Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My military career ended with honor at the time President Lyndon B. Johnson was the Commander in Chief of these United States. I served in the United States Coast Guard, the United States Navy, and the United States Army in combat during the World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam. When my military career ended, I entered a job market in which civil rights had become a reality. Therefore, with my education, electronic training, and motivation, I was able to secure a job working for the Minolta Corporation. My military service and my employment at Minolta enabled me to support my family: three boys and one girl who are all adults now. In looking back over my life, my memories of a strong religious upbringing brought me back to the church. As a result, I found myself being called into the ministry. Following Gods directions, I found myself moving from Browns Mills, New Jersey to Columbia, South Carolina. Presently, I serve as founder and president of Worthy is the Lamb Outreach Ministries (Revelation 5:12). Therefore, proceeds from the book will be used in funding programs for the elderly, the sick, and the needy through my ministry. To God Be the glory!

Book Synopsis Operation Barbarossa: the Complete Organisational and Statistical Analysis, and Military Simulation Volume IIA by : Nigel Askey
Download or read book Operation Barbarossa: the Complete Organisational and Statistical Analysis, and Military Simulation Volume IIA written by Nigel Askey and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-11-01 with total page 724 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Operation Barbarossa: Volume IIA concerns the Wehrmacht. All the significant German weapon systems and combat squads used in the campaign are analysed using the quantitative methodology detailed in Volume I, along with the contextual history. An assessment of each weapon system's inherent 'combat power' is provided, as well as attributes such as the relative anti-tank, anti-personnel and anti-aircraft values. Volume IIA then focuses on the detailed Kriegstarkenachweisungen (KStN, or TOE) for German land units (including those in the West), as well as the unit's actual organisation and equipment. All significant units in the German Army (Heer), Waffen SS, Luftwaffe and security forces are included; ranging from the largest panzer divisions, down to small anti-aircraft companies, military-police units, Landesschutzen battalions, and rail-road and construction companies. In all cases the data is presented in detailed tables, using the weapon systems and combat squads previously analysed.
Book Synopsis Warrior's Rage by : Douglas MacGregor
Download or read book Warrior's Rage written by Douglas MacGregor and published by Naval Institute Press. This book was released on 2009-09-01 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On 26 February 1991, cavalry troops of “Cougar Squadron,” the 2nd Squadron of the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, charged out of a sandstorm during Operation Desert Storm and caught Iraq’s Republican Guard Corps in the open desert along the North-South grid line of a military map referred to as the “73 Easting.” Taken by surprise, the defending Iraqi armor brigade was swept away in salvos of American tank and missile fire in what became the U.S. Army’s largest tank battle since World War II. Douglas Macgregor, the man who trained and led Cougar Squadron into battle, recounts two stories. One is the inspiring tale of the valiant American soldiers, sergeants, lieutenants, and captains who fought and won the battle. The other is a story of failed generalship, one that explains why Iraq’s Republican Guard escaped, ensuring that Saddam Hussein’s regime survived and America’s war with Iraq dragged on. Certain to provoke debate, this is the latest book from the controversial and influential military veteran whose two previous books, Breaking the Phalanx and Transformation Under Fire, are credited with influencing thinking and organization inside America’s ground forces and figure prominently in current discussions about military strategy and defense policies. Its fast-moving battle narrative, told from the vantage point of Macgregor’s Abrams tank, and its detailed portraits of American soldiers, along with vivid descriptions of the devastating technology of mounted warfare, will captivate anyone with a taste for adventure as well as an interest in contemporary military history.
Book Synopsis Eyes Behind the Lines: US Army Long-Range Reconnaissance and Surveillance Units by : James F. Gebhardt
Download or read book Eyes Behind the Lines: US Army Long-Range Reconnaissance and Surveillance Units written by James F. Gebhardt and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 2005 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Eyes Behind the Lines: US Army Long-Range Reconnaissance and Surveillance Units is the 10th study in the Combat Studies Institute (CSI) Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Occasional Paper series. This work is an outgrowth of concerns identified by the authors of On Point: The United States Army in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Specifically, these authors called into question the use of long-range surveillance (LRS) assets by commanders during that campaign and suggested an assessment ought to be made about their continuing utility and means of employment. This revision contains some important additional information the author received after this book was originally published Major (Retired) James Gebhardt, of CSI, researched and wrote this Occasional Paper with that end in view. In this study, Gebhardt surveys the US Army s historical experience with LRRP and LRS units from the 1960s Cold War and Vietnam War, through their resurgence in the 1980s and use in Operations JUST CAUSE and DESERT STORM, to the advent of the GWOT. The paper's analytical framework examines each era of LRS units in terms of doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership, and personnel. In doing so, the author makes a strong case for continuing the LRS capability in the Army s force structure. The variety of environments and enemies likely to be faced by the military in the GWOT continues to demand the unique human intelligence abilities of trained and organized LRS units. As the Army leads the Armed Forces of the United States in combating terrorists where they live, the lessons found in this survey remain timely and relevant.
