Book Synopsis Stones of Remembrance by : Liz Dunsdon
Download or read book Stones of Remembrance written by Liz Dunsdon and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2017-05-26 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a bell that hangs on the wall in the chemo room. Patients get to ring this bell when all their rounds of chemo are completed. They ring the bell with such glee and joy. Chemo is finished, and life can carry on. I hate that bell. I know that sounds foolish, but I really, really, really hate that bell. The doctors told me the second time my breast cancer returned that it had metastasized to my bones and lymph system and so it was incurable. I will never get to ring it unless God chooses to do a miracle. Instead I sit in the chemo room and stare at the bell and smile when others ring it. Some days I want to take the bell and throw it out the closest window, and other times it takes all I have to not go up and ring it and ring it some more. I am not sure if I would be ringing it in hope or defiance. Such foolishness, but I hate hearing that bell ring. I smile, cheer, and clap when someone else rings the bell, but inside I hurt. The bell makes me angry, and I sit and ask God why. Why not me? Why? I am sure that everyone can relate to something in their life they have wanted to do so badly but cant. It may be a foolish desire, but it is part of who we are.
Book Synopsis Dreaming with God by : Sarah Beth Marr
Download or read book Dreaming with God written by Sarah Beth Marr and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2018-02-06 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world tells us that the way to make all our dreams come true is to set our own course and strive every day. But when it's all on us, we end up feeling exhausted, frustrated, and, disappointed when things don't turn out as we'd hoped. Have you ever wondered if there was a better way? There is. God knows the desires of our hearts--he put them there. And he calls us to trust, to lean on him, and sometimes . . . to wait. Weaving together her unique perspective as a professional ballerina with profound truths drawn from Scripture and the life of faith, Sarah Beth Marr reminds us that we are not dreaming alone. If God has given us a dream, we can be sure that he will come alongside us as we work toward realizing it. Using her own story as a catalyst, Marr encourages women to surrender their plans to God, to stay in tempo with his Spirit, and to step into a deeper relationship with Christ. When they do, she says, they will be able to move confidently into the future, knowing that their dreams and God's desires are aligned in perfect harmony.

Book Synopsis Today’s Decisions by : Oladipo David
Download or read book Today’s Decisions written by Oladipo David and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God made us free moral agents, giving us the power of choice between good and evil. If He had wanted us to do what He says automatically, He would have made us as robots or puppets with no ability to think or act for ourselves. The world would have been a grand ‘show’ of puppets and the puppet master. However, He wanted us to be in His image; hence, He gave us part of His essence—the power of choice. While we have the power to make the choices we want, unfortunately, we do not have total control of the consequences. The consequences of your decisions or indecisions usually have a cascading effect. Besides the direct impact on you, the consequences could affect your children, your spouse, your extended family, your community, and ultimately your relationship with God. In the same vein, some of the ills we suffer today could have been caused by wrong decisions taken by our parents. From contemporary and biblical examples, we can see that the decisions of yesterday impact today, and today’s decisions will impact tomorrow. And apart from breathing, we do nothing more in our lives than make decisions; these cannot be left to chance. This book is a revelation that will restore, refresh, revive, and renew anyone who cares to pay attention. God bless you.
