Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In April, 1999, schoolgirl Keyra Steinhardt was bashed, raped and murdered in a brazen daylight attack as she walked home from school in the central Queensland town of Rockhampton. The disappearance of Keyra made international headlines as the community and law enforcement officers hunted for the nine-year-old. No one uttered it out loud, but everyone knew they were searching for a body. When her killer, Leonard Fraser, finally led them to her two weeks later, it was the catalyst that went on to expose him as a murderous sexual predator. In 2000 he was found guilty of Keyra's murder. In 2003, he was tried in the Bribane Supreme Court for the murders of three women and a teenage girl in Rockhampton between December 1998 and April 1999. During the trial teenager Natasha Ryan was found alive hiding in the cupboard of her boyfriend's Rockhampton home - her emergence presented an intriguing twist in the story of this brutal and cunning killer. He was convicted for the murder of Beverley Leggo and Sylvia Benedetti and the manslaughter of Julie Dawn Turner. Fraser is a suspect in up to eight unsolved disappearances of women in Queensland and NSW, although no remains have been found. He was serving four indefinite life sentences until his death on New Year's Day 2007 when he died of a heart attack in a Brisbane prison hospital.

But when he asks Korede for Ayoola’s phone number, she must reckon with what her sister has become and how far she’s willing to go to protect her.

Download or read book The Killer in Me written by Margot Harrison and published by Hachette+ORM. This book was released on 2016-06-04 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hasn't he lived long enough? Why not? I could take him like a thief in the night. This is how the Thief thinks. He serves death, the vacuum, the unknown. He's always waiting. Always there. Seventeen-year-old Nina Barrows knows all about the Thief. She's intimately familiar with his hunting methods: how he stalks and kills at random, how he disposes of his victims' bodies in an abandoned mine in the deepest, most desolate part of a desert. Now, for the first time, Nina has the chance to do something about the serial killer that no one else knows exists. With the help of her former best friend, Warren, she tracks the Thief two thousand miles, to his home turf-the deserts of New Mexico. But the man she meets there seems nothing like the brutal sociopath with whom she's had a disturbing connection her whole life. To anyone else, Dylan Shadwell is exactly what he appears to be: a young veteran committed to his girlfriend and her young daughter. As Nina spends more time with him, she begins to doubt the truth she once held as certain: Dylan Shadwell is the Thief. She even starts to wonder . . . what if there is no Thief? From debut author Margot Harrison comes a brilliantly twisted psychological thriller that asks which is more terrifying: the possibility that your nightmares are real . . . or the possibility that they begin and end with you?

Book Synopsis Love in the Time of Serial Killers by : Alicia Thompson
Download or read book Love in the Time of Serial Killers written by Alicia Thompson and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2022-08-16 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of Cosmopolitan's Best Romance Novels Ever Turns out that reading nothing but true crime isn't exactly conducive to modern dating—and one woman is going to have to learn how to give love a chance when she's used to suspecting the worst. PhD candidate Phoebe Walsh has always been obsessed with true crime. She's even analyzing the genre in her dissertation—if she can manage to finish writing it. It's hard to find the time while she spends the summer in Florida, cleaning out her childhood home, dealing with her obnoxiously good-natured younger brother, and grappling with the complicated feelings of mourning a father she hadn't had a relationship with for years. It doesn't help that she's low-key convinced that her new neighbor, Sam Dennings, is a serial killer (he may dress business casual by day, but at night he's clearly up to something). It's not long before Phoebe realizes that Sam might be something much scarier—a genuinely nice guy who can pierce her armor to reach her vulnerable heart.

Book Synopsis Sex and the Serial Killer by : William Steel
Download or read book Sex and the Serial Killer written by William Steel and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-10-09 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the early 1980s, William Steel's life took a turn towards the macabre when he quite literally ran into Robert Durst in midtown Manhattan. Steel was attending a school for locksmithing and security systems at the time, and Durst -- the black sheep of a family that controls billions of dollars in New York real estate -- decided he could use a man of those specific talents. Little did Steel realize that his new acquaintance was not only the prime suspect in his first wife's mysterious disappearance but quite possibly the wealthiest serial killer in American history. For the better part of a decade, Steel and Durst maintained what has been called a friendship of mutual usury, as Durst paid Steel for use of his Brooklyn home to engage in drug- and fetish-fueled sex with a variety of prostitutes. As they got to know each other better, Durst boasted to Steel of darker deeds. Were they confessions of rape, torture and cold-blooded murder, or just the twisted fantasies of a maniacal multimillionaire? Steel didn't know for sure until years later. He's now convinced that Durst is, indeed, a murderous monster, and he remains haunted by thoughts that he should have done something to stop the fiend before he claimed more innocent lives. In his gripping memoir, Sex and the Serial Killer, My Bizarre Times with Robert Durst, Steel reveals the depths of the scion's depravity, and he demands justice for Durst's victims and their shattered families.NOTE: Parts of this book have been redacted for various legal and safety reasons.
Download or read book John Wayne Gacy written by Gisela K and published by . This book was released on 2021-02-06 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John Wayne Gacy was a prolific American serial killer who buried most of his victims in the crawlspace under his house in Cook County, Illinois. What started as an investigation to find one missing teenager ended up being one of the most disturbing true crime cases in history. With 27 victims found buried mud under his house, 2 elsewhere on his property, and 4 recovered from the Des Plaines River, Gacy had quickly become the most frightening and least funny clown and serial killer that had ever lived. While he mostly dressed up as a police officer while he was cruising for victims, it was his work as a registered clown at children's parties and his charming trickery that earned him the title of "The Killer Clown". He had learned many tricks and charms to con his victims into the rope and handcuffs that would end their life, using what he called "the rope trick" to strangle them to death as he read them passages from the Bible. A sadistic sexual predator with an insatiable need to belittle, torture, and violate young boys and men- this case is hauntingly unforgettable and disturbing in every sense. When he was caught in December 1978 following a complacent slip-up in target selection, he displayed no signs of remorse for what he had done, instead, blaming his victims for killing themselves and using his fourteen years on death row to prove his innocence. He was a businessman, politician, community leader, family man, and friend who shocked the world with the evil and depravity that nobody knew he was capable of. What exactly did the man who holds the record for having the longest sentence ever imposed on a mass murderer get up to? Let's investigate!
