Download or read book Your God Knows - Includes Six-Session Video Series written by Lisa Whittle and published by David C Cook. This book was released on 2023-10-03 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This powerful Bible study about God’s faithfulness explores Nahum—a rarely studied collection of prophetic poems—to remind us that God is ever-present and always working, even when we feel alone or discouraged. Throughout history, God has said to His people: “I see you. I know you. And I will make this right.” This is a crucial message for women today, as we so deeply need to rest in an all-knowing God who can handle what is happening in the world and in our lives. In Your God Knows, Bible teacher and bestselling author Lisa Whittle draws on Scripture throughout the Old and New Testaments as she helps answer six critical questions for our times: Am I forgotten? How does good come from bad? Do my desires and dreams matter? Am I generationally blessed or cursed? Will God make wrong things right? Will I be okay? This interactive, video-based companion to Lisa’s book, God Knows, addresses your most pressing questions while immersing you in the truth of God’s promises so you can know deep in your soul that a sovereign God understands your pain—and will one day make all things new. Download or read book Working at the Margins written by Frances Julia Riemer and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Working at the Margins describes and analyzes the move, from welfare rolls to paid employment, of adults who were marginalized from the mainstream by race, ethnicity, language, and economic status. Frances Julia Riemer utilizes ethnographic data gathered over two years from four workplaces that employed thirty seven former welfare recipients. She examines how the private sector accommodates these workers and their differences and how the workers themselves negotiate the barriers they experience. The book illustrates how government policies and adult-education initiatives, designed ostensibly to create opportunities, often reify existing inequalities.

Book Synopsis Walter Chatton on Future Contingents by : Jon Bornholdt
Download or read book Walter Chatton on Future Contingents written by Jon Bornholdt and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2017-02-06 with total page 550 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Walter Chatton on Future Contingents, Jon Bornholdt presents the first full-length translation, commentary, and analysis of the various attempts by Chatton (14th century C.E.) to solve the ancient problem of the status and significance of statements about the future. At issue is the danger of so-called logical determinism: if it is true now that a human will perform a given action tomorrow, is that human truly free to perform or refrain from performing that action? Bornholdt shows that Chatton constructed an original (though problematic) formal analysis that enabled him to canvass various approaches to the problem at different stages of his career, at all times showing an unusual sensitivity to the tension between formalist and metaphysical types of solution.
