Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Renewal Theology deals with the full range of Christian truth from within the charismatic tradition. Previously published as three separate volumes, Renewal Theology represents the first exhaustive, balanced articulation of charismatic theology. Renewal Theology discusses: Book One--God, the World, and Redemption - Book Two--Salvation, the Holy Spirit, and Christian Living - Book Three--The Church, the Kingdom, and Last Things. As theology, this work is an intellectual achievement. But it is much more than that. The author urges the church to undertake its task of theology in the proper spirit: - an attitude of prayer - a deepening sense of reverence - an ever-increasing purity of heart - a spirit of growing love - a theological approach rooted in the glory of God. Done in such a spirit, theology becomes a faithful and powerful witness to the living God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Summer Theme: God Genesis | Exodus | Proverbs | Hebrews | Joshua | Psalms |John Romans | Deuteronomy | Habakkuk | Acts This fall, our lessons focus on God, what it means that we are created in God's image, and what it means to worship God alone. The writer of the student book lessons is Clara Welch; the teacher book writer is Stan Purdum. God, the Creator This unit takes us through texts that help us discern what "Godness" is. The readings from Genesis present the Lord as the divine initiator of the cosmos and as the creator of humankind. The Exodus text reminds us that God is not limited to what we can know of or imagine about God, and that mystery remains part of God's nature. In Lesson 4, we learn about Wisdom as an essential part of who God is. And Lesson 5, invites us to consider Christ's role with God in the world's creation. These lessons encourage us to develop the spiritual practice of mindfulness. In God's Image This unit focuses on the human condition. Lesson 6 recalls the story of the sin of Achan, reminding us of the chasm sin imposes between ourselves and our Creator. Lesson 7 takes us to Psalm 51, which is a prayer that models the nature of penitence that asks God to bridge the breach caused by sin. Lesson 8 lets us hear Jesus talking about being born anew and how that provides entry into the kingdom of God. Lesson 9 takes us to a text in Romans, which enables us to consider what the redeemed life looks like. These lessons help us focus on the spiritual practice of confession. Worship This unit unites around the theme "objects of worship," with "objects" meaning not worship aids, such as candles and paraments, but those things we place ahead of God. In Lesson 10, we look at the first two of the Ten Commandments. Lesson 11 takes us to the story of the gold calf and gives us a chance to think about why we may deliberately choose to worship that which is not God. Lesson 12 reminds us that nothing we worship other than God can impart life. And Lesson 13 invites us to understand that the worship impulse is only satisfied when it is directed toward God. These lessons lead us deeper into the spiritual practice of worship. Published quarterly, each week's student book lesson features key verses, reliable and relevant biblical explanation and application, and more. Now, in response to feedback, we are introducing new features and benefits for students including: A comprehensive Bible study plan with more flexibility in terms of Scripture selection and topics. Observation of the church seasons, including Advent and Lent. Suggestions for developing spiritual practices (prayer, confession, worship, mindfulness, solitude, community, hospitality, neighboring, service, and celebration). One font size in the student edition to accommodate all readers. No printed Scripture text allowing you to choose your own Bible translation. Book excerpt: Without a doubt, there are many passages in the Bible which we do not fully understand today, and will not until we are in Heaven with the Lord (1 Corinthians 13:9 - 12). The purpose of this book is not, therefore, to attempt to answer every question or solve every issue which may arise as we read the Bible. In this book, we will look at every passage in the New Testament in which the word “mystery” appears. The truths and events which the Bible refers to as mysteries are now revealed and explained for us. As we look at each of these, we will discover something of God’s Plan for the ages and we will see just where we fit into that plan. And, we will see that the truths and events which in God’s wisdom were once concealed are now No Longer A Mystery.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christ himself warns us to not to believe a secret rapture. Rapture will happen only after Israel becomes a Christian nation. Two olive trees and two lampstands, representatives of the church during tribulation. The church knows the times of his coming back. It’s not anti-Christ being withheld. Noah and Lot’s days, an evidence for public coming. The Day of the Lord will come as a thief even after the so-called secret rapture. Resurrection of the people of God and the end of the world will happen on the same day. The Second Advent accompanied by loud command, the voice, and the trumpet of God, and resurrection occurs at the same moment is a solid prove for the public coming. For the church, rapture day is not an immediate surprising day. Meaning of nobody knows the day or the hour. Meaning of the idiom of carcass and the vultures. The Day of the Lord is the day Paul awaits for the crown of righteousness. An immediate cosmic change occurs at the rapture. Rapture will be a visual event. Rapture will happen on the last day of human history. The second raw resurrection happens at the end of the tribulation. Our gathering unto him in the air will happen only after the man of lawlessness appear. The wedding of the Lamb occurs after tribulation. Surprising invitees. The earth, venue for the marriage supper of the Lamb - Such truths are being discussed in this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sometimes the best way to let one know what something is, is to let one know what it isn’t. Today’s typical academic book in eschatology provides the reader with a brief history of the various positions in the field followed by why certain positions should be considered the better options. This is not that book. Over the course of twelve chapters, six sequences will be presented from the three major sources in the New Testament regarding the subject, i.e., Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians, the Olivet Discourse, and John’s visions in Revelation. Through a careful reconciliation of those six sequences, Dr. Steven R. Bates will show that there’s only one sequence of end-times, which he has labeled “The Post-Armageddon, Premillennial Resurrection.” He asserts that had any other sequence of end-times been correct, whether pre-tribulationism, pre-wrath, mid-tribulationism, historic pre-millennialism, post-millennialism, a-millennialism, preterism, or any other sequence that one could possibly imagine, then the proponents of that postulation should be able to take the same six sequences from Scripture and reconcile them precisely with one another, sentence by sentence, and prove whatever sequence they propose. But, of course, no one will ever attempt such an endeavor because it’s theoretically impossible. Scripture’s six sequences only confirm one sequence, and it is the one which has been presented in The Sequence.
