This can be explained through the complex relationship between politics and business and how that can be applied to a country undergoing a political and economic crisis. This understanding comes from the association between governments and how they affect its citizens through policies and vice versa. Subsequently, that understanding serves to comprehend the sequence of events that led to the 2009 Coup d’Etat in Honduras and how it trickled down to acts of violence and corruption within its people today. These acts still affect small businesses’ growth in a negative way. The lack of growth and economic opportunities in Honduras has led the youth to seek ways on how to emigrate. The two aforementioned assumptions are further analyzed through two online surveys applied to small business owners in Honduras and the young Honduran population. -- Abstract.
