Book Synopsis Micronutrients Intake and Status during Pregnancy and Lactation by : Louise Brough
Download or read book Micronutrients Intake and Status during Pregnancy and Lactation written by Louise Brough and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-04-29 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optimal nutrition is important during pregnancy and lactation for the health of both the mother and infant. Chronic deficiencies of both macronutrients and micronutrients are well established in developing countries. Although in developed countries overconsumption of macronutrients is a major issue, micronutrient deficiencies which occur concomitantly are no less of a concern. Furthermore in developed countries there is also the risk of excessive micronutrient intake from dietary supplements. Micronutrients have a role in fetal and neonatal health and also health in later life. Micronutrient deficiency or toxicity during pregnancy or early life can permanently affect developing tissues, resulting in adverse growth and development of the infant which is associated with chronic diseases in adulthood. An aberrant micronutrient intake during pregnancy or lactation can also have detrimental effect on the mother both in the neonatal period and in later life.

Download or read book A Father's Right written by Anthony Gallo and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2007-07-30 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A parent's greatest wish is to love and raise their children. When my daughter, Danielle, was born, I easily could have been the happiest man in the world. At that time, I never could have imagined that she would one day be ripped out of my life and legally kept away from me. For years, I went up against a biased and dysfunctional legal system, Family Court, which claims to have "the best interest of the children" in mind, yet has no consideration for fathers. My simple response to the flawed system's claim is that it takes two parents to serve the "best interest of the children". This story is about my fight for compassion and justice. It's about the startling and damaging effects of "Parent Alienation" on both me and my daughter. Ultimately, this book is a testament of my love for my beautiful little girl, Danielle, with whom I often daydream of meeting again.

Book Synopsis Advances on Broad-Band Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications by : Leonard Barolli
Download or read book Advances on Broad-Band Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications written by Leonard Barolli and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-10-25 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book states that information networks of today are going through a rapid evolution. Different kinds of networks with different characteristics are emerging and they are integrating in heterogeneous networks. For these reasons, there are many interconnection problems which may occur at different levels of the hardware and software design of communicating entities and communication networks. These kinds of networks need to manage an increasing usage demand, provide support for a significant number of services, guarantee their QoS, and optimize the network resources. The success of all-IP networking and wireless technology has changed the ways of living the people around the world. The progress of electronic integration and wireless communications is going to pave the way to offer people the access to the wireless networks on the fly, based on which all electronic devices will be able to exchange the information with each other in ubiquitous way whenever necessary. The aim of the book is to provide latest research findings, innovative research results, methods, and development techniques from both theoretical and practical perspectives related to the emerging areas of broad-band and wireless computing.

This book focuses on microbial biofilms and their potential technological applications for sustainable development. It covers recent advances in biofilm technologies for contaminant remediation coupled to recovery of resources and serves as a complete reference on the science and technology behind biofilm mediated bioremediation and wastewater treatment.
Book Synopsis Functional Inequalities: New Perspectives and New Applications by : Nassif Ghoussoub
Download or read book Functional Inequalities: New Perspectives and New Applications written by Nassif Ghoussoub and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2013-04-09 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The book describes how functional inequalities are often manifestations of natural mathematical structures and physical phenomena, and how a few general principles validate large classes of analytic/geometric inequalities, old and new. This point of view leads to "systematic" approaches for proving the most basic inequalities, but also for improving them, and for devising new ones--sometimes at will and often on demand. These general principles also offer novel ways for estimating best constants and for deciding whether these are attained in appropriate function spaces. As such, improvements of Hardy and Hardy-Rellich type inequalities involving radially symmetric weights are variational manifestations of Sturm's theory on the oscillatory behavior of certain ordinary differential equations. On the other hand, most geometric inequalities, including those of Sobolev and Log-Sobolev type, are simply expressions of the convexity of certain free energy functionals along the geodesics on the Wasserstein manifold of probability measures equipped with the optimal mass transport metric. Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg and Hardy-Rellich-Sobolev type inequalities are then obtained by interpolating the above two classes of inequalities via the classical ones of Hölder. The subtle Moser-Onofri-Aubin inequalities on the two-dimensional sphere are connected to Liouville type theorems for planar mean field equations."--Publisher's website.
Book Synopsis Energy, the Environment, and Sustainability by : Efstathios E. Michaelides
Download or read book Energy, the Environment, and Sustainability written by Efstathios E. Michaelides and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-04-27 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Energy and the Environment explains in simple terms what the energy demand is at the present, what the environmental effects of energy use are, and what can be accomplished to alleviate the environmental effects of energy use and ensure adequate energy supply. Though technical in approach, the text uses simple explanations of engineering processes and systems and algebra-based math to be comprehensible to students in a range of disciplines. Schematic diagrams, quantitative examples, and numerous problems will help students make quantitative calculations. This will assist them in comprehending the complexity of the energy-environment balance, and to analyze and evaluate proposed solutions.
