Upon which he exclaimed, 'do, brother a William, write to my father at Bath, and tell him I should like to go with uncle Man rice to sea.' William, who had been the constant companion of Horatio, and was little more than seventeen months older than his brother, 'wrote accordingly. Various disappointments with the difficulties'of a narrbw income, -had chilled in the mind of mr.'nelson all idea of patronage from his connections! The daring-resolution, however, of his boy Horatio gradually warmed the less san guine mind of the father, and infirm health ren dering him anxious not to lose an opportunity, which seemed to offer so desirable a provision for one of his sons, be resolved to.write to Captain Suckling.
