This Christian pamphlet speaks to the very heart of the hope we have in Christ—and it explains prophecies about Jesus and their fulfillment. It’s amazing to discover that Jesus fulfilled more than 100 prophecies foretold 400—1500 years before his birth. 100 Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus contains a helpful chart that presents Old Testament prophecies that are divided into those regarding Jesus’ Birth, Jesus’ Life and Ministry, and Jesus’ Death and Resurrection and the New Testament fulfillments of each prophecy. Also included are Jesus’ Titles and Attributes mentioned in both Old and New Testaments. This pamphlet makes an excellent Bible study or reference tool and will help you share the amazing story of the Old Testament’s promise of the Messiah’s coming and the New Testament’s glorious fulfillment of those promises. Here are some prophesies found in the 100 Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus pamphlet: Prophecies about Jesus’ Birth Prophecy: Be of the tribe of Judah Old Testament References: Genesis 49:8 10, “Judah, your brothers will praise you. . . . The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his.” New Testament Fulfillment: Matthew 1:13, “A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham. . . . Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, Judah the father of Perez and Zerah. . . .” Prophecies about Jesus’ Life and Ministry Prophecy: The King comes to Jerusalem riding on a donkey Old Testament References: Zechariah 9:9, “See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” New Testament Fulfillment: Mark 11:7, “When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. . . .” Prophecies about Jesus’ Death and Resurrection Prophecy: Be hung upon a tree as a curse for us Old Testament References Deuteronomy 21:23, “Be sure to bury him that same day, because anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s curse. You must not desecrate that land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.” New Testament Fulfillment Galatians 3:13, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written; “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” 100 Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus “color codes” the Old Testament prophecies so you can see the number of years they were made before the birth of Christ.

This book was released on 2019-02-04 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians in general—and preachers of prophecy in particular—attribute the fulfillment of hundreds of Old Testament messianic prophecies to Jesus of Nazareth. Often these claims arise in the uncritical environment of Christian churches or popular literature that is treating messianic prophecy. People with critical thinking abilities, and those endowed with a skeptical nature, often have key questions that remain unaddressed in such environments. These thinkers and skeptics are the people that will be most interested in this work. The primary question addressed is this: “Do critically acceptable historical-evidential reasons exist for believing that Jesus Christ is the direct fulfillment of some specific Old Testament messianic texts?” Approaching this question within a framework that eliminates any possibility of staged prophetic fulfillment, and those that may occur by mere chance or collusion, produces results that must be taken seriously. Even with these strict criteria, Jesus emerges as the only viable candidate to fulfill some of the prophecies included in this study. For other prophetic texts, the evidence is not as abundant or convincing. However, even these texts yield several minimal facts that directly impinge on New Testament claims about Jesus.
Book Synopsis Prophecy and History in Relation to the Messiah by : Alfred Edersheim
Download or read book Prophecy and History in Relation to the Messiah written by Alfred Edersheim and published by . This book was released on 2018-08 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For two millennia Christianity has stated that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah prophesized about in Jewish scripture. But how have Christians justified these claims? And from what sources do they draw their evidence that Jesus was in fact the Messiah? Biblical scholar, Alfred Edersheim, in an extremely thorough study of Jewish scripture examines how Jesus Christ fulfilled the Messianic hopes of many Old Testament prophecies. Through the course of twelve lectures Edersheim provides brilliant insight into the Old Testament and how the texts within it provide clear evidence of prophecy for the coming of Jesus Christ. Yet, Edersheim does not stop at studying the Old Testament alone but also uses the Pentateuch, the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha to provide further examples that Jesus was indeed prophesized about by Jewish texts many centuries before he was born. This book is essential reading for anyone who wishes to understand more fully how Jesus' life was intertwined with old Jewish texts and for those who are looking for a scholarly, yet accessible, account of this fascinating topic. Alfred Edersheim (1825-89) was a Vienna-born biblical scholar who converted from Judaism to Christianity. A veteran minister and missionary to the Jews of Romania, Edersheim left an enduring and priceless legacy to followers of Christ. Among his most widely read works are The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah, The Temple: Its Ministry and Services, and Bible History Old Testament.
Book Synopsis The Messiah Revealed in Prophecy by : Cushroo Bejon
Download or read book The Messiah Revealed in Prophecy written by Cushroo Bejon and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-06-05 with total page 59 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: for the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? (Isa 14:26-27 NIV) Biblical prophecy is not simply insight into future events. It is more than that, for it reveals Gods plan and purpose, and imparts an understanding of His purpose to humanity. In this book, Cushroo Bejon explores the significance of the prophetic scriptures in relation to the birth, life, crucifixion, resurrection and exaltation of Jesus. His findings are conclusive: it cannot be mere coincidence that these ancient scriptural prediction find their fulfillment in the life of Jesus, rather, they provide clear evidence that the Bible is the Word of God, and that Jesus is the messiah, God’s Son.
Book Synopsis Jesus the Messiah by : Edward Hartley Dewart
Download or read book Jesus the Messiah written by Edward Hartley Dewart and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-05 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Jesus the Messiah: In Prophecy and Fulfilment; A Review and Refutation of the Negative Theory of Messianic Prophecy It is only in the light of these prophecies that we can rightly apprehend the redemptive work of Christ and its glorious results - not as an isolated and independent system of religion, but as the con summation of the divine purposes which had been revealed, by the holy prophets, to the people of God in a former dispensation. The relation of the Old Testament to the New is as the blossom to the fruit, as the foundation to the complete structure, as the hope-inspiring promise to the joy-giving fulfilment. The prophecies of the Old Testament invest the New Testament with a divine sanction, because they show the Christian dispensation to be the outcome of God's purpose. The fulfilments of the New Testament vindicate the supernatural origin of the Old Testament revelation, and reflect back upon it the light of the glory of the latter days.
