It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. On the contrary, no miner who is not himself an expert, and who can ai ford it, should be without such advice and assis tance as can be afforded by a well-educated and practised hydraulic engineer. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Field Testing for Gold and Silver: A Practical Manual for Prospectors and Miners The more I worked with prospectors the more convinced I became that the usual blow-pipe sets prepared for colleges, etc., were much too complicated and too expensive for the field, and that a simpler and cheaper set of apparatus was desirable. How this want may be met I have endeavoured to show in the following pages. I do not claim, nor could I claim, any originality for the pan-amalgamation process, but by introducing a cheap and effective little balance, the procedure. Book Synopsis A Handbook of Gold Milling (Classic Reprint) by : Henry Louis
Download or read book A Handbook of Gold Milling (Classic Reprint) written by Henry Louis and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-05 with total page 526 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Handbook of Gold Milling Of practical experience for the most part - to carry out the duties of amalgamator, reduction officer, or mill man, these being the various names by which this post is designated in various parts of the world - the very divergence in nomenclature serving to show how very recently the need for and existence of such a trade have come to be recognised. Under these circumstances it is hardly to be wondered at that the technical education of the mill-man still leaves much to be desired, and the main object of the present volume is to impart so much of such technical instruction in his duties as can be included within the covers of a book. Incidentally it is hoped that it may also prove of service to managers and managing directors of mines, not only by showing them the most general causes of loss both of money and material in gold-milling, and by indicating the readiest means of preventing such loss, but also by pointing out to them what are the essential portions of a mill-man's duty and to guide them in selecting a duly qualified man for this onerous post, upon the proper filling of which the prosperity of a mine is so largely dependent. For whilst it is quite true that no one can make a poor mine into a good one, the converse of the proposition is unfortunately by no means impossible; and it is an undoubted fact that there is in existence to day a large number of mines which would give far. Download or read book Manual of Mining written by M. C. Ihlseng and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-26 with total page 746 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Manual of Mining: Based on the Course of Lectures on Mining, Delivered at the School of Mines of the State of Colorado Based originally upon lectures delivered at the Colorado State School of Mines, between 1880 and 1888, the various editions received only such additions and changes as were necessary in its use as a text-book in the mining schools of this and other countries. The Author of the Manual of Mining presents in this edition a complete revision of the work, which now assumes the form of a collaboration with the authors mentioned below. Mr. E. B. Wilson, who needs no introduction to the mining public, brings to the original work a wide range of experience and ability, an accuracy of detail and a discrimination in description, contributing highly to the value of the revision. He has devoted himself particularly to Chapter III of Part I and Chapters V, VI, VII, and VIII, of Part II. Originally planned for Metal-mining, the first issue of the book gave small place to Coal and its extraction. This new edition has of necessity been enlarged to include Coal-mining in all its phases, with full descriptions and many illustrations of modern methods and machinery. The later devices in power generation and distribution, as the steam-turbines, oil, and compressed-air engines, with such appliances as have proven themselves meritorious in economy and safety, are elaborately treated.
