Book Synopsis Room Temperature Tensile Properties of Large 7075-T6 and 7075-T73 Aluminum-alloy Forgings by : D. P. Moon
Download or read book Room Temperature Tensile Properties of Large 7075-T6 and 7075-T73 Aluminum-alloy Forgings written by D. P. Moon and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Room-temperature tensile properties were determined for large 7075-T6 and 7075-T73 aluminum-alloy forgings. Forging sizes ranged from about 1.5 to 15 inches (short-transverse direction) for production forgings and up to 20 inches for step forgings. Heat-treated thickness was 0.75 to 1.000 inch for the T6 temper but ranged up to 10 inches for the T73 temper. Regression coefficients and standard d deviations are presented for three properties (TUS, TYS, and elongation) in each of three test directions. In addition, average values and two statistical minima are tabulated for each property and test direction at each of several discrete sizes, and a comparison is made with the corresponding requirements of Specification MIL-A-22771C(ASG). Book Synopsis Effect of Temperature and Strain Rate on the Tensile Properties of Boron-Aluminum and Boron-Epoxy Composites by : DA. Meyn
Download or read book Effect of Temperature and Strain Rate on the Tensile Properties of Boron-Aluminum and Boron-Epoxy Composites written by DA. Meyn and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The effects of strain rates from 8 x 10-5 to 0.4 s-1 on tensile strengths and moduli of 6-ply 6061 aluminum-46.5 percent boron at temperatures up to 1000°F (537°C) and of 10-ply unidirectional and cross-ply epoxy-50 percent boron composites at temperatures up to 500°F (260°C) have been measured. Longitudinal properties were reduced moderately at high temperatures, and were only slightly higher at high strain rates than at low strain rates. Transverse properties decreased rapidly with temperature, and were either unaffected by high strain rates, particularly at low temperatures, or were substantially increased, especially at high temperatures, in both aluminum and epoxy systems.
Book Synopsis Tensile Properties of 7075-T6 and 2024-T3 Aluminum-alloy Sheet Heated at Uniform Temperature Rates Under Constant Load by : George J. Heimerl
Download or read book Tensile Properties of 7075-T6 and 2024-T3 Aluminum-alloy Sheet Heated at Uniform Temperature Rates Under Constant Load written by George J. Heimerl and published by . This book was released on 1955 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Results are presented of tests to determine the effect of heating at uniform temperature rates from 0.2 degrees to 100 degrees F. per second on the tensile properties of 7075-T6 d(75s-T6) and 2024-T3 (24s-T3) aluminum-alloy sheet under constant-load conditions. Yield and rupture stresses, obtained under rapid-heating conditions, are compared with results of elevated-temperature stress-strain tests for 1/2-hour exposure. Master yield-and-rupture-stress curves based on linear temperature-rate parameter are presented with which yield and rupture stresses or temperatures may be predicted for these materials for temperature rates from 0.2 to 100 degrees F per second. A description of the test equipment is included.
Book Synopsis Compressive Stress-strain Properties of 7075-T6 Aluminum-alloy Sheet at Elevated Temperatures by : Eldon E. Mathauser
Download or read book Compressive Stress-strain Properties of 7075-T6 Aluminum-alloy Sheet at Elevated Temperatures written by Eldon E. Mathauser and published by . This book was released on 1956 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Compressive stress-strain test results for 7075-T6 aluminum-alloy sheet are presented for temperatures ranging from room temperature to 700 degrees F and for exposure times from 0.1 to 100 hours. All specimens were loaded parallel to the rolling direction of the sheet and tested at a nominal strain rate of 0.002 per minute. Stress-strain curves are presented for each temperature and exposure time investigated, and significant design data obtained from the curves (compressive yield stress, Young's modulus, secant and tangent moduli, and two stresses useful for determining the maximum compressive strength of plates) are presented in graphical and tabular form. A time-temperature parameter derived from rate-process theory is used to present the compressive yield stresses as a single master curve.
