Book Synopsis A Simple Method for Estimating Terminal Velocity Including Effect of Compressibility on Drag by : Ralph P. Bielat
Download or read book A Simple Method for Estimating Terminal Velocity Including Effect of Compressibility on Drag written by Ralph P. Bielat and published by . This book was released on 1945 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Summary: A generalized drag curve that provides an estimate for the drag rise due to compressibility has been obtained for an analysis of wind-tunnel data of several airfoils, fuselages, nacelles, and windshields at speeds up to and above the wing critical speed. The airfoils analyzed had little or no sweepback and effective aspect ratios above 6.5. A chart based on the generalized drag curve is presented from which the terminal velocity of a conventional airplane that employs a wing of moderate aspect ratio and very little sweepback in a vertical dive may be rapidly estimated. In order to use the chart, the only data that need be known about the airplane are a low-speed drag coefficient, the wing critical speed, and the wing loading. The terminal velocities for three airplanes were computed in order to illustrate the use of the method and chart. Good agreement between the estimated terminal velocity and the measured flight terminal velocity was indicated for all three airplanes.
Download or read book Body Physics written by Lawrence Davis and published by . This book was released on 201? with total page 590 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Body Physics was designed to meet the objectives of a one-term high school or freshman level course in physical science, typically designed to provide non-science majors and undeclared students with exposure to the most basic principles in physics while fulfilling a science-with-lab core requirement. The content level is aimed at students taking their first college science course, whether or not they are planning to major in science. However, with minor supplementation by other resources, such as OpenStax College Physics, this textbook could easily be used as the primary resource in 200-level introductory courses. Chapters that may be more appropriate for physics courses than for general science courses are noted with an asterisk symbol (*). Of course this textbook could be used to supplement other primary resources in any physics course covering mechanics and thermodynamics"--Textbook Web page.

A young fit healthy 35-year-old suddenly facing a death sentence and leaving behind a legacy of debt to his young family. I am Michael Romeo, and this is my story. In June 2019 my wife and I returned to the surgeons office for the 6 week checkup following a recent surgery to cut out a Cancerous tumor which was discovered in my esophagus, only to be told 'Michael you will die from Esophageal cancer and it will not be long'. Through this cancer diagnosis / prognosis I have come to learn that I am not the only one who has pushed aside my health, my levels of insurance cover and my finances, because of this I have decided to share my learnings. Since the diagnosis I have the opportunity to make necessary changes in my life to better assist myself and my family. One very exciting change I was able to make was implementing a banking strategy know as the terminal velocity banking strategy. Through this I have been able to get my family in a better financial position and now it truly has become a race against time to become financially free. No joke, I have personally implemented this and am now sharing my personal situation and the results are astounding. Don't be afraid of change and take the first steps in owning your situation.

Book excerpt: (Poetry) A woman leaps from the Empire State Building but falls only a single floor before she is blown back inside. So begins Christina Olson's second collection of poetry, a rollicking, richly imagined mosaic that pits science, history, and fate against one another in an attempt to answer the bedeviling questions of cause and effect. TERMINAL HUMAN VELOCITY is a steady-voiced, multi-faced narrative of the human condition, mythic yet modern--keenly inquisitive, never complacent, and ceaselessly compelling.
Book Synopsis Compendium on Light Speed Travel by : James Essig
Download or read book Compendium on Light Speed Travel written by James Essig and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2017-05-26 with total page 9401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some theoreticians contemplate and formulate the physics of tachyons, which are hypothetical particles, that would always travel faster than light but which could never slow down to the speed of light just as they anticipate sublight speed massive particles never being able to achieve light speed. So my theoretical work on the physics and kinematics of light-speed massive systems sets me apart from general trends in the theoretical field of relativistic astronautics. This book is a continuation of how and why we may be able to, at some future time, travel at the speed of light.

Book Synopsis The Revolution of Little Girls by : Blanche McCrary Boyd
Download or read book The Revolution of Little Girls written by Blanche McCrary Boyd and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2011-02-02 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No matter how hard she tries, Ellen Burns will never be Scarlett O'Hara. As a little girl in South Carolina, she prefers playing Tarzan to playing Jane. As a teenage beauty queen she spikes her Cokes with spirits of ammonia and baffles her elders with her Freedom Riding sympathies. As a young woman in the 1960s and '70s, she hypnotizes her way to Harvard, finds herself as a lesbian, then very nearly loses herself to booze and shamans. And though the wry, rebellious, and vision-haunted heroine of this exhilarating novel may sometimes seem to be living a magnolia-scented Portrait of the Artist as a Young Woman, Blanche McCrary Boyd's The Revolution Of Little Girls is a completely original arid captivating work.
