Book Synopsis The Echo of Silence by : Alan E. Carman
Download or read book The Echo of Silence written by Alan E. Carman and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2010-11 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the year 2035, scientist Ewing is the last person left alive on earth. With an all-encompassing mantle of ice overtaking the planet, he has just three days of energy left; then, he too, will succumb, just as the others. He's the only one able to communicate the final episode in humanity's long, sad story. In the time he has left, Ewing examines the main causes that are responsible for the planet's demise. How did man's undisciplined actions jeopardize the future of his planet? The Echo of Silence addresses these issues and is an in-depth consideration of God, creation, and the time continuum. This narrative covers the birth of the universe, the origins of man, and the inept stewardship of the planet. It discusses the two most powerful and destructive factions that kept the masses in a perpetual state of confusion and doubt over the source of creation. It shows how the debate, lasting four hundred years, was self-defeating, as neither science nor religion could claim ownership of the genesis until they recognized the omnipotent nature and true function of the time continuum.

Download or read book The Echo Chamber written by Luke Williams and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2011-08-04 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An evocative and exquisitely written debut novel about family, empire and money. Impressive in its scope and ambition, this first novel is at once a family saga, a book that reimagines the myth of the empire, and a history of objects. The Echo Chamber is narrated by fifty-four- year-old Evie Steppman, who grew up in Nigeria in the 1950s during the last decade of British rule. As a child, Evie exhibited extraordinarily acute powers of hearing; now, alone in an attic in Scotland that is filled with objects from her past and with her powers of hearing starting to fade, she sets out to record her history before it all disintegrates into a meaningless din. Tales of the twelfth-century mapmaker in Palermo, stories whispered by embittered expatriates, and eyewitness accounts from Nigeria's civil war mingle with Evie's memories of her childhood, of her grandfather, a watchmaker who attempted to forge a mechanical likeness of his dead wife, and of her travels across America. Williams's interest in history and storytelling and his talent for evoking multiple voices will remind readers of the work of David Mitchell, Peter Carey, and Jonathan Safran Foer.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tales within "Alone in the Echo: A Journey Within" are not just stories; they are testaments to the strength and resilience of the female spirit. In a world that often demands women to be resilient, these stories celebrate the unyielding courage of women who face their solitude head-on. These characters are not damsels in distress waiting for rescue; they are architects of their destinies, finding solace, companionship, and even joy within the confines of their solitude. Through the prism of these narratives, readers will witness the transformation of solitude from a burden to a source of empowerment. The women in these stories draw upon their internal reservoirs of strength, confront their fears, and emerge as heroines of their lives. In the face of adversity, they redefine their identities, proving that solitude, far from being a weakness, can be a catalyst for profound personal growth.

Book Synopsis When the Echo Dies by : Dean C. Waldt
Download or read book When the Echo Dies written by Dean C. Waldt and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2017-01-05 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In June 2015, the Supreme Court declared that marriage violates the United States Constitution. The federal court marriage decisions, culminating in the 2015 Supreme Court decision, are a symptom of a potentially fatal condition impacting American society. The foundation of the American experiment in self-government is a common core of objective foundational truths. These are not sectarian or doctrinal truths. Rather, they are the echo of the Judeo-Christian principles that have been the basic foundation stones of Western civilization. In When the Echo Dies, recent federal court cases overturning State laws and State constitutional amendments on civil marriage and the Supreme Court cases finding traditional civil marriage to be an unconstitutional institution are examined in detail to determine whether the premises used by the federal courts are a reflection or a rejection of the foundational echo that gave birth to America. The examination of these decisions leads to the inevitable conclusion that much of the federal judiciary and the majority of the Supreme Court has either lost the ability to hear the foundational echo or actively reject it. Whether from active choice or passive disability, the end result is a form of judicial tyranny, as the federal courts usurp the American democratic process. But it is not too late. We must rediscover and reengage the echo to preserve the American experiment. This involves many voices in a pluralistic society. We must reject the gag order of political correctness and have the conversation. Forced conformity, moral nihilism, utopian social planning, and the raw use of governmental power to build a better world has never yielded a good result. Only a people who together hear the echo of foundational objective truths can self-govern. We must become that people once again. America is at risk. When the echo dies, so does America.

Book Synopsis Waiting for the Echo by : Patricia J Bruno
Download or read book Waiting for the Echo written by Patricia J Bruno and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2007-05 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Waiting for the Echo transcends influences from Catholicism and my experience as a nun. Just as profound love has the transforming and healing power to integrate people as religious and sexual beings, this poetry integrates religion, spirituality, and sexuality. Perhaps going public with these very personal poems will touch other hearts in the universe - hearts that need to know they are not alone in their experience of all levels of love, loss, and life. It became important for me to share this loving tribute to my creative feminine energy, and legacy to life, when the events of September 11, 2001 seemed to destroy the poetry of life for many of us. No one can destroy what is in our hearts. I share these poems from the fullness of my heart. May Waiting for the Echo help rebirth the poetry of our lives as spiritual beings learning to be human.
