Throughout the day he heard from multiple speakers and trainers who shared information about how to help other people with the services that company offered. The information was so closely aligned with the structure taught by Jesus to the twelve disciples that he walked up to the main speaker and asked, "Jesus was the first network marketer wasn't He?" The speaker looked right at him and said "You figured it out". That one moment changed his life forever. This vision to help Network Marketers understand Christianity and Christians understand Network Marketing has taken over 6 years to get out of his head. We are finally excited to announce this book is available.

Book excerpt: In the second half of the nineteenth century Scottish Baptists like other Evangelical Protestant denominations were focusing more on things they had in common, such as a commitment to home evangelization and church-planting; providing a common fund to assist small and struggling congregations; the provision of theological education for the training of prospective pastors, together with the need to disseminate information between the churches concerning their progress in the work of the gospel. From the start of this Baptist Union in 1869 the numbers of churches and members grew steadily until 1935. It was a remarkable story of dedicated Christian service. Scottish Baptists came through two world wars, the social revolution of the 1960s, and the materialistic emphases of the 1980s with a significant degree of success in adapting their evangelistic activities to relate to their social context. There is little doubt that from the late 1980s the growing secularization in this country ensured that mission strategies adopted by these Scottish Christians were less successful than in previous decades. However, a revitalization of its work in the early years of the twenty-first century has given renewed grounds for hope for its work and witness in the coming years.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At Jesus's birth, angels rejoiced, singing, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men" (Luke 2:14). Satan, on the other hand, trembled, for he suspected the reason for Jesus's arrival. He came to destroy the devil's work (1 John 3:8). When humanity crucified God's Son, Satan believed the turn of events tipped in his favor. So, he thought. The Forensic Case for Fivefold Leadership reveals how the Lord has gifted his people with supernatural tools "to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature" (Eph. 4:12-13 NIV).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "You can buy The Narrow Path to Expansive Vision online at any major online bookstore, or through the Westbow website." We live in a country deeply divided politically and culturally, and the chasm widens and deepens with each passing day. As a society, it seems like there is an increasing tendency to follow the wrong things and the wrong people. So where do we turn to find a leadership example in an “all about me” world? How do you live and lead a narrow-path (yet not narrow-minded) life in a wide-path world and society? You turn to the greatest leadership example in history: Jesus Christ. This may seem like an obvious answer, but it is not. In conducting original research for the book The Narrow Path to Expansive Vision, RD (Randy) Oostra completed a national online survey of business leaders, including those who identified as Christian leaders. One question on the survey asked those who identified as Christian leaders to name their top three leaders of all time. Only 13 percent mentioned Christ as one of their top three leaders. In addition, only 43 percent of these Christian leaders considered themselves to be servant leaders. As The Narrow Path to Expansive Vision unfolds, it weaves a narrative of Randy’s personal journey growing up in a rigorous Dutch Reformation background to his life as a CEO of a national health and well-being organization. Randy tells his story of how he has lived in and navigated through the science-based world of health care, as well as his frustrations with a Church leadership that frankly has not always been helpful in meeting the challenges he faced as a business leader, and in life in general. Based on these experiences, Randy offers a foundational approach to leadership inspired by the example of Christ. It is a hopeful message that both believers and non-believers will find meaningful and useful.

Book excerpt: Taking its inspiration from Michel Foucault, this volume of essays integrates the analysis of security into the study of modern political and cultural theory. Explaining how both politics and security are differently problematised by changing accounts of time, the work shows how, during the course of the 17th century, the problematisation of government and rule became newly enframed by a novel account of time and human finitude, which it calls ‘factical finitude’. The correlate of factical finitude is the infinite, and the book explains how the problematisation of politics and security became that of securing the infinite government of finite things. It then explains how concrete political form was given to factical finitude by a combination of geopolitics and biopolitics. Modern sovereignty required the services of biopolitics from the very beginning. The essays explain how these politics of security arose at the same time, changed together, and have remained closely allied ever since. In particular, the book explains how biopolitics of security changed in response to the molecularisation and digitalisation of Life, and demonstrates how this has given rise to the dangers and contradictions of 21st century security politics. This book will be of much interest to students of political and cultural theory, critical security studies and International Relations.
