Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sometimes losing your way and finding your life is only the beginning. The first book in a new trilogy following Elizabeth Lara & Connor Bannon. Picking up five years after the events in The Paris Apartment, The Irish Castle will take you back to Ireland where it all began as Elizabeth finds her place in her new home and continues to work on staying true to herself even as a new “Lady.” The Irish Castle features a new slow burn romance between friends, intrigue, long walks in the Irish woods, a Moon Circle, and a chapter entitled, Mona, Senior Dancer—where we learn that it’s never too late to take a new path. Find out what happens to your favorite characters. Did Elizabeth keep taking pictures? Did Kilian ever make it as a rock star? What new world is Audre now conquering? Will Mona find a way back to herself in her sixties? Will Elizabeth find a way back to herself and remember who she is? One reader described the new trilogy as “Loads of fun—loved seeing these characters continue and grow and loved how the saying sometimes you just have to get back on the broom and remind them who they are dealing with could be applied to Elizabeth’s new and improved journey.” See what comes after happily ever after. . . . More love, laughter, dancing . . . and of course, Ireland. Note from Juliet: I focus on the fun of life and the possibilities. I’m not going to mess up these characters for the sake of more story; I simply follow them to new and better heights. All of my books begin with wouldn’t it be fun if . . . Book Synopsis Marriage in Ireland, 1660–1925 by : Maria Luddy
Download or read book Marriage in Ireland, 1660–1925 written by Maria Luddy and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2020-06-25 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What were the laws on marriage in Ireland, and did church and state differ in their interpretation? How did men and women meet and arrange to marry? How important was patriarchy and a husband's control over his wife? And what were the options available to Irish men and women who wished to leave an unhappy marriage? This first comprehensive history of marriage in Ireland across three centuries looks below the level of elite society for a multi-faceted exploration of how marriage was perceived, negotiated and controlled by the church and state, as well as by individual men and women within Irish society. Making extensive use of new and under-utilised primary sources, Maria Luddy and Mary O'Dowd explain the laws and customs around marriage in Ireland. Revising current understandings of marital law and relations, Marriage in Ireland, 1660–1925 represents a major new contribution to Irish historical studies.
Download or read book Irish Love written by Andrew M. Greeley and published by Macmillan + ORM. This book was released on 2002-03-15 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Continuing the enchanting chronicles of the fabulous Nuala Anne McGrail and her spear-carrying husband Dermot, bestselling author Andrew M. Greeley takes them once again to Ireland for another thrill-packed adventure. Back on the Emerald Isle, Nuala and Dermot soon get the feeling that someone is out to get them. They find themselves dodging multiple explosions, and someone starts shooting at Nuala while she is water-skiing in the cold Atlantic. Meanwhile, the handsome parish priest, Father Jack, has given Dermot the diary of a young Chicago newspaperman. Written in the year 1882, the diary tells in horrendous detail an intriguing story of a mass murder and a trumped-up trial in which one of Ireland's greatest heroes was accused of the murders without a shred of evidence. These two stories, ancient and modern, soon get mixed up, and they make for an utterly fascinating tale of murder, betrayal, and redemption with Nuala and her magical powers at the center of it all. Andrew Greeley not only tells us a riveting tale of adventure and derring-do, he gives us a picture of modern-day prosperous Ireland and the engaging and, of course, sometimes villainous people who live there. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

The Irish Heart Series Continuing Trilogy: The Irish Castle: Keeping Elizabeth (Book 4) The Irish Secret: Wild Fire (Book 5) The Irish Wedding: A Novel Romance (Book 6) Juliet Gauvin’s books are feel-good romantic women’s fiction. They include international travel, holidays, contemporary women, and epic love. INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR Q: How did you come up with The Irish Cottage? Juliet: Well the story came together in pieces. I love Ireland, I've always been attracted to the country, the people, the music, the dancing. I've spent time traveling the country so I knew I wanted to set the book there. And then the character of Elizabeth was based on a lot of the experiences I had when I was in law in San Francisco. When I was immersed in that world--it was a very dark time, and I really did lose my way--like Elizabeth. I even let long-time relationships die because I was in such a dark place, it was difficult to see anything past my own nose. So yeah, I knew I wanted my heroine to be a "recovering attorney" and I knew that I wanted her to have this great love affair in Ireland that would open her up to the truly great possibilities life has to offer. Q: And what about Connor Bannon? Is he based on anyone? Juliet: Ummm...he might be an amalgamation of several people, but I think I'll refrain from commenting further--have to keep some of it to myself, don't I? Q: Why did you elect to write romantic women's fiction as opposed to traditional contemporary romance? Juliet: I knew I wanted to write in the romantic women's fiction space because writing a story where the heroine's evolution is paramount--not just her relationship with Connor--is what really gets me, drives me--I love those types of stories. I like writing herstory--women's lives and journeys are so complex--I wanted to write a series that included a great love story, but didn't sacrifice the heroine's journey in any way. It's about Elizabeth finding her way--we all need to find our way. Sometimes people help with that, but ultimately each of us has to find our own path...and we all need love too. Q: Why London and then Paris? Juliet: I lived in London for a time--I love it so much. It's one of the best cities on the planet, really. When I closed my eyes and thought about where Elizabeth's journey would take her I knew London would be next. And Paris--I lived in Lyon for a time as well and I've spent a lot of time in Paris so it seemed only natural for the final book to be set there. I also set certain things in motion in The Irish Cottage that make it impossible to end anywhere else--I knew I wanted to end it in France. Plus, Elizabeth has a major sweet tooth, like me, and Paris has the most amazing dessert masters in the world. I spent many hours pouring over the websites of my favorites and discovering some new ones. Those were the hardest and best research nights--I'm nocturnal, I write at night--and pouring over the websites of my favorite masters was heaven and hell. I wanted to get on a plane already. My sugar intake definitely went up while I was writing The Paris Apartment--and my waistline with it.
