Two strategies included short stories and two strategies centered around books. The basic read aloud, repeated readings, shared strategy with alternated adult and student reading, and the support read aloud are the strategies implemented. Varied assessments included open-ended questions, multiple choice questions, and written retell. Narrative data was also analyzed to investigate students' behaviors and attitudes. Scores indicated higher levels of comprehension than was recorded earlier this year. The greatest changes were evident in the students' behaviors and attitudes about themselves and their reading. The read aloud experiences rendered positive results.
