Download or read book Symmetrical Components written by L. J. Myatt and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-06-28 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Symmetrical Components introduces the fundamental concepts involved in the method of symmetrical components. The book also demonstrate the method for analyzing simple power networks that are subjected to unbalanced fault conditions. The text first discusses the h operator, and then proceeds to detailing symmetrical components. The next two chapters cover the properties and measurement of symmetrical components. Chapter 5 tackles the short-circuit faults on an alternating current generator, while Chapter 6 discusses the equivalents circuits for unbalanced faults. The seventh chapter talks about the sequence networks and faults on three-phase systems, while the last chapter deals with unbalanced loads. The text will be of great use to students of electrical engineering. Professional electrical engineers and technicians will also benefit from the book.

Book Synopsis The General Theory of Alternating Current Machines by : Bernard Adkins
Download or read book The General Theory of Alternating Current Machines written by Bernard Adkins and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book on The General Theory of Electrical Machines, by B. Adkins, which was published in 1957, has been well received, as a manual containing the theories on which practical methods of calculating machine performance can be based, and as a text-book for advanced students. Since 1957, many important developments have taken place in the practical application of electrical machine theory. The most important single factor in the development has been the increasing availability of the digital computer, which was only beginning to be used in the solution of machine and power system problems in 1957. Since most of the recent development, particularly that with which the authors have been concerned, has related to a. c. machines, the present book, which is in other respects an up-to-date version of the earlier book, deals primarily with a. c. machines. The second chapter on the primitive machine does deal to some extent with the d. c. machine, because the cross-field d. c. generator servesas an introduction to the two-axis theory and can be used to provide a simple explanation of some of the mathematical methods. The equations also apply directly to a. c. commutator machines. The use of the word 'general' in the title has been criticized. It was never intended to imply that the treatment was comprehen sive in the sense that every possible type of machine and problem was dealt with.
Book Synopsis Advanced Chromatic Monitoring by : Gordon R. Jones
Download or read book Advanced Chromatic Monitoring written by Gordon R. Jones and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-08-11 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advanced Chromatic Monitoring provides a major source of information about the novel approach of chromaticity with examples of how chromaticity may be deployed for various monitoring applications. It shows with examples what can be achieved with chromatic methods in producing relevant information with a variety of test techniques and in facilitating the interpretation of complex data about complicated situations. It will be of interest to postgraduates and researchers in a wide breadth of physical disciplines (engineering, medicine, environmental sciences) and those involved with data acquisition and analysis. Key Features: Applicable to a wide range of disciplines (engineering, medical, environmental, etc) and those interested in science, technology, data acquisition and analysis Provides an extrapolation of new knowledge well beyond that covered in existing literature with regard to dealing with complicated forms and sets of data Addresses inspiring and innovative areas of research including environmental, power delivery and medical monitoring About the Editors: Emeritus Professor Gordon R. Jones – founder and former Director of the Centre for Intelligent Monitoring Systems (CIMS), former Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, and former Director of Electric Arcs Research Group at the University of Liverpool. He was awarded the IEEE Education, Science and Technology Achievement Medal (1999). Professor Joe W. Spencer – the present Director of CIMS at the University of Liverpool, having been Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at Liverpool. He is involved in operating a multi-million pound technology transfer unit (Sensor City, Liverpool) with whose establishment he played a major role and with which CIMS has major interactions.
