Book Synopsis The Man In The Rubber Mask by : Robert Llewellyn
Download or read book The Man In The Rubber Mask written by Robert Llewellyn and published by Unbound Publishing. This book was released on 2013-05-14 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was 1989 when Robert Llewellyn first had his head encased in the one-piece latex foam-rubber balaclava that is the head of Kryten in Red Dwarf series three, and it gave him a distinctly funny turn. Gazing at his own reflection and seeing the face of a mechanoid robot staring back was surprisingly scary, not to mention uncomfortable and rather sweaty. And he couldn't even eat his lunch. Since then, he has sweated, frozen, been set on fire, exploded, spent thousands of hours in the make-up chair and thousands more being taunted by Craig Charles for being a middle-class b*****d. So it is a testament to the joyful camaraderie and life-enhancing silliness of the world of Red Dwarf that twenty-three years later, Robert is still willing to risk life, limb and hairline to don the rubber torture helmet for Red Dwarf X, the recent triumphant return of the motley band of space bums. Originally published in 1993 after series six, The Man in the Rubber Mask has now been completely updated with 43.7% extra smeg.

Book Synopsis Pull the Stick Out of Your @SS by : Bruce Serbin
Download or read book Pull the Stick Out of Your @SS written by Bruce Serbin and published by Sound Wisdom. This book was released on 2020-05-19 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is your insecure, apprehensive personality getting in your way of enjoying life? Making friends? Finding love? Landing that promotion? Get ready to get over yourself and pull the stick out of your ass that’s been holding you back from being present in your life and realizing your dreams. In this lighthearted study of how to cope with anxiety disorder and stop being so damned uptight, Bruce shares the results of 20 years of research on anxiety disorders and depression and insight gleaned from working with the nation’s top mental health experts as a former journalist and publicist. Flip through these pages and you’ll find raw, humorous anecdotes paired with practical advice on the following subjects: Strategies for avoiding destructive behaviors like analysis paralysis, perfectionism, and egotism that firmly embed a giant stick up your ass. Techniques for loosening up, such as refraining from overplanning, getting over FOMO, increasing your tolerance, embracing your emotions, and overcoming social phobia. Support on how to get help if your emotional pain has become mental illness—and encouragement that doing so is a sign of strength, rather than weakness. With this edgy-bordering-on-profane take on breaking free from rigidity, Bruce will help you confront that little voice in your head questioning your actions and feeding you self-criticism. A hard knock at the stigma surrounding anxiety disorders, Pull the Stick out of Your @ss will leave you reeling in laughter and empowered to chuck conformity out the window and embrace your weird-ass self. Take a deep breath, get out your swear jar, and prepare to be mellowed out by this gritty approach to mindfulness. Former Journalist and Publicist, Bruce Serbin used to be a complete tightwad: quiet, nervous, preoccupied with the incessant negative chatter in his head, worried about what other people thought of him, constantly playing out different scenarios in his mind, trying to script out every interaction with people ahead of time. He experienced panic attacks, lived with severe anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and suffered from hypochondria. Until one day, enough was enough. It was time to remove the stick from his ass and start living.

Book Synopsis News from Wandaland by : Kodell Parker
Download or read book News from Wandaland written by Kodell Parker and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-05 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sending e-mails "You have News from Wandaland" to family and friends all across the states and to foreign countries is a hobby of Kodell Parker. He lives on a small cattle farm in north east Texas where cattle graze and coyotes sing at night. He often wrote about some amusing experience or happening. This became an interest after having retired from a major Oil Company in Alaska in the late '70s and settling down in Texas. Since there are days for no hay pitching, stalls to clean or fences to fix there was time for other satisfying and pleasurable activities to engage in. In the bunk house in the drawer of an old file cabinet which has seen its better days is a folder containing copies of many e-mails he has sent to a mail list over the past few years. He never kept any of the replies sent to him for reasons which have escaped his mind. Often, comments about a certain subject written about were received. It was not uncommon for someone to say "better layoff the juice" or "hide the jug in the barn." There was one who said that he was a "hoot" whatever that is. When the "mood "came upon him to tell folks hither and yonder how it is at Wandaland he just weighed in and commenced to write. His e-mails are styled as "News from Wandaland where the cows are always hungry and never give up their milk." More than once a person or two would say you should write a book about that. This is a collection of a few of his "News from Wandaland" just to show that he is not "loco," strange or a complete idiot as some people have commented. Perhaps you will say there is a wrangler "out there" sending e-mails all over the country and you should read one or two. The short stories are Reflection of rural life of the Parker family of fifteen siblings living in East Texas. The author penned the stories when he worked for a major oil company at Dead Horse, Alaska, in the 1970s when there were total dark days and "cabin fever" would set in. He truly hopes the e-mails and the short stories are pleasurable. Thank you for allowing them to be shared with you. Sincerely, Kodell Parker, head wrangler at Wandaland.

Download or read book Dark & Day - Book 1 written by Israel Grey and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-12-01 with total page 472 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jonothon Wyer trembled beneath his desk as the sirens blared their dreaded warning: Magic is coming! His entire life, he had been told to fear the wizards from across the Dawn, but never did his small town expect to be the epicenter of the next world war of machines against magic! Sickly and friendless, Jono's only hope was to enlist into the mechanized army of the Dark End. He was promised that machines will make him strong enough to be the hero he read about in books. Jono never questioned his fate until his discovery of an ancient relic revealed that a wizard was living with them all along! What is a true hero to do, when good and evil depended on which side of the border you were born? Caught between the politics, prophesy and prejudice of a fantastical world drowning in fear, Jono must dare to question everything he was raised to believe in order to prevent the key to controlling the sun itself from falling into the wrong hands. As living shadows of the Dark Empress hunt to gain the key's terrible power and the Sage of Ages rallies spell-casting knights to prepare for war, Jono must race for answers across a planet mired in a rusting history, from the shimmering towers of Caer Midus to the dank caverns of the Windom Academy. With the help of a chipper mechgineer and a chemix caster, Jono must use all his wit and courage to reveal the horrible truth that lurks behind the mask of blind faith before the stories both sides tell themselves lead to their own destruction. Dark & Day is a journey of discovering and defining who you are and what you believe in, even when the world around you has already made up its mind.
