During that period he briefly visited San Diego and San Bernardino, California. In the middle of October Brother Lee traveled to the Far East and remained there until the first part of November. During that period he visited Taipei, Taiwan, and then Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. In the middle of November he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 15 through September 26. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Prophecy of the Four "Sevens" in the Bible and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Ten messages given in San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley, California, on August 24 through September 2. They were previously published in a book entitled The Economy and Dispensing of God and are included in this volume under the same title. Chapters 1 through 4 and 6 were spoken in Chinese. 3. Four messages given in San Francisco and Berkeley, California, on August 26 through September 3. The eight sections that constitute this volume are composed largely of messages that were given during the summer training held in Los Angeles and Altadena, California, from July 13 through August 22. The training covered four main areas: life, truth, the church, and service. The messages on life and on truth were given in the evening of each Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, and the messages on the church and on service were given in the evening of each Thursday. The messages given in the evening focused on these four main areas, and the messages given in the morning were devoted to fellowship concerning personal problems, spiritual problems, the church, the local churches, the Lord's Day gathering, practical service, prayer, and Christian practices. The contents of this volume are as follows: 1. Eighteen messages concerning life given on July 13 through August 20 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles of the Experience of Life. One message, chapter 9, is included also in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, volume 3, as chapter 8 of Our Human Spirit. 2. The five messages on truth given on July 13 through 22 as part of the summer training. Four of these messages have been published previously under the title The Building of God. However, in researching for The Collected Works, a fifth message was discovered. 3. Six messages on service given on July 18 through August 22 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles for the Service in theChurch Life. Chapters 1 through 3 are included also in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969, volume 1, as chapters 6 through 8 of To Serve in the Human Spirit. 4. Six messages on the church given on July 18 through August 22 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles for the Practice of the Church Life. 5. Messages 6 through 13 of the messages on truth given from July 23 through August 3 as part of the Summer Training. These messages have been published under the title The Work of the Holy Spirit. 6. Messages 14 through 18 of the messages on truth given from August 6 through 13 as part of the Summer Training. These messages have been published under the title A Brief Definition of the Kingdom of the Heavens. 7. Fourteen miscellaneous messages given in Los Angeles between July 16 and September 1. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages. 8. Miscellaneous fellowship given by Brother Lee to the saints in the Los Angeles area from July 19 through August 24. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Speakings. The contents of this section were composed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. Brother Lee gave four additional messages in Los Angeles during this period of time--on July 26 and August 9, 14, and 20--for which no record has been found.

Brother Lee remained in Taipei, Taiwan, until September 11, 1975, after which he traveled to Seoul, Korea, and Tokyo, Japan. There is no record of his speaking in the latter two cities. In mid-September he returned to Anaheim, California, and at the end of September he ministered in Berkeley, California. He then returned to Anaheim and ministered there until mid-November, whereupon he visited San Diego, California, and returned to Anaheim until the end of the third week in November. At the end of the month he gave a weekend conference in Dallas, Texas, and he returned to Anaheim in early December and remained there until the end of 1976. The contents of this volume are divided into twelve sections, as follows: 1. Seven messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 19 through 26, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Central Vision for Serving the Church. 2. Two messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 26 through 31, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese in a book entitled The Testimony of Jesus Christ--the Church in Revelation. 3. Five messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 27 through 30, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled Serving in the Flow of the Age. 4. One message given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on September 1, 1975. It is included in this volume under the title The Proper Exercise of the Young People in the Church. 5. Ten messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on September 1 through 5, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Revelation of the Mystery. 6. Two messages given in Berkeley, California, on September 27 and 28, 1975. The contents of these messages were taken from personal notes taken by one of the attendees. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages in Berkeley. 7. One message given in Anaheim, California, on October 10, 1975. This message was originally published in a separate booklet entitled The Revelation of the Triune God according to the Pure Word of the Bible and is included in this volume under the same title. In 1990 Brother Lee spoke forty-six messages that were published in the Life-study of Deuteronomy and the Life-study of Isaiah. These Life-study messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. During the first three months of 1990 Brother Lee was in Anaheim, California. In early April he traveled to Taipei, Taiwan, and at the end of that month he visited Hualien, Taiwan. He returned to Anaheim in the first part of May and remained there until the end of the third week in August. During that time he visited Long Beach, California. At the end of August Brother Lee visited San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley, California. In early September he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the middle of October. During that period he briefly visited San Diego and San Bernardino, California. In the middle of October Brother Lee traveled to the Far East and remained there until the first part of November. During that period he visited Taipei and then Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching, and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. In the middle of November he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into seven sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-four messages given in Anaheim, California, on January 7 through October 7, 1990. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Anaheim Meetings and Fellowships. 2. Thirteen messages given in Anaheim, California, on January 9 through August 21, 1990. These messages are included in this volume under the title Bearing Remaining Fruit for the Lord's Pleasure. 3. Four messages given in Anaheim, California, on January 26 through 28, 1990. These messages were previously published in a book entitled God's Way in Life and are included in this volume under the same title. 4. Three messages given in Anaheim, California, on January 29 through June 16, 1990. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Instruction and Exhortation to the Trainees and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, from late July through the middle of November, Brother Lee visited the Far East. From July 25 through August 22 he was in Taiwan, where he was joined by over one hundred forty brothers and sisters from the United States and Canada, along with some saints from Brazil, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Denmark, and West Germany. He then visited Manila, Philippines; Singapore; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Hong Kong. There is no record of his speaking in any of these places. He returned to Taipei in late September, where he remained until early November. Subsequently, he visited Toyama and Tokyo, Japan, before returning to Los Angeles in the middle of the month. There is no record of his speaking in Japan. He remained in Los Angeles for two weeks and then visited San Francisco, California; Vancouver, Canada; and Seattle, Washington, during the next two weeks. There is no record of his speaking in Vancouver or Seattle. Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles from mid-December until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Twelve messages given during a training for young people in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 6 through 10. These messages were published previously in Chinese under the title The Lord's Recovery and the Fulfillment of God's Desire. The last two spoken messages were combined. 2. Nine messages given in co-workers' and elders' meetings in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 13 through 17, and in a farewell meeting on August 22. They are included in this volume under the title Turning to the Age of the Spirit. 3. Three messages given to the co-workers and elders in Taiwan in August and September. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fighting for the Truth. 4. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan. The first seven messages were given in island-wide elders' meetings in late September, and the subsequent two messages were given in a church meeting on November 3 and a service meeting on November 4, respectively. Of the first seven messages, the second was previously published as chapter 6 of the book entitled Character. The final message, which appeared in Church News, number 15, November 1968, consists of a report concerning the background of the two messages given on November 3 and 4. The ten messages in this section were published previously in Chinese under the title The Motive, Coordination, and Function of the Lord's Serving Ones. 5. Several messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in September and October. These messages were compiled and published as a single message in The Ministry of the Word, number 211, January 1969. This message is included in this volume under the title The Practice of the Pray-reading Meeting. 6. Four messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, from October 19 through 22. These messages are published in this volume under the title Gospel Messages. 7. Five messages given in Los Angeles, California, from November 22 through 24. These messages are included in this volume under the title Growing in Life and Serving the Lord for the Building Up of the Church as His Testimony. The final two messages were combined. 8. Fifteen messages given in San Francisco, California, from November 28 through December 1. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in San Francisco. 9. Eight messages given in Los Angeles, California, on December 19 through 21. These messages are published in this volume under the title Speaking Christ to Build Up the Church for the Accomplishment of God's Eternal Purpose. 10.
