Book Synopsis The Influence of Values on Consumer Behaviour by : Erik Kostelijk
Download or read book The Influence of Values on Consumer Behaviour written by Erik Kostelijk and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-08-05 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Substantial progress has been made in the conceptualization of values within psychology. The importance of values is also acknowledged in marketing, and companies use values to describe the core associations of their brand. Yet despite this, the values concept has received limited attention in marketing theory. The Influence of Values on Consumer Behaviour aims to bridge the gap between the conceptual progress of values in psychology, and the current practice in marketing and branding literature. It proposes the ‘Value Compass’, a comprehensive value system that is cross-culturally applicable to consumer behaviour and brand choice. The values concept is used in psychology to identify the motivations underlying behaviour, a concept that marketers have borrowed to define brand values. This has led to conceptual confusion. Whereas in psychology the values system is perceived as an integrated structure, in marketing, values are treated as abstract motivations that give importance to the benefits of consumption. Attention in marketing has shifted away from brand values toward brand personality, a set of human characteristics associated with a brand. Despite its popularity, brand personality has limitations in explaining consumer behaviour, while the potential merits of a brand values concept have remained largely unexplored. The book presents a meaningful alternative to the brand personality concept and promotes the benefits of using the Value Compass for assessing the effects of brand values and personal values on consumer choice. As such, it will be essential reading for academics and postgraduate students in the fields of marketing, consumer psychology, branding, consumer choice behaviour and business studies.

Book Synopsis The Influence of Very Heavy Fuselage Mass Loadings and Long Nose Lengths Upon Oscillations in the Spin by : Ralph W. Stone (Jr.)
Download or read book The Influence of Very Heavy Fuselage Mass Loadings and Long Nose Lengths Upon Oscillations in the Spin written by Ralph W. Stone (Jr.) and published by . This book was released on 1948 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a chart showing the results of a study to determine those factors of airplane design and mass characteristics which influence the tail spin in such a manner as to make the spinning motion a series of violent rolling and yawing oscillations. This chart shows an empirical relationship between long fuselage nose lengths (side-area moment factor) and large distributions of mass along the fuselage (negative inertia yawing-moment parameters). This relationship separates a region for which steady spinning motions were obtained from a region for which violent oscillatory motions were obtained.

Book Synopsis The Influence of Polymer Additives on Velocity and Temperature Fields by : Bernhard Gampert
Download or read book The Influence of Polymer Additives on Velocity and Temperature Fields written by Bernhard Gampert and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Symposium on "The Influence of Polymer Additives on Veloc ity and Temperature Fields" was proposed to the General Assem bly of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Me chanics (IUTAM) by the "Gesellschaft fur Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik" (GAMM). The Symposium was held under the auspices of IUTAM in association with the "Deutsche Rheologische Ge sellschaft" (DRG) with responsibility for the organization ly ing with B. Gampert (Universitat-GH-Essen). The main aim of this IUTAM Symposium was to consider the funda mental aspects of the phenomena that occur when small amounts of polymers are added to turbulent flows (turbulent drag re duction) and laminar porous media flows. In particular atten tion was devoted to - the influence of molecular parameters of the polymers and solution properties, especially the elongational viscosity, on turbulent flow and laminar porous media flow; the influence of polymers on the turbulence structure in polymer drag reduction
Book Synopsis The Influence of Turbulence on Soil Erosion by : Gijs J. C. M. Hoffmans
Download or read book The Influence of Turbulence on Soil Erosion written by Gijs J. C. M. Hoffmans and published by Eburon Uitgeverij B.V.. This book was released on 2012 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This publication outlines the relevance of turbulence on the initiation of motion of soil and explains the interaction between the load and the resistance against erosion or the strength of the bed material. The stability of stones, sand, clay and grass is discussed by using Newton's second law and a definition of the turbulence energy. Usually the equilibrium scour depth caused by jets and at piers/abutments is predicted by applying empirical relations. This publication discusses a scour approach which is based on two steps. First, a control volume that represents the scour hole is considered. Secondly, the relevant forces are determined. Newton's second law is applied, that is, the sum of forces equals zero since the scour hole is in equilibrium. This approach is discussed for different types of jet scour and scouring downstream of sills and near bridge piers and abutments.
