Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are all influenced by our environment and by everything in it. It is easy for some plants to prosper and bear much fruit under certain environmental conditions, but other plants need different climatic conditions. This truth is also valid in relation to human beings. The environment you live in has a bearing on your altitude and your performance. Achievement or success in any area is a function of many factors, including your environment and prevailing circumstances. Therefore, prevailing conditions can either inhibit or enhance your performance and, subsequently, your success. However, factors such as knowledge, wisdom, skill, and attitude can override the outcome of a negative environment or circumstances. For example, gravity is a fact of life, but birds overcome gravity all the time by flapping their wings. Therefore they are able to fly for sustained periods without falling to the ground. In the same way, the application of the right combination of knowledge, skill, and determination can transform any circumstance. This book deals with six timeless mathematical principles, with strong biblical foundations to help anyone or any group transform its present state into a more desirable one.
Book Synopsis Principles of Conflict Transformation by : Pastor Dr. Mezgebu A. Tucho

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book will outline a theological transformative approach that is effective in resolving congregational conflict and has shown that, in the question of how the contemporary congregation might address conflict, the answers lie not only in the process James taught his audience in his chapter four of hus epistle but in a deeper understanding of the kind of kingdom Jesus embodied and his expectations of how its members would live with a clear sense of their own standing before God and one another. It will develop a dialogue between conflict theory and theology to create a solution that helps transform conflict into positive outcomes. Conflict transformation is a new approach to conflict resolution that attempts to describe what ought to happen in conflict more precisely. It is a step beyond conflict resolution and points toward a deep transformation in the conflicting parties, stopping the issues that trigger violence and allowing peace in relationships. Resolution focuses on the present conflict or issue and finds the solution. Transformation focuses on the people involved in the conflict and their permanent relationships with each other. Conflict transformation occurs only when true wisdom reigns among people in congregation. It agrees with Vayrynen (1991) that actor transformation is critical to transform conflict into something good and beneficial to the organization. However, unlike Vayrynen, it believes that, unless actor transformations occur, any other transformations (e.g., issue, rule, and structure) will be only temporary, and the conflict that had been controlled in the present will reemerge later on in the future unless the falsely wise members are replaced with truly wise ones.

It has been translated into several dozen languages, and it is still selling today. Carnegie formed a company, Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc., to spread his human-relations message, and he found an eager audience around the world. He appeared regularly on radio and television. He taught others how to teach his course, and he wrote two more human-relations books, The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking and How to Stop Worrying and Start Living, best sellers both. Even Carnegie's death in 1955 did not impede the spread of his ideas.
Book Synopsis Form and Transformation by : Gerry Webster
Download or read book Form and Transformation written by Gerry Webster and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1996-11-13 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection fails to explain the forms of organisms because it focuses on inheritance and survival, not on how organisms are generated. The first part of this 2007 book (by Gerry Webster) looks critically of the conceptual structure of Darwinism and describes the limitation of the theory of evolution as a comprehensive biological theory, arguing that a theory of biological form is needed to understand the structure of organisms and their transformations as revealed in taxonomy. The second part of the book (by Brian Goodwin) explores such a theory in terms of organisms as developing and transforming dynamic systems, within which gene action is to be understood. A number of specific examples, including tetrapod limb formation and Drosophila development, are used to illustrate how these hierarchically-organized dynamic fields undergo robust symmetry-breaking cascades to produce generic forms.

Book excerpt: In a world of fierce global competition and rapid technological change, traditional strategies for gaining market share and achieving efficiencies no longer yield the returns they once did. How can companies drive consumer preference and secure sustainable growth in this digital, social, and mobile age? The answer is through functional integration. Some of the world's most highly valued companies—including Amazon, Apple and Google—have harnessed this new business model to build highly interactive ecosystems of interrelated products and digital services, gaining new levels of customer engagement. Functional integration offers forward-looking brands a unique competitive edge by using transformative digital technologies to deliver high-value customer experiences, generate repeat business, and unlock lucrative new business-to-business revenue streams. Connected By Design is the first book to show business leaders and marketers exactly how to use functional integration to achieve transformative growth within any type of company. Based on R/GA's pioneering work with firms at the forefront of functional integration, Barry Wacksman and Chris Stutzman identify seven principles companies must follow in order to create and deliver new value for customers and capture new revenues. Connected By Design explains how functional integration drove the transformation of market-leading companies as diverse as Nike, General Motors, McCormick & Co., and Activision to establish authentic brand relationships with their customers, enter new categories, and develop new sources of income. With Connected by Design, any company can leverage technological disruption to redefine its mission and foster greater brand loyalty and engagement.
