To act gently on liver and bowels, I gave a teaspoonful of ii. Ext. Wahoo for a few nights, then occasionally as te quired to avoid costiveness. Patient never had another chill or fever after the day she came to my house, which was eight months ago. I kept up same prescription, except the wahoo, for six months. She gained in weight, appetite, color becoming good, more lively in disposition, etc., daily from the start. Now, some of the read ers of the brief, yes, many, will jumpat the conclusion that it was a change of place - climate - from her home to mine. I think not. The distance is only two and a half miles, from a well-to-do father's farm, with no malarial surround ings, to our village. The manner of habits, living, etc., very similar. I think it was the medicine. The indications I proposed to fulfill by above treatment were: act upon the glandular system (with pot. Iodide), modify the blood - dyscrasia - (fi. Ext. Stillingia comp. And potassa), improve the digestion (pot. And arsenic), and arouse the torpid liver and relieve the disposition to constipation (with the fl. Ext. Wahoo).
