Book Synopsis Journal of Dreams by : Emanuel Swedenborg
Download or read book Journal of Dreams written by Emanuel Swedenborg and published by The Swedenborg Society. This book was released on 1918 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1744 Swedenborg traveled the Netherlands to gather material for a scientific treatise on the anatomy and behavior of animals. En route, he began having strange and disturbing dreams. It was Swedenborg's custom to keep a diary while he traveled, and so he recorded his dreams in its pages. These visions began the process of Swedenborg's spiritual awakening, which culminated in visions of angels, demons, heaven and hell. Swedenborg would largely abandon scientific pursuits and instead devote himself to recording the mystical visions that would dominate his legacy. The whereabouts of this journal were unknown for decades after Swedenborg's death, but it was eventually discovered in the Royal Library in the 1850s and subsequently published.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New Thought is a diverse movement whose practitioners have only one thing in common: a belief in the power of the mind to bring health, wealth, and fulfillment. In this comprehensive history of New Thought, John Haller traces its roots from the earliest influences to the mind-cure speculations of the late nineteenth century, and shows how its initial emphasis on healing disease morphed into a vision of the mind's ability to bring us whatever we desire. Authors like Dale Carnegie, Norman Vincent Peale, and, more recently, Rhonda Byrne are eagerly read and embraced by millions of people who remain unaware that these writers are merely repeating ideas introduced decades before. The History of New Thought demonstrates the broad and lasting impact that this movement has had on American culture.

Download or read book Love & Light written by Clayten Tylor and published by Clayten Tylor. This book was released on 2017-05-20 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines Emanuel Swedenborg's spiritual experiences of Heaven and Hell from an esoteric perspective as a feeling, the language of angels and spirits. To perceive this spiritual feeling, begins the regeneration process that develops an inner perception of celestial love, as spiritual light. By examining celestial love as a feeling, in conjunction with spiritual light as a knowing, we can begin to conceive of angelic forces and understand their effects on us. When we can perceive love and light as a feeling as it expresses through our physical senses, we can start to affect our own psycho-spiritual development to evolve from a sensual to a spiritual feeling of conjugial love. As we examine love and light as a spiritual feeling through heaven and hell, we too begin to experience a deeper spiritual awareness, which can initiate a personal communication with the Divine, as a Conjugial Love experience. With creative self-expression as our goal, we can take regeneration into our own hands to speed-up our own evolution, while we transmute the forces that block the spiritual feeling of the Brotherhood of Mankind, and thereby, together, manifest the feeling of Heaven on Earth.
