However, value theory suggests that moral values are more important than attitudes, particularly when actor-observer bias, which predicts an emphasis on circumstantial explanations to personal behavior and dispositional explanations to apersonal behaviors, is considered. Vignettes, 5 personal and 5 apersonal, were given to 133 college students. Moral values added to the prediction of Behavioral Intention, especially in personal vignettes. Further, results indicated that moral values were more predictive of behavioral intention than were attitudes for moral values salient vignettes as would be predicted by the Values Priority equation, which prioritizes moral values over attitude in predicting behavioral intention.
