Book excerpt: I am excited about this beautifully written Kingdom guidebook, as it gives us various keys and strategies to live a Kingdom life. It also challenges us to become Kingdom establishers and to build the Kingdom of Jesus where we live and work. I enjoyed the parts referring to Kingdom mindsets and attitudes that teach the believer a different worldview, to attract a life of miracles as well as being instrumental in letting His Kingdom come on earth as in Heaven. What Dr Mark Loretz describes, is how to practically align ourselves with the Kingdom of God to live the life of overflow as Jesus intended.

This book was released on 2024-01-06 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have found sowing seed, thinking it was good ground and hoping for a return is not what the Kingdom is, but pressing in, waiting, listening and growing in my relationship with the Holy Spirit and being obedient to His prompting has revealed the reality of The Kingdom, which is within me. Within these pages, Mark has managed to coerce the reader to delve deeper into their relationship with the Father to find the lustrous pearl, and compel you, the purchaser to sell everything to possess it. The writings expose the gap between the child-like faith illustration Jesus used of the Kingdom of heaven belonging to children, to the reality in adulthood of what it entails and the availability as Jesus taught in His Prayer. The challenge has been to understand again that it is in seeking first His Kingdom and His Righteousness, which reveals the ultimate Pearl of Great Worth – Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

This book was released on 1999 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An examination of the Scottish kingdom's historic links with Ireland, and the beginnings of a Scottish national identity from c. 1290. The close ties between Gaels of Ireland and Scotland are well known, but in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries the elite in the core areas of the kingdom of the Scots apparently turned their backs on Gaelic culture. This book takes a new look at the issue, investigating the extent to which Scottish men of letters of the period identified the Scottish kingdom and its inhabitants with Ireland, and exploring the function of the kingdom's Irish identity. DrBroun argues that a perceived historical link with Ireland was a fundamental feature of the kingdom's identity throughout the period, and discusses the beginnings of a Scottish national identity in the 1290s and early 1300s. His evidence is based on a thorough examination of accounts of Scottish origins, the royal genealogy, and regnal lists, which articulated perceptions of the kingdom's identity; included are new editions of the origin-legend material inBook I of Fordun's Chronica Gentis Scottorum; hitherto unknown witnesses of Scottish king-lists; and texts of the royal genealogy. Dr DAUVIT BROUNis lecturer in Scottish history at the University of Glasgow.

Book Synopsis The Routledge Encyclopedia of the Historical Jesus by : Craig A. Evans
Download or read book The Routledge Encyclopedia of the Historical Jesus written by Craig A. Evans and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-01-14 with total page 1488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Encyclopedia brings together the vast array of historical research into the reality of the man, the teachings, the acts, and the events ascribed to him that have served as the foundational story of one of the world's central religions. This kind of historiography is not biography. The historical study of the Jesus stories and the transmission of these stories through time have been of seminal importance to historians of religion. Critical historical examination has provided a way for scholars of Christianity for centuries to analyze the roots of legend and religion in a way that allows scholars an escape from the confines of dogma, belief, and theological interpretation. In recent years, historical Jesus studies have opened up important discussions concerning anti-Semitism and early Christianity and the political and ideological filtering of the Jesus story of early Christianity through the Roman empire and beyond. Entries will cover the classical studies that initiated the new historiography, the theoretical discussions about authenticating the historical record, the examination of sources that have led to the western understanding of Jesus' teachings and disseminated myth of the events concerning Jesus' birth and death. Subject areas include: the history of the historical study of the New Testament: major contributors and their works theoretical issues and concepts methodologies and criteria historical genres and rhetorical styles in the story of Jesus historical and rhetorical context of martyrdom and messianism historical teachings of Jesus teachings within historical context of ethics titles of Jesus historical events in the life of Jesus historical figures in the life of Jesus historical use of Biblical figures referenced in the Gospels places and regions institutions the history of the New Testament within the culture, politics, and law of the Roman Empire.
