The land was reserved under the Treaty of Indian Springs (January 8, 1821) between the Creeks and the United States. This document was probably originally part of a series of land surveys conducted by Lumpkin in May and June of 1821 which also appear in the Southeastern Native American Documents database as tcc042, tcc508, and tcc526.
