Instead, we take on their truth and put ourselves aside for a while. Beginning this wonderful journey called life. The Angels are here to remind you of the love and light you truly are. They constantly whisper in your ear guiding you along. Sending you signs and coincidences. That is them just playing. They love you. That is all they know how to do. As you read this book, open your heart and let them in. That they may grace you with infinite blessings. That is their most fervent wish.

THIS WOULD MAKE HIM ANGRY AND HE AND HIS WIFE WOULD HELP GET ME OUT OF THE BONDING BUSINESS. FIRST THE BOUNTY HUNTER WOULD MAKE SURE I HAD MY WEAPON THE WIFE WOULD PUSH ME AT THE JAIL, I WAS SUPPOSE TO PULL MY WEAPON AND BE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF A WEAPON BY A CONVICTED FELONY. IF THAT FAILED MY BROTHER WOULD THEN WRITE A LETTER TO THE INSURANCE DEPT. OF THE FELONY CHARGE AND THAT I WAS ALSO CARRYING A FIREARM. THE BOUNTY HUNTER HAD ALREADY RESEARCHED AND FOUND THE COURT DOCUMENT AND TO SUPPORT MY BROTHER'S ALLEGATION HE WOULD CONVENIENTLY DROP A COPY OFF TO THE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT A COPY OF A TWENTY EIGHT YEAR OLD FELONY CHARGE THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY I WORKED FOR KNEW ABOUT BEFORE HE HIRED ME AND GAVE ME A LICENSE. HE KNEW THE LAW CHANGED SIX MONTHS BEFORE HE GOT ME A LICENSE AND TOOK OUT TEN YEAR PRIOR AND PUT IN IF EVER HAD A FELONY. THIS WOULD BE INFORMATION HE WOULD HOLD ON TO JUST IN CASE HE NEEDED TO USE IT LATER AND HE DID. AND ALSO USED MY BROTHER AS A PASTY TO SET IT IN MOTION. HE WOULD THEN AVOID THE COURT HEARING AND TURN HIS BUSINESS OVER TO SOMEONE ELSE. IT DIDN'T BECOME MANDATORY FOR ME TO STUDY LAW TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER WHEN I RAN ACROSS THE LAW CHANGE I BROUGHT IT TO HIS ATTENTION, HE IN RETURN HAD ME TO READ THE PARAGRAPH UNDERNEATH IN PARENTHESIS THAT STATED ; UNLESS PRESENTLY LICENSE AS A BAIL AGENT. HE THEN REMINDED ME THAT I HAD HELD A LICENSE FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS, THEREFORE THIS LAW DID NOT APPLY TO ME. THE CONSPIRACY WAS EVERYONE KNEW THAT THIS FELONY CHARGE WAS A PROBLEM BUT ME AND EVERYONE HAD A PART TO PLAY TO ENFORCE THE LAW AND MAKE SURE I NEVER BOND AGAIN. WHAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WAS THIS WAS MORE OF A PERSONAL ISSUE THAN LEGAL. THAT I HAD AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH MY BOSS FOR SOME YEARS UNTIL HE BECAME TO ILL TO TRAVEL WHEN HE BECAME ANGRY WITH ME HE USED THE INFORMATION HE LEAD ME TO BELIEVE DID NOT APPLY TO ME AGAINST ME. HE USED EVERYONE AROUND HIM SO IT WOULD NOT APPEAR THAT HE HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS. HE USED THE BOUNTY HUNTER TO OBTAIN A COPY OF THE COURT DOCUMENT BECAUSE HE KNEW ABOUT THE CHARGE. HE USED MY BROTHER TO WRITE THE LETTER BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT ME TO KNOW HOW DIRTY HE WAS. HE HIDE BEHIND THESE PEOPLE AND THE WOMEN AT HOME OFFICE COVERED FOR HIM I WANT HIM TO KNOW THAT I KNOW AND NOW THE WHOLE WORLD WILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO ME.

We know how those emotions intensify when it is from our own family members, those that are supposed to love and take care of us but are not always successful at it. I wanted to feel what others had, to read it, and to experience it just a little. As others shared what their mom relationships were like, that pain was deeper than I realized before. I no longer wanted to live through your experiences; instead, I wanted to let you know I get it a little. Through some real honest moments came some really raw memories and painful truths, not just my own but yours as well. I found myself weeping and praying for all of you that shared your stories with me. I know I needed to go on a journey with God as my guide to find my "missing mom pieces" so I could heal and pass that on to you. So I pray you take this journey as you figure out what your missing mom pieces are so you may feel peace in the pain, strength in the sorrow, and healing in the days to come. Are you ready?

Book excerpt: An award-winning author's deep exploration of pivotal moments in Texas history through multiple generations of her own family, and a ruthless reexamination of our national and personal myths Seven generations of Jessica Goudeau’s family have lived in Texas, and her family’s legacy—a word she heard often growing up—was rooted in faith, right-living, and the hard work that built their great state. It wasn’t until her aunt mentioned a stowaway ancestor and she began to dig more deeply into the story of the land she lives on today in suburban Austin, that Goudeau discovered her family’s far more complicated role in Texas history: from a swindling land grant agent in the earliest days of Anglo settlement that brought slavery to Mexican land, up through her Texas Ranger great-uncle, who helped a sociopathic sheriff cover up mass murder. Tracking her ancestors’ involvement in pivotal moments from before the Texas Revolution through today, We Were Illegal is at once an intimate and character-driven narrative and an insider’s look at a state that prides itself on its history. It is an act of reckoning and recovery on a personal scale, as well as a reflection of the work we all must do to dismantle the whitewashed narratives that are passed down through families, communities, and textbooks. And it is a story filled with hope—by facing these hypocrisies and long-buried histories, Goudeau explores with us how to move past this fractured time, take accountability for our legacy, and learn to be better, more honest ancestors.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book shares the author’s transformative journey as a literacy teacher/researcher examining her experience as a White, middle-class female. Kuby argues that it is not enough for teachers to implement curricula and pedagogical strategies designed to foster inclusiveness. Instead, teachers must look inward, questioning their personal histories, biases, and beliefs in order to develop better self-awareness. In this book, Kuby reflects on how her self-interrogation shaped her interactions with 5- and 6-year-olds and influenced her critical literacy teaching. “If we wish to create an enlightened citizenry, critical literacy needs to begin on the very first day of the first year of schooling.” —Jerome C. Harste, professor emeritus, Indiana University “What Candace shows us is that critical literacy is for all children and that critical literacies are ways of being that cut across time and space and move beyond the four walls of the classroom and beyond the ‘regular’ school year.” —From the Foreword by Vivian M. Vasquez, American University, Washington DC “In this very thought-provoking book, Candace Kuby uses both her own struggle with White privilege, and that of her students, to demonstrate the importance of cultivating critical consciousness through and in literacy even with those who are very young. Equity and justice for all can only be attained by practicing critical pedagogy for and with all children.” —Gaile Cannella, School of Social Transformation, Arizona State University

Book excerpt: Meticulously researched and written by Tony Jeton Selimi, 'The Unfakeable Code®' explores the fierce scientific, psychological and spiritual impact of wearing 'masks', feeling stuck, powerless, out of control, and being a people pleaser, disengaged and unproductive at home and work – a growing problem in an uncertain world affected by the Corona Virus Pandemic which will leave behind a cosmic trail of mental health issues and a significant rise in unemployment. Empowering readers to redefine themselves and overcome the adversity, anxiety and stagnancy likely blighting their lives, Selimi truly breaks new ground in a volume that gives you the clarity, the hope, and the code to continue to evolve into the authentic, unfakeable leader you were born to be. The Unfakeable Code® offers a fresh and robust five-step methodology for business, personal or professional transformation. It assists in upgrading your psychology and harmonising body-mind-heart intelligence so it can deal with any form of anxiety, conflict, and stress. Throughout the book, Tony J. Selimi shares inspiring actual client stories who have used the five-principles to successfully liberate themselves from the emotional baggage and distress by fully completing the five-step method. It's also been a hit among critics, too, with one recently writing, "The worldview developed here transcends science, dogma, and belief, giving readers a new code to reconnect with their true, authentic individual and the Divine within that knows how to take back control, lead authentically and live freely on your terms." Brian Tracy, Author, Chairman and CEO of Brian Tracy International, quotes, "This is an inspiring, enjoyable, fast-moving book that shows you how to unlock your full power for unlimited success." Marie Diamond, Global Transformational Teacher, a star from The Secret, describes it as "A life manual that assists you in understanding how the Law of Attraction works, and it gives you valuable insights into the science of healing and changing your mindset that will transform your existence." The Hon Richard Evans, CEO ACE Modular Construction, depicts it as "A fascinating read and easy to apply to everyday life, and a great book to return to time and time again. The five freedom, experience, and power-enhancing principles will help you build a deeper awareness of all that you are and are not. I recommended it to academics, business owners, leaders, and anyone working in the human development field. Read it cover to cover, over and over, and you too will broaden and deepen the proficiency of your leadership by presenting your most authentic self in every decision you make."

Book excerpt: Food is always a hot topic - Food waste, food banks, food miles, local versus imported. As we all need food, we can't ignore it. But as some families struggle without enough food to live on, others are challenged to consider how much they throw away, or how to make the food they have go further. Which is why Claud Fullwood set herself the challenge of living on World War Two rations for Lent. It opened her eyes not only to issues of hunger and waste, but also to the many ways in which we have the power to fix our groaning food system, make our families stronger and our communities whole again. The Rations Challenge takes the wisdom of World War Two and looks at how it can help us revolutionise how we live now. By learning the lessons our parents and grandparents lived by in the '30s and '40s, we can build a future that works for everyone.
