How can local churches train, send, and support missionaries well? Unpacking principles from the Bible and applying them in the context of real life in a local church, this new book in the 9Marks: Building Healthy Churches series is filled with practical steps and advice for supporting missionaries, forming international partnerships, sending short-term teams, and engaging with the nations here at home. This book casts a vision for the local church as the engine of world missions—for the joy of all people and the glory of God.

Book Synopsis NASA Moon Missions Operations Manual by : Dr. David Baker
Download or read book NASA Moon Missions Operations Manual written by Dr. David Baker and published by Haynes Publishing UK. This book was released on 2019-07-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Published to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing by Apollo 11. The story of Apollo has been told many times, but most accounts stop at the first landing. This book picks up where others have left off, and describes the five post-Apollo 11 Moon landings, defined as technical developments built upon engineering excellence. It was only through the robust design adopted when aerospace contractors first designed and built the Apollo spacecraft and the Lunar Module that successive evolutions were possible, taking lunar-landing operations far beyond what had first been envisaged. This book is not intended to tell the full story of each mission, but rather to describe the technical development of spacecraft and equipment necessary to grow the capability from a single EVA (‘moonwalk’) of less than three hours, to advanced missions where astronauts spent three full working days exploring their landing sites. With the aid of a Lunar Roving Vehicle, they collected a wide variety of rocks and soil and left a range of instruments at the surface powered by a thermonuclear generator. As interest grows in humans returning to the Moon, 50 years on from those pioneering days of lunar exploration, we look again at what was accomplished at the dawn of the Space Age, spurred on by a political goal and developed as a tool for science. The story of the Apollo Moon missions is an expression of those achievements.

Download or read book Heads of Mission written by Gail P Guy and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-07-17 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I consider this work an excellent, comprehensive manual for new and practicing diplomatic officers, and I applaud the authors for their foresight in producing it. This handbook should become essential reading for diplomats as it covers matters that appear simple on the surface but indeed are very critical to the successful execution of ones job as a diplomat (Keith Franklin, GCM, former ambassador of Barbados to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, former permanent secretary to the prime ministers office, and retired cabinet secretary to the government of Barbados, West Indies). This handbook for Heads of Mission is well-thought-out, clearly written, very timely, correctly sequenced and will prove to be both practical and useful (Mervyn I Assam, former high commissioner for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Kingdom, former minister of Foreign Affairs, former ambassador extraordinary, and plenipotentiary with responsibility for trade and industry). A crash course in diplomacy and the use of its tools! Gives one a practical understanding of the weighty nature of the post of Head of Mission. This handbook not only emphasizes the importance of understanding that this responsibility is full-time but also the importance of the need to prepare adequately for this responsibility. Through the comprehensive way in which the authors have dealt with the diplomatic process, it is a handbook which greatly contributes to ensuring that a Head of Mission is adequately equipped for the leadership role in the delivery of desired national outcomes (Sonia Johnny, attorney at law, former ambassador of St. Lucia to the United States of America).
