He lends his training and ability, along with his star aged laser sword, to Tara’s quest. Luggo - Luggosino Mitrin Lars Ulfstag Omsnerros Olfsen Dar. A giant from the north. They find him besotted with drink and befriend him. He is more clever than his size would have you believe. Steph - Stefano Nikoliavich Metros de Santos Campari de Dupont An ancient warrior from the time before. His abilities and knowledge transcend hundreds of years. Many others will either aid or hinder her perilous journey. Reviews: ***** Whoa, slow down there, Turbo! A sexy babe with muscles, training, and ability. A guy with a laser sword, a giant, ancient warriors. This has it all. You did it again, dude. What a great story. ·· J.D. King ***** Strong start. OMG, love the cover! The description in the book of the girl and her outfit (and why it's so scanty) is believable and impressive. If I hadn't seen the cover pic, I think I would have pictured the same girl. ·· Anymous (Goodreads) ***** ...Overall, I really liked this book, though I can only make it through one or two battle scenes in a single sitting (probably why it took me a while to read the story). The characters are charismatic and their banter is humorous. I enjoyed the magical elements and the hints at a greater history. ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads The fight scenes are well-described with great details – this is definitely R.L. Kiser’s strength. No reader would complain that he or she couldn't imagine the scenes vividly. Nonetheless, there are times when things are a little too convenient in the plot department. Character development is solid, although not the strongest compared to some of Kiser’s books that I've read before. Yet it’s all justifiable as it’s such a wild adventure. Overall, it is a book that would satisfy fantasy and adventure fans alike – it’s action-packed and a fast read. That said, The Prophecy of Tara is strictly for mature adults due to some parts of the story that are not suited for younger readers. ··Lit Amri for Readers’ Favorite

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A groundbreaking English translation of a key tantric text in the history of Indo-Tibetan Buddhism. This volume contains an English translation of the “root text” of the Tara-mula-kalpa, a scripture-ritual compendium that captures an important Buddhist tantric tradition in mid-formation. In this regard it is utterly unique and unlike any other text in the Buddhist canon. Its contents document the emergence of the quintessential female Buddha Tara in seventh-century India. As her popularity grew, her cult spread throughout Southeast Asia, as well as Tibet, where she became revered as the “Mother” of the Tibetan people. Tara is worshiped for a variety of reasons, from health and long life, to wealth, protection from enemies, and ultimately, the mind of enlightenment. Her presence pervades the evolution of Buddhism in Tibet, including within royal circles, as well as mentor and guide to many important Buddhist scholars, practitioners, and lineage holders.

Book excerpt: Angi Talismann thought her life was firmly on track. She was the Director of an Emergency Department of a large teaching hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. But her destiny was elsewhere. Within days she was diagnosed with cancer and her grandmother was attacked by an international thief who was after a family heirloom, a medallion. Prior to her death, her grandmother had insisted that if anything ever happened to her, Angi must contact an old acquaintance in the United States regarding the medallion. This Boston contact was a descendant of a select group of 17th century families who immigrated from Britain to North America in the 1600s. What little Angi remembered was that members of this chosen group were sworn to protect something until the "Coming Times." Her grandmother's death was the chilling signal of the beginning of such times. Heading to the United States, Angi agonized over her role in revealing a family secret which had been held sacred for generations. In Boston, she meets three descendants of this secret society, of which she was also a member. From there she must travel on to Ireland and Scotland to search for answers to a 300 year old mystery. There she plunges into a Celtic world of mythology and ancient history for which she is ill prepared. Nothing in her professional life had prepared her for this. The unfolding journey creates friends of strangers as they try to stay ahead of a killer who knows more about the historical and material value of the medallion than they do and will stop at nothing to gain its power. As they travel, the past, present and future begin to merge. About the Author Sally Robertson, born in Prince Edward Island, obtained her Bachelor and Master's degrees in Canada, and her PhD from Curtin University of Technology in Australia.
