Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the autobiography of the author of the series, "The Life and Ramblings of Ron" which was born out of a God fearing perspective and a constant hope for a better future even for this earthly life. I humbly invite you to read the whole series, especially if you are wondering if God still loves mankind now that we are killing each other off in such horrific ways even in His Name. Hopefully, the series will illustrate, "Cheer up, things could be better." This title contains my life story with some of it's warts, but mostly of God's blessings to me for trying to do the "right thing". I'm a Solomon wanna be, content like Mary to sit at Jesus' feet. I hope that my life journey can be of help to you in your journey. May you find God with you, too, may He shine His face upon you and give you peace. Life is wondrously amazing. Sometimes it is set up so that a person has to let go and let God. When he or she can do that life is awesome. Imagining this reality reminded me that sometimes the foothills of our day to day lives obscure the mountains of blessings God's hand brings into the lives of His children. I still need to pause every once in awhile to appreciate the amazing gifts God has showered upon my life and the lives of the people He has so graciously brought into my life. In this spirit of deep gratitude, I eagerly share this autobiography with my children and the world. It is my sincere hope that the hand of God will reach into all our lives in such a way that real peace and joy can return to a world so eager to destroy itself in the name of just cause or moral imparitive. Where is the world headed? When life gives you lemons make lemonade. I used to kid, "What about limes and grapefruit?" Guilty that I hadn't made something worthwhile out of the difficulties that came my way, I finally realized I should stop beating myself up with these supposed failures on my part. I did make lemonade, so to speak; I learned, I persevered, I hung in there, and I did the best I could by the grace of God to whom be all praise and Glory. Amen. I really think the true events of my life can help others in their journey through difficult times. I can only hope that some one will discover the worth of an average persons insights to living the abundant life. With hope that a wider audience can benefit from this book, I will be glad that my faith, hope, and love can be shared to help renew a world that desperately needs the object of my faith, hope, and love; namely, the Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I sincerely pray that many will be led to the One that gives life and sustains it. I of course believe in Jesus as my personal Savior, but I can see how a witness to living a life of faith can transfer to others living by their own faith systems. All of us can and will benefit from living by a generic motto, "Cheer up things could be better." I modify it a little bit because I know God is at work making it better. I have said for years, "There is always hope." Looking back at my life I can see the hand of God in it. I always need to remember that every day; especially, when my life doesn't unfold the way I expect it to. Life is so different for each of us; it can be so unfair. Life is such a precious gift so much more enjoyable in connection with others and the One who gave us that gift. As an ambassador for Christ I hope to connect with other lives in such a way that they too can know real joy and the peace that goes beyond all comprehension. My only claim to fame is that I am a forgiven and forgiving sinner who wants to be there for other sinners to share a message of hope that can lift us all up. If that can happen through this book to God be all praise and glory. Amen.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three titled books in the Life and Ramblings of Ron series are combined in this printed copy to portray an imagined future suggested to the author by current trends in our society. Will man, the most dangerous creature on the planet, survive? This fictional autobiography of a man of faith who has to deal with a worldwide economic collapse, unprecedented events in America before and after the collapse, and the results of desperate measures to deal with desperate times wrestles with that question. Some of these horrible events are described along with the physical, mental, and spiritual struggle to deal with the resulting pain and fear of the end of the world. Surprisingly stupid acts of aggression lead to a suspenseful end. Will his life long motto, "Cheer up, things could be better," come true? This book is the futuristic continuation of the "Life and Ramblings of Ron". After living all my life under the threat of Nuclear Armageddon, I became extremely excited by my novel way to end that fear. The hope to be out from under the fear of mass destruction caused me to exclaim, "It's my birthday, it's my birthday," hence the subtitle. This novel idea needs to be out there; it is movie worthy. Now you know the other reason for my exclamation. My other hope for the next life will come true; I don't need to hold my breath for that hope, like I might have to for the hope in this book. Since the story was left open to more possibilities, two more short stories follow this one. Briefly, "The Utopia" deals with the hope of a New World Covenant with a New World Army which may be naive to purpose because power corrupts and you probably know the rest of that quote. My inventions work in my utopia and so do my zany ideas to insure the survival of every human being. I hope some of my ideas could actually work some day. The last short story is, "Saying Goodbye." This is an attempt to deal with the inevitable which I finally admit is no longer, "debt and taxes." I hope this look forward will open the door to changes in our present society so that we can avoid the scenarios of The Fears and Hope and give us things to imagine for the future on earth and the life to come. In case my book series never gets discovered, please allow me to use this space to highlight my main message for the Birthday Stories. Both sides should be disarmed and forced to peace talks and, if absolutely necessary, we must provide safe relocation of the disputing parties. The day may already be upon us to no longer ask, "What is the United States of America going to do about it?" Rather, "What is the United World going to do about it?" In my mind, civil wars should no longer be tolerated, as well as, the horrible treatment of defenseless human beings, no matter how just an argument can be made. I personally do not believe God or any higher power wants us to kill in His name. We have the right to save our own lives, that is the only justification for taking another human life, also that should be the only reason to enter an armed conflict; namely, to save lives. I think I hit upon the main points for this collection of titles. "2032 My other Birthday" subtitle, basically, reiterates my life time hope to live with the one who has been in my corner, even when I wasn't. There is so much more to be said in so little space. Thank you so much for reading this far. God give you strength to deal with all that comes your way. I know I would not want to live in a world without God to pick up the pieces. For now we have been safe; I fear that may change. If it does, I do know we can survive. Through this offering I tried to show how differing religions can peacefully coexist in a life long friendship of respect and love. My family includes multiple races, creeds, and ideologies. Love for God and Country is one of our family values. Love for one another has been our greatest gift to each other and to the world. That's the abundant life we all can enjoy because of Jesus.

Book excerpt: Big Sky Country is one of the many nicknames for the state of Montana, the place the author calls home. While Montana is a diverse state in people and in geography, north-eastern Montana is characterized by soft rolling hills and sharp coulees; scrub grass, sage brush and wild flowers cover the prairie lands and tall cottonwood, ash and willow trees shade the waterways, all outlined against skies a magnificent shade of blue which make this countryside unforgettable and unique. The people that have and still do call this place home are just as unforgettable and unique as the skies. This is a collection of stories and tales, mostly centered around the rural area of north-eastern Montana; some are from the authors own experience, including family and local history, as well as stories of wildlife, hunting and farming, and some belong to others who have been kind enough to share their own histories and recollections.

Book excerpt: I think maybe you went into the wrong profession. Comedy writing suits you very well, and maybe you could have been another Larry David. I can't curb my enthusiasm. -Ed McNamara, sports writer Newsday Some of the topics include: growing up in Brooklyn, dysfunctional family, hormonal changes, rites of passage, love affairs and some dental confessions. Preposterously, in one story a priest wants me to buy his church. These entertaining stories are interspersed with tender events every generation experiences. Capturing the full gamut, are tales of suffering and bizarre pain (some of the funniest sections) which says a lot about our species. The fact these stories emanate from the truth make it even better. Life has been a source of entertainment. I have always gotten through the tough times relying on humor. This extremely easy read allows you to pick it up and put it down as time allows. Guaranteed for a good chuckle and sometimes even a belly laugh!

Book excerpt: I like the idea of a sentimental-historical approach to articles about Grinnell and other topics. Maybe there is no past or no future, only the present. I have a good memory, which is my main research tool. Share ideas and establish contact with old friends and others. Somehow, I believe the blogs on aging are of some value to others. Feedback confirms that. It gives me something worthwhile to do. Too much leisure can be the booby prize of retirement, as can be too much activity. This is a collection of essays which I have written and arranged in a reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent and moving back in time with the others. The main topic of the articles is Grinnell, Iowa, my hometown, but there are also other subjects discussed. They are a historic, nostalgic treatment of many facets of life there in the 1940s and 1950s including Grinnell College and Grinnell High School sporting events, customs in the neighborhoods back then, and the inevitable topic of aging and life as a septuagenarian. The articles on aging are written with my GHS class of 1957 classmates in mind.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The autobiography every true American has been waiting for: a shockingly candid and raw confessional from a national treasure. From his humble beginnings in a desolate Iowa coal mining town, his years at Our Lady Queen of Chewbacca High School to his odds-defying climb to the dizzying heights of becoming America’s most trusted and beloved television News Anchor, Ron Burgundy pulls no punches in Let Me Off at the Top! In his very own words Burgundy reveals his most private thoughts, his triumphs and his disappointments. His life reads like an adventure story complete with knock down fights, beautiful women and double-fisted excitement on every page. He has hunted jackalopes with Bobby Kennedy and Peter Lawford, had more than his share of his amorous exploits, and formed the greatest on-air team in the history of televised news. Along the way, he hobnobbed with people you wish you knew and some you honestly wish you didn't -- celebrities, presidents, presidents' wives, celebrities' wives, dogs, and, of course Veronica Corningstone, the love of his life. Walter Cronkite, Barbra Streisand, Katie Couric, the list goes on. Who didn’t Mr. Burgundy, or “Ron” as he is known to his friends, rub elbows with in the course of his colorful and often criminal life? This may well be the most thrilling book ever written, by a man of great physical, moral and spiritual strength and not surprisingly a great literary talent as well. This book deserves a real shot at a Pulitzer Prize. In fact if it doesn’t win one then we will finally have proof that the Pulitzer is rigged. Ron Burgundy has taken the time to write a book. We owe it to him, as honest Americans, to read it.

Book excerpt: “Savvy and informative. . . . The most ambitious treatment of this period yet. . . . Suskind’s book often reads like Halberstam’s The Best and the Brightest. But the quagmire isn’t a neo-Vietnam like Afghanistan—it’s the economy.” — Frank Rich, New York “A searing new book. . . . Suskind has a flair for taking material he’s harvested to create narratives with a novelistic sense of drama.” — Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times “No book about the Obama presidency appears to have unnerved the White House quite so much as Confidence Men by Ron Suskind, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who has developed a niche in the specialized art of parting the curtain on presidential dealings.” — The Chicago Tribune “A truly groundbreaking inside account. . . . Penetrating in its analysis of why the administration’s approach to the country’s economic ills has been so lackluster. . . . An important addition to the growing library of books about this president.” — Joe Nocera, The New York Times Book Review “The book of the week, maybe the book of the month, is Ron Suskind’s Confidence Men. . . . A detailed narrative of the Administration’s response-sometimes frantic, sometimes sluggish, sometimes both-to the financial and economic catastrophe it inherited, as experienced from the inside.” — Hendrik Hertzberg, The New Yorker “The work that went into Confidence Men cannot be denied. Suskind conducted hundreds of interviews. He spoke to almost every member of the Obama administration, including the President. He quotes memos no one else has published. He gives you scenes that no one else has managed to capture.” — Ezra Klein, The New York Review of Books “Suskind’s account of the Obama administration is a marker of our times. It reveals a President unable to perform responsibly the duties of his high office. . . . Suskind’s contribution to this tale of woe is to give us a fine grained picture of Obama’s passive place in deliberations.” — Huffington PostThe Huffington Post “My Book of the Year. A narrative tour de force. . . . Journalism like this is all too rare in an ange in which reporters trade their critical faculties for access. And it’s even rarer that skeptical reporting is turned into something lasting.” — David Granger, Esquire “This inside account of the Obama economic team contains enough damning on-the-record quotes to give it the ring of truth despite White House efforts to discredit the narrative of infighting and missed opportunities. Read it and weep. It reminds me of the post-Iraq invasion books that documented a similar failure to rise to the enormity of the problem, whether the insurgency was in Iraq or on Wall Street.” — Eleanor Clift, Newsweek
