Book Synopsis Operational Plan by : Holly I. Dickson
Download or read book Operational Plan written by Holly I. Dickson and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2020 through 2023, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Division of Sport Fish (SF) will issue separate sport and subsistence permits that will be required to participate in the noncommercial Tanner crab fisheries in Cook Inlet and the North Gulf Coast. The permit will include a harvest reporting form and permit holders must report the content of the form at the end of the season. Permittees will be informed of the reporting requirement upon receiving a permit and will also receive a reminder to report within 2 weeks of the season closure. Those who miss the deadline will have the opportunity to submit an appeal. Failure to report (FTR) lists will be established for the sport and subsistence fisheries for individual permit holders who do not report or whose appeal is not approved. Individuals on the FTR lists will be ineligible to receive a permit the following season. Permit reports will be used to estimate harvest within Kachemak Bay for both sport and subsistence fisheries and total harvest in the Cook Inlet and North Gulf Coast areas. Effort will be indexed by estimating successful days of crabbing per permits issued. Total harvest and effort will be estimated for nonrespondents by expanding harvest reports received after the reporting deadline and prior to the close of the appeals period.
