Book Synopsis A Literal Interpretation of the Messages Delivered to Daniel by : Dr. Albert Heaney
Download or read book A Literal Interpretation of the Messages Delivered to Daniel written by Dr. Albert Heaney and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-09-09 with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After completing a detailed study of the Book of Revelation and then writing the book entitled The Revelations and Warnings of Jesus to His Church, I was challenged by claims of modern-day scholars that additional revelations and modifications of some of the material found in the Book of Revelation could be found in the Book of Daniel. After my study of the Book of Revelation, I came to the conclusion that the Book of Revelation, which deals primarily with end-time events, is a complete book as it stands. All the major events that will occur in the end-times is listed, and the Book of Revelation as written is complete; no modifications or additions are needed. The book itself contains a warning that "if anyone adds to" or "takes away from the words of this prophecy," God will "take away his part from the tree of life" (Rev. 22:18, 19). A study of the Book of Daniel was necessary so as to discover the true messages found in the book and dispel the false messages some have claimed can be found in the book. The Book of Revelation clearly deals with end-time events whereas the Book of Daniel deals primarily with the events of God's people in Daniel's day. Although there are some general references to end-time events, the primary focus of the Book of Daniel deals with events of Daniel's day. The book shows the intimate relationship God has with His people as they go through the tragic times of their day. He first warns His people, then redeems them in the time of their deepest needs. 2
Book Synopsis THE BABYLONIAN EMPIRE by : Edward D. Andrews
Download or read book THE BABYLONIAN EMPIRE written by Edward D. Andrews and published by Christian Publishing House. This book was released on 2024-10-22 with total page 379 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Babylonian Empire, one of the greatest civilizations in human history, left an enduring legacy of cultural achievements, monumental architecture, and military conquests. But beyond its impressive power and influence, Babylon holds a pivotal place in the biblical narrative, serving both as a historical empire and a profound symbol of human defiance against Jehovah. In The Babylonian Empire, Edward D. Andrews offers a detailed exploration of Babylon’s rise to dominance, its lasting impact on the ancient world, and its role in Scripture. From the grandeur of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign to the empire’s prophesied fall, this book presents a compelling study of Babylon’s influence on Israel, its connections to biblical prophecy, and the divine sovereignty that ultimately led to its destruction. Combining historical scholarship with a deep respect for Scripture, this book delves into the Babylonian religious practices, the significance of its kings, and its place as a tool of judgment in Jehovah’s hand. Readers will gain a clearer understanding of how Babylon’s story is woven into the broader redemptive plan of God, revealing timeless lessons about human pride, idolatry, and the ultimate triumph of Jehovah’s kingdom. Whether you are a student of ancient history or biblical prophecy, The Babylonian Empire provides fresh insights into one of the most powerful empires the world has ever known and the divine purposes it served in the unfolding of God’s plan for His people.

Book Synopsis The Man of Sin by : Kim Riddlebarger
Download or read book The Man of Sin written by Kim Riddlebarger and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2006-06-01 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The doctrine of the Antichrist is one of the most interesting doctrines found in Scripture, says author Kim Riddlebarger. Unfortunately, it's also one which has been subject to far more speculation than sound biblical exegesis. Until now. Unlike other resources available on the Antichrist, The Man of Sin focuses on Scripture, not contemporary events, to uncover the truth about this mysterious entity. With skilled exegesis Riddlebarger asserts that, contrary to popular speculation, the Antichrist is not a singular individual but a series of beings that will arise to challenge Christ throughout the inter-advental age before culminating in an end-times Antichrist. Backing this claim first in Scripture, Riddlebarger also draws from historical teachings including those of the church fathers, the Reformation, and historic Protestantism, before contrasting this evidence to the sensational interpretations of many contemporary writers. Pastors, teachers, and study groups wanting to understand the doctrine of the Antichrist will find The Man of Sin to be a unique and comprehensive study.

Book Synopsis The Woman Babylon and the Marks of Empire by : Shanell T. Smith
Download or read book The Woman Babylon and the Marks of Empire written by Shanell T. Smith and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2014-10-01 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The “Great Whore” of the Book of Revelation—the hostile symbolization used to illustrate the author’s critique of empire—has attracted considerable attention in Revelation scholarship. Feminist scholar Tina Pippin criticizes the use of gendered metaphors—“Babylon” as a tortured woman—which she asserts reflect an inescapably androcentric, even misogynistic, perspective. Alternatively, Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza understands John’s rhetoric and imagery not simply in gendered terms, but in political terms as well, observing that “Babylon” relies on conventionally coded feminine language for a city. Shanell T. Smith seeks to dismantle the either/or dichotomy within the “Great Whore” debate by bringing the categories of race/ethnicity and class to bear on John’s metaphors. Her socio-cultural context impels her to be sensitive to such categories, and, therefore, leads her to hold the two elements, “woman” and “city,” in tension, rather than privileging one over the other. Using postcolonial womanist interpretation of the woman Babylon, Smith highlights the simultaneous duality of her characterization—her depiction as both a female brothel slave and as an empress or imperial city. Most remarkably, however, Smith’s reading also sheds light on her own ambivalent characterization as both a victim and participant in empire.
Book Synopsis Abingdon Old Testament Commentaries: Jeremiah by : Louis Stulman
Download or read book Abingdon Old Testament Commentaries: Jeremiah written by Louis Stulman and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Abingdon Old Testament Commentaries provide compact, critical commentaries on the books of the Old Testament for the use of theological students and pastors. The commentaries are also useful for upper-level college or university students and for those responsible for teaching in congregational settings. In addition to providing basic information and insights into the Old Testament writings, these commentaries exemplify the tasks and procedures of careful interpretation, to assist students of the Old Testament in coming to an informed and critical engagement with the biblical texts themselves.Jeremiah has a reputation for being one of the most difficult books in the Bible to read. Despite its dense and jumbled appearance, Stulman shows that Jeremiah is far more than a random accumulation of miscellaneous materials. Jeremiah is an artistic and symbolic tapestry held together by prose seams. In the first commentary to give the prose literature such strong attention, Stulman explains how the prophetic book reenacts the dismantling of Israel's most cherished social and symbolic systems. In doing so it speaks poignantly of the horrors of war and military occupation, as well as the resultant despair and anger. Siege and deportation, however, do not signal the end for the people of God. As Jeremiah unfolds, seeds of hope begin to emerge. Such hope asserts that massive wreckage does not nullify God's love, that oppressive and murderous forces will not ultimately triumph, and that the suffering and sovereign God will sculpt new beginnings out of the ruin of fallen worlds.

Download or read book Demystify Sin 5.0 written by Ola Faseku and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2020-02-18 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The enemy is among us, waging a war of world political domination against us. We must fight to strike it at its core, or else we will be in serious trouble. The Demystify Sin spiritual manual series deals with a simple brand of truth that exposes the deep darkness and equips us to overcome it in our objective reality. It discusses practical techniques to help us stand on our feet spiritually. This volume explores spiritual dynamics leading to a clear and potentially grave destination as predefined in the Word of God. It serves as the Spirit of God shining the light of the Word into the darkness, revealing the enemy at work, and it offers ways to defend ourselves against that enemy. God has called and appointed author Ola Faseku to undermine and expose the darkness, and Jesus Christ gave him wisdom, revelation, knowledge, and understanding of scriptures and the times, which he shares as truth without fear. This spiritual guide tells how we will deal with the antichrist and his war that is in progress; how we will contain and dismantle Babylon: satan’s kingdom of darkness on earth.
