Book excerpt: Gea, or Mother Earth, created the Universe and gave birth to the first humans. In Port de Soller, Mamen and Toni become aware of their limitless power, but can they prevent the passage of time and the destruction of their species? Toni already knows he is God, so Mamen must be Gea. Jesus and Nefertiti have the mission to defeat Lucifer and bury him under a great pyramid, although she has not yet revealed how she knows what will happen in the future. Meanwhile, Jesus is becoming increasingly aware of his role in the course of the centuries. He will become the greatest symbol of all time, but surrendering to the evidence will cost him more than he can imagine. "No author like J. P. Johnson has treated the figure of Jesus of Nazareth with such neutrality and, at the same time, with the literary mastery that only a writer of his talent can boast of." Bellver Literary Supplement. Diario de Mallorca. J.P. Johnson lives on the island of Mallorca. A former bodyguard for military authorities and a stockbroker, he is now exclusively dedicated to literature. He is the author of the famous series "The Fifth Origin," "The Revenge of the Earth," and "The Devil on the Island" (published under his real name, Joan Pont). BOOKS BY J. P. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Previous editions of this book (formerly published in the Rob & Smith Series) have established it as the pre-eminent guide to operative surgery of the heart and great vessels. This new edition recognizes the increasing subspecialization in surgery by positioning the book for the specialist cardiac surgeon. The work is a major revision edited by two well-respected American surgeons and includes a host of prestigious international contributors. The scope of the book is fully up-to-date with modern practice, including descriptions of minimally invasive and 'off-pump' procedures. Each procedure is illustrated by a series of step-by-step full colour line illustrations of exceptional quality - consistently cited in market research as the best method of demonstrating surgical method - with detailed notes on operative technique. Additional text describes the principles and justification of choosing each procedure, preoperative assessment and preparation including anaesthetic aspects, postoperative care and outcomes. The book is a gold standard teaching aid on operative cardiac surgery for residents and trainees and an invaluable reference for experienced cardiothoracic surgeons approaching unfamiliar or uncommon procedures.

This book was released on 2019-05-01 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first complete study of the origin of geometry in India. In Ancient India, brick-built fire-altars (citi-s) were ordained for the Soma sacrifice, a Vedic rite, which led to the compilation of rule-books for making and arranging bricks. These volumes, called Śulbasūtra-s, represent the first available texts of both geometry and mensuration, and were composed from 600 BCE, although the actual practice goes back to c. 1500 BCE. This book begins by detailing the history of geometry in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greece, and shows that geometry everywhere starts with brick-built structures, rather than the measurement of land. It emphasizes that geometry in India, unlike in Greece, was side-based rather than angle-based. The text is profusely illustrated.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Achaemenid period (550-330 BCE) is rightly seen as one of the most formative periods in Judaism. It is the period in which large portions of the Bible were edited and redacted and others were authored--yet no dedicated interdisciplinary study has been undertaken to present a consistent picture of this decisive time period. This book is dedicated to the study of the touchpoints between Yahwistic communities throughout the Achaemenid empire and the Iranian attributes of the empire that ruled over them for about two centuries. Its approach is fundamentally interdisciplinary. It brings together scholars of Achaemenid history, literature and religion, Iranian linguistics, historians of the Ancient Near East, archeologists, biblical scholars and Semiticists. The goal is to better understand the interchange of ideas, expressions and concepts as well as the experience of historical events between Yahwists and the empire that ruled over them for over two centuries. The book will open up a holisitic perspective on this important era to scholars of a wide variety of fields in the study of Judaism in the Ancient Near East.
