Miola's edited work also features a comprehensive critical history, coupled with a full bibliography and photographs of major productions of the play from around the world. In the collection, there are five previously unpublished essays. The topics covered in these new essays are women in the play, the play's debt to contemporary theater, its critical and performance histories in Germany and Japan, the metrical variety of the play, and the distinctly modern perspective on the play as containing dark and disturbing elements. To compliment these new essays, the collection features significant scholarship and commentary on The Comedy of Errors that is published in obscure and difficulty accessible journals, newspapers, and other sources. This collection brings together these essays for the first time.

Book excerpt: This unsettling but fascinating book will give you a unique insight deep into the minds of stalkers and reveals how their sinister behaviour affects their victims. From shadowy online stalkers, to jealous ex-lovers, from obsessed admirers and insidious personal vendettas through to crazed and dangerous criminals, this book probes the innermost instincts of the characters involved in each of the terrifying - and increasingly common - crimes described here. Based on revealing interviews with policemen, psychiatrists and doctors, as well as the families of many of the true-life victims - both male and female - this is the first time that such a collection of stalking cases from across the UK has been presented in such vivid and memorable detail. From the high-profile Marchese/Falkowski case currently proceeding through the courts, to the tragic events of lesser-known fatal stalkings, these stories read like fiction - but everything published is based on startling fact.

Adams-Larsen Inc and Associates, ALIAS, helps ordinary citizens in danger when they need to disappear. Stalked: Opposites attract, unfortunately. But because Alex is already in hot water, he follows orders to keep the judge happy. Rule breaker, and former CIA analyst, Kita Ferguson reluctantly agrees to go undercover, posing as the judge’s aide slash girlfriend, but in return she expects her boss at ALIAS to help her protect an abused woman and her nieces even though technically keeping the children from their father is against the law. From the very start, Alex and Kita disagree about everything. But their sizzling attraction continues to grow as the threats against the judge escalate and put them all in danger. Can these two opposites find enough common ground outside the bedroom, or will their diverse philosophies result in disaster?

Book excerpt: Ireland is a country which has come to be defined in part by an ideology which conflates nationalism with the land. From the Irish Revival’s celebration of the Irish peasant farmer as the ideal Irishman to the fierce history of land claim battles between the Irish and their colonizers, notions of the land have become particularly bound up with conceptions of what Ireland is and what it is to be Irish. In this book, Wright considers this fraught relationship between land and national identity in Irish literature. In doing so, she presents a new vision of the Irish national landscape as one that is vitally connected to larger geographical spheres. By exploring issues of globalization, international radicalism, trade routes, and the export of natural resources, Wright is at the cutting edge of modern global scholarly trends and concerns. In considering texts from the Romantic era such as Leslie’s Killarney, Edgeworth’s "Limerick Gloves," and Moore’s Irish Melodies, Wright undercuts the nationalist myth of a "people of the soil" using the very texts which helped to construct this myth. Reigniting the field of Irish Romanticism, Wright presents original readings which call into question politically motivated mythologies while energizing nationalist conceptions that reflect transnational networks and mobility.

Book excerpt: The murder of a newly appointed City Council member in the early 1980s shatters the first of many illusions in Avalon, a city located more East than West and slightly South of North, where the past connives with the present to keep things in ‘the family'. As the Greater Avalon Police Department's Central Crime Squad's investigation moves through, and sometimes cuts across, tangled webs of familial relationships they find a number of people and things are not quite, and never were, what they seemed–including the victim, local Biotech firm, twenty-year old unsolved Jack-the Ripper cases, and the Avalon Police Department itself. While the Squad evaluates, tests, and redefines their own relationships, values, loyalties and self-images, the only sure things are over-work, out-dated equipment, and paperwork Meanwhile, like all the citizens of Avalon, they have lives to live, and personal crises to either surmount or just survive--while they grasp for reality amidst the mounting shards of shattered illusions.

Book excerpt: Now in paperback--Carlene O'Connor's fifth book in the USA Today bestselling Irish Village Mystery Series sends Garda Siobhán O'Sullivan to a superstitious rural village for a murder investigation in which the prime suspects happen to be fairies... Family is everything to Siobhán: her five siblings; her dearly departed mother for whom the family business, Naomi's Bistro, is named; and now her fiancé, Macdara Flannery. So precious is her engagement that Siobhán wants to keep it just between the two of them for a little longer. But Macdara is her family, which is why when his cousin Susan frantically calls for his help, Siobhán is at his side as the two garda rush from Kilbane to the rural village where Susan and her mother have recently moved. Unfortunately, tragedy awaits them. They find Susan, who is blind, outside the cottage, in a state. Inside, Aunt Ellen lies on her bed in a fancy red dress, no longer breathing. A pillow on the floor and a nearby teacup suggest the mode of death to their trained eyes: the woman has been poisoned and smothered. Someone wanted to make sure she was dead. But who? Devout believers in Irish folklore, the villagers insist the cottage is cursed--built on a fairy path. It turns out Ellen Delaney was not the first to die mysteriously in this cottage. Although the townsfolk blame malevolent fairies, Siobhán and Macdara must follow the path of a murderer all too human--but just as evil...

In this biography, Robert Carriker describes De Smet’s love for the great American West and the native tribes who lived there, the Potawatomis, Flatheads, Coeur d’Alenes, Kalispels, Blackfeet, Yankton Sioux, and others to whom the Jesuit father carried Christianity. Soon the man called Black Robe became known throughout the mountains and plains as a man of peace and a friend of all Indians.

Book excerpt: "Jodie Slaughter is must-buy author, and Bet on It is a perfect example of what makes her writing delicious. Aja and Walker’s story is hot, sweet, and utterly unique, with a rock-solid emotional core." - Talia Hibbert, New York Times bestselling author of Act Your Age, Eve Brown The first time Aja Owens encounters the man of her dreams, she’s having a panic attack in the frozen foods section of the Piggly Wiggly. The second time, he’s being introduced to her as her favorite bingo buddy’s semi-estranged grandson. From there, all it takes is one game for her to realize that he’s definitely going to be a problem. And if there’s anything she already has a surplus of, it’s problems. In Walker Abbott’s mind, there are only two worthwhile things in Greenbelt, South Carolina. The peach cobbler at his old favorite diner and his ailing grandmother. Dragging himself back after more than a decade away, he’s counting down the days until Gram heals and he can get back to his real life. Far away from the trauma inside of those city limits. Just when he thinks his plan is solid, enter Aja to shake everything up. A hastily made bingo-based sex pact is supposed to keep this...thing between them from getting out of hand. Especially when submitting to their feelings means disrupting their carefully balanced lives. But emotions are just like bingo callers—they refuse to be ignored. Jodie Slaughter's Bet on It is a heart-stoppingly fun, emotional romance that will have readers falling in love until long after the last page is turned. “Bet on It reads like the first rays of sun on your face after a long winter. I loved Aja and Walker's story about two genuinely good people who are playful and sweet to each other, helping one another heal, while also having incredibly hot sex. With standout portrayals of beautiful, generous friendships in addition to the love story, this is a book to be savored.” - Rosie Danan, author of The Intimacy Experiment and The Roommate

Book excerpt: From the outside, 14-year-old Syd Johanssen seems like a typical teen-busy delivering papers in the neighbourhood and training with her high school sprinting team. Under the surface, though, things are less than perfect. Syd's family life leaves a lot to be desired, and she can't manage to shake her fascination with the highly publicized abductions and murders of two local girls. Syd's obsession becomes a frightening reality when she realizes that she is being stalked on her paper route. Tense and fast-paced, Girl #3 is a story about how being a girl is more dangerous these days than it has ever been, and how, in your darkest hour, you might just find a friend in the most unlikely of places.
