PANTHER JUMPED INTO MY ARMS AND SAID. “COME ON ADAM EVERYONE’S WAITING AND WE HAVE THINGS PLANNED FOR THIS MORNING, AND WHY IS IT YOU ARE ALWAYS THE LAST TO APPEAR.” “I AM SORRY BUT MARY AND I HAVE BEEN TALKING.” “YEAH, YOU’RE ALWAYS TALKING, CHATTER AND MORE CHATTER.” “THAT’S ENOUGH FROM YOU YOUNG MAN,” I SAID AS I DROPPED HIM ONTO THE CARPET WHEREBY HE AND HAMISH SCAMPERED INTO THE DINING ROOM INFORMING THE REST OF THE FAMILY WE WERE COMING. I LOOKED OVER AND SAW FATS WHO HAD A BIG GRIN FROM EAR TO EAR. I THOUGHT WHAT’S HE GOT TO BE SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS TIME OF THE MORNING. PERSONALLY, FOR MYSELF I DIDN’T FEEL IN THE MOOD CONSIDERING MARY WAS INTERFERING IN MY THOUGHT PATTERNS MAKING ME WELL AWARE THAT I WOULD NEED TO TELL THEM WHAT SAINT BERNADETTE DISCUSSED WITH ME. I DECIDED TO SIT AND GET BREAKFAST OVER WITH AND TRY AND FIND A SOLUTION. IT WAS TIME TO FIND A SOLUTION I NEEDED TO SET UP A DIALOGUE WITH MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY ESPECIALLY NOW THE GEESE ARE FLYING AROUND. WHAT’S THAT ALL ABOUT, WHY?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Divine Intimacy is considered a classic throughout the Christian world, a work prepared with loving and conscientious labor by one of the great Catholic teachers of our time. This revision of his famous works vibrates with the freshness of the springtime of grace stirred up by Vatican II and inspired by the renewed impulse to a more vital return to Sacred Scripture. Of all the books of meditation available today, this series is the most practical, liturgically and spiritually formative, and helpful for true communion with God. Volume III covers from the Ninth Sunday through the Twenty-first week of Ordinary Time.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Man Ray (1890-1976) has long been considered one of the most versatile and innovative artists of the twentieth century. As a painter, writer, sculptor, photographer, and filmmaker, he is best known for his intimate association with the French Surrealist group in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s, particularly for his highly inventive and unconventional photographic images. These remarkable accomplishments, however, have tended to overshadow the importance of his earlier work--significant not only for comprehending Man Ray's future artistic development, but also for fleshing out our understanding of the visual arts in America during one of the most important and crucial phases of the evolution of modernism. The book, and the exhibition for which this work will serve as the catalog, concentrate on Man Ray's production from 1907 to 1917. Conversion to Modernism will be the first comprehensive, fully illustrated work to examine this artist's seminal years. The show and the catalog begin with Man Ray's high school years in Brooklyn, his studies at the Art Students League and the American Academy in New York, and the time he spent in life drawing classes at the more progressive Ferrer Center From 1913 to 1915, Man Ray lived in a small artists' colony in Grantwood, New Jersey. It was here, studying with Samuel Halpert (a former student of Matisse), that Man Ray began to become the artist we know today. The last section of the show and of the book include recently discovered photographs and other works that are influenced by a knowledge of the emergent Dada movement. Here is Man Ray in recognizable form just before he leaves the country for France in 1921. This exhibit will first be on display at the Montclair Art Museum from January 26 through March 2003. It will then travel to museums in Athens, Georgia, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

This book was released on 2013-06-06 with total page 746 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The president of the United States traditionally serves as a symbol of power, virtue, ability, dominance, popularity, and patriarchy. In recent years, however, the high-profile candidacies of Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, and Michelle Bachmann have provoked new interest in gendered popular culture and how it influences Americans' perceptions of the country's highest political office. In this timely volume, editors Justin S. Vaughn and Lilly J. Goren lead a team of scholars in examining how the president and the first lady exist as a function of public expectations and cultural gender roles. The authors investigate how the candidates' messages are conveyed, altered, and interpreted in "hard" and "soft" media forums, from the nightly news to daytime talk shows, and from tabloids to the blogosphere. They also address the portrayal of the presidency in film and television productions such as Kisses for My President (1964), Air Force One (1997), and Commander in Chief (2005). With its strong, multidisciplinary approach, Women and the White House commences a wider discussion about the possibility of a female president in the United States, the ways in which popular perceptions of gender will impact her leadership, and the cultural challenges she will face.
