Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sex, Money and Murder in 1980s LA and New York: In 1987 a heroin addict murdered an Emmy Award-winning choreographer in Manhattan. Then a wealthy LA surgeon and his teenaged son were targeted. In 1991, an out-of-work redneck flew to London with cyanide to poison three members of a male exotic dance review. If the poison didn't work, he was told to use a hammer to beat them to death. Who was behind these seemingly unrelated horrific crimes? Deadly Dance tells the fascinating story of Steve Banerjee, founder and owner of the smash LA nightclub, Chippendales. In the post-pill, pre-AIDS, sex-filled LA club scene of the 1980s, celebrities, desperate housewives and wild bachelorettes converged on one place: Chippendales-and behind it all was arson, the Mob and murder.
Book Synopsis CHIPPENDALES TRUE CRME STORY by : Jesse Banerjee and Thomas R. Kennedy
Download or read book CHIPPENDALES TRUE CRME STORY written by Jesse Banerjee and Thomas R. Kennedy and published by Jesse Banerjee. This book was released on 2021-12-30 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High flying melodramas are the types of events that really hold our attention. We soaked up the Versace series, then the Getty series, the House of Gucci movie, and recently fans have been absorbed in Curse of the Chippendales. All of these stories had phenomenal rises to fame, to end so tragically. The worse ending of all these types of tales has to be the Chippendales story. Steve Banerjee, an immigrant from Mumbai, arrived on the shores of California, to get slave wages for doing menial jobs, to whirlwind success. Without even knowing it, he helped women that were liberating themselves to feel more liberated as they were able to fondle G-stringed gentalia without any fear of persecution. Then this gentle soul was accused of murder, and found dead, hung in a prison cell. Was his death a suicide or murder? As many question whether Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide or was he silenced for knowing about too many powerful men’s secret affairs with under-aged girls. The same types of question are now arising in Banerjee’s suicide. Did he have too much information on married men’s fetishes with his male dancers? Before Chippendales, men taking their clothes off for an unrestrained crowd of women wasn’t popular, but after Steve introduced his choreographed male strippers, gyrating into the imagination of women, it became a household name. Women of the 80’s, that were freeing their minds, bodies and souls from tryrannical husbands in a world that thought of them as second class citizens, Chippendales became a way for them to let their hair down, a Girl’s Night Out! Jesse, Steve’s oldest son, was only a teenager during the height of this explosion. He watched his father build Chippendales, piece by piece of a man’s clothing flying toward a desirous woman. The rise would be magnificent, the ride famous, but the fall very tragic. It was reported that Steve committed suicide to avoid a long prison sentence for the murder of his partner, Nick DeNoia. Jesse knows another story that the perpetrators never want to be told about how the Chippendales Empire just happen to fall into the hands of an FBI agent, and all the powerbrokers: lawyers, Casino owners, and the mob, that would gain control. Jesse has watched other people, far too many years, profit from the idea his dad created. His stepmother, Irene, lied to him about the role he would play in the company after Steve’s death. After this promise didn’t come to fruition, Jesse began to ask questions about his father’s fortune as was his right as an heir, and was threatened by Irene’s brother-in-law, an FBI agent. Jesse was told in no uncertain terms that he wouldn’t be receiving anything. Many stories have been told about Chippendales, all of them are mostly the narratives of the perpetrators that stole the empire, and cleverly they have managed to make their story very believable and credible. Silenced by intimidation, threats, and a corrupt Justice system, not anymore. For the first time, Jesse is revealing the true story in Bowtie Legacy.

Book Synopsis imwe imba - the other room by : Munashe Wadzanai
Download or read book imwe imba - the other room written by Munashe Wadzanai and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2022-11-02 with total page 534 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Munashe is a bright adolescent girl living in Zimbabwe. She feels a pressure to leave Zimbabwe and to follow most of her peers to a university or to work in the West. However, she is not convinced that this is what she really wants. Via Thomas, an experienced European scientist and manager, initiating a technical Start-up Hub at her boarding school, Munashe comes in contact with Anne. Imwe imba - the other room - is a novel covering the last 2 high-school years of Munashe and Anne in letters between the young women as well as from Thomas to Simon, his now retired personal and business coach. Through the letters, Anne and Simon discover unknown and fascinating aspects of the (southern) African society. Especially, since Thomas includes stories from Nelson, Munashe's grandfather and small holder farmer. Based on the stories and hearing about Munashe's activities in more technical projects, Anne develops a critical attitude towards both the current Western school system and the effectiveness of traditional Western development or aid projects. On the other side, Munashe learns that Europe is not the land of milk and honey for everybody. Munashe and Anne, assisted by Thomas, review the so-called development work activities in emerging markets and propose a promising approach to economically uplift more rural areas. In part 2, the Start-up Hub activities are proven to be sustainable and Munashe asks "where do we want to go?" A design is made for a more ideal (global) society and the issues faced, implementing their ideas, are discussed. The letters in this novel cover a wide spectrum of topics: personal struggles and contemplations, educational and business practices, science and art, geopolitics and historical backgrounds, change management as well as social developments. Each letter is written in an accessible language and underlined with references to allow the reader to explore more. Most of all, "imwe imba" wants to create awareness. Awareness for the wonderful, "real" life in Africa. Awareness that Africa is prosperity. Awareness that our younger generation is perfectly able to initiate change. That a single person can initiate change. That complaining or being upset about various (unacceptable) global happenings or actions is not enough. That a further polarisation and blaming "the others" doesn't help. That we have to do things. That we should not fear change but embrace the changes that are needed to come to the necessary improvements.

Book Synopsis Hos, Hookers, Call Girls, and Rent Boys by : David Henry Sterry
Download or read book Hos, Hookers, Call Girls, and Rent Boys written by David Henry Sterry and published by Catapult. This book was released on 2009-07-07 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The only thing the writers in this book have in common is that they've exchanged sex for money. They're PhDs and dropouts, soccer moms and jailbirds, $2,500-a-night call girls and $10 crack hos, and everything in between. This anthology lends a voice to an underrepresented population that is simultaneously reviled and worshipped. Hos, Hookers, Call Girls, and Rent Boys is a collection of short memoirs, rants, confessions, nightmares, journalism, and poetry covering life, love, work, family, and yes, sex. The editors gather pieces from the world of industrial sex, including contributions from art-porn priestess Dr. Annie Sprinkle, best-selling memoirist David Henry Sterry (Chicken: Self-Portrait of a Young Man for Rent), sex activist and musical diva Candye Kane, women and men right off the streets, girls participating in the first-ever National Summit of Commercially Sexually Exploited Youth, and Ruth Morgan Thomas, one of the organizers of the European Sex Work, Human Rights, and Migration Conference. Sex is a billion-dollar industry. Meet the real people who are its flesh and blood.
Book Synopsis Propaganda and Information Warfare in the Twenty-First Century by : Scot Macdonald
Download or read book Propaganda and Information Warfare in the Twenty-First Century written by Scot Macdonald and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2006-12-05 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book to analyze how the technology to alter images and rapidly distribute them can be used for propaganda and to support deception operations. In the past, propagandists and those seeking to conduct deception operations used crude methods to alter images of real people, events and objects, which could usually be detected relatively easily. Today, however, computers allow propagandists to create any imaginable image, still or moving, with appropriate accompanying audio. Furthermore, it is becoming extremely difficult to detect that an image has been manipulated, and the Internet, television and global media make it possible to disseminate altered images around the world almost instantaneously. Given that the United States is the sole superpower, few, if any, adversaries will attempt to fight the US military conventionally on the battlefield. Therefore, adversaries will use propaganda and deception, especially altered images, in an attempt to level the battlefield or to win a war against the United States without even having to fight militarily. Propaganda and Information Warfare in the 21st Century will be of great interest to students of information war, propaganda, public diplomacy and security studies in general.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: He was a pillar of the community, serving on local committees, donating prizes to the rugby club, organising charity collections. His patients thought the world of him: he was attentive, kind, never too busy to chat. Yet Dr Harold Frederick Shipman was also the most prolific serial killer the world has ever known, with between 200 and 300 victims. Quietly, for many years, the small, bespectacled GP was making unexpected house calls - and walking out leaving a dead body behind. The murderous career of Dr Shipman only came to an end when police in Hyde, Greater Manchester, were called to investigate a forged will. Overnight, they found themselves embroiled in the biggest murder case in British history. Substantially revised and updated since Shipman's suicide in prison, this is a compelling account of these monstrous crimes and of the man who committed them. The authors have had unparalleled access to friends, colleagues and patients. Their in-depth and authoritative investigation looks at how he killed, how he was able to get away with it for so long, and - most important of all - why.

Book excerpt: A fully revised and updated edition to a classic bestseller, The Macho Paradox is the first book to show how violence against women is a men's issue—and how all genders can come together to stop it. From the #MeToo movement to current discussions about gender norms in schools, sports, politics, and media culture, The Macho Paradox incorporates the voices and experiences of the women, men, and others who have confronted the problem of gender violence from all angles. Bestselling author Jackson Katz is a pioneering educator and activist on the topic of men's violence against women. In this revised edition of his heralded book, Katz outlines the ways in which cultural ideas about "manhood" contribute to men's sexually harassing and abusive behaviors and that men have a positive role to play in challenging and changing the sexist cultural norms that too often lead to gender violence. This important book for abused women covers topics ranging from mental and emotional abuse to sexual harassment to domestic violence and is a vital read for women with controlling partners or as a self-help book for men. Praise for The Macho Paradox: "A candid look at the cultural factors that lend themselves to tolerance of abuse and violence against women."—Booklist "If only men would read Katz's book, it could serve as a potent form of male consciousness-raising."—Publishers Weekly "These pages will empower both men and women to end the scourge of male violence and abuse. Katz knows how to cut to the core of the issues, demonstrating undeniably that stopping the degradation of women should be every man's priority."—Lundy Bancroft, author of Why Does He Do That?: Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men
