Book Synopsis The Infrared Absorption Spectrum of Water Vapor and Carbon Dioxide by : H. N. Ritland
Download or read book The Infrared Absorption Spectrum of Water Vapor and Carbon Dioxide written by H. N. Ritland and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A brief review is given of the basic principles which govern the absorption of infrared radiation by molecules, with emphasis on the factors which govern the qualitative features of the observed spectra. This is used as a basis for the examination of the infrared spectra of water vapor and of carbon dioxide. The characteristics of the individual bands are discussed in terms of the underlying theory and are illustrated by experimental absorption curves derived from the published literature. (Author).

Download or read book Nu-averaged Infrared Absorption Coefficients of Water Vapor written by R. F. Calfee and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We report the quantitative absorption coefficients of water vapor in a format suitable for calculation of water vapor absorption spectra characterized by instrumental bandpasses of 1 cm−1 or greater in the 670 to 1450 cm−1 region. The coefficients are derived from individual line parameters of H2O and represent a useful way of reducing line parameter data to a practical volume of information for 1 cm−1 resolution spectra of the troposphere. Transmission spectra for three water vapor concentrations show typical applications of the absorption coefficient tables. The application of the data is restricted to conditions within 10% of 1 atmosphere pressure and a temperature of 296 K if a transmission accuracy of 2% is to be maintained.

This book was released on 1967 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theoretical basis and computational procedures for producing absorption spectra of water vapor and carbon dioxide under varying conditions of temperature and pressure are discussed. Such spectra are produced with a line- by-line analysis using theoretically calculated spectral parameters. Any experimentally practical degree of spectral resolution is possible. (Author).
Book Synopsis Transport of Infrared Atmospheric Radiation by : Boris M. Smirnov
Download or read book Transport of Infrared Atmospheric Radiation written by Boris M. Smirnov and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2020-02-10 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book sets out to give a rigorous mathematical description of the greenhouse effect through the theory of infrared atmospheric emission. In contrast to traditional climatological analysis, this approach eschews empirical relations in favour of a strict thermodynamical derivation, based on data from NASA and from the HITRAN spectroscopy database. The results highlight new aspects of the role of clouds in the greenhouse effect.
