Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the product of my experience and research on the importance of unity. Years ago, my marriage was not working the way I wanted. Upon careful thought, I realized my wife and I were not Experience and research have shown that if six conditions can be met in any relationship, church, organization, or a nation, unity can be achieved and maintained. This book will show you all! If your relationship is not working well, dont give up, strive for unity. If your church is not growing or doing well dont give up, strive for unity. Even the almighty God is also working hard to unite all people to himself! This book would be good for couples, singles, Pastors and their church members, managers, Politicians and individuals. The reader will also learn that there are three main things to pursue in life in order to have a satisfactory, meaningful and complete life. Many people are not happy these days, some even end up committing suicide, this book can help! You will also learn some of the mistakes the man or the woman makes that can destroy unity in the relationship and how couples can set up financial and other guidelines in the family to bring about unity. The kind of leader a country gets depends on the lifestyle the people aspire? If the citizens want good life, they will get a good leader; if the citizens desire immoral bad lifestyle, they will get a bad leader! The book also enlists some of the mistakes church members, and Pastors make that hinder their blessings, growth, and unity in the church. How to know you have been called by God to be his servant, a pastor, a prophet, find out more! The reader will also discover that this world is heading toward a condition of harmony, peace, and unity, but science and many people have not been able to understand this process so far. Why? This is because science is limited although useful. Individuals, families and nations will benefit greatly if they turn to God for help than to live without the influence of God!

Book excerpt: Established in 1800, edinoverie (translated as "unity in faith") was intended to draw back those who had broken with the Russian Orthodox Church over ritual reforms in the 17th century. Called Old Believers, they had been persecuted as heretics. In time, the Russian state began tolerating Old Believers in order to lure them out of hiding and make use of their financial resources as a means of controlling and developing Russia's vast and heterogeneous empire. However, the Russian Empire was also an Orthodox state, and conversion from Orthodoxy constituted a criminal act. So, which was better for ensuring the stability of the Russian Empire: managing heterogeneity through religious toleration, or enforcing homogeneity through missionary campaigns? Edinoverie remained contested and controversial throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, as it was distrusted by both the Orthodox Church and the Old Believers themselves. The state reinforced this ambivalence, using edinoverie as a means by which to monitor Old Believer communities and employing it as a carrot to the stick of prison, exile, and the deprivation of rights. In Unity in Faith?, James White's study of edinoverie offers an unparalleled perspective of the complex triangular relationship between the state, the Orthodox Church, and religious minorities in imperial Russia.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Editor Howard Goldblatt explains that while most societies analyse and revere their literary trends in retrospect, post-Liberation China’s literary trends tend to be announced beforehand allowing for critics to judge how close or far from the prescribed norms a piece of art is. In this volume, a collection of speeches and reports from the Fourth Congress of Writers and Artists, well-known Chinese writers (novels, poets, and dramatists alike) debate the future direction of Chinese literature for the 1980s. Originally published in 1982, the book lends a contemporary view into the state of art and literature in China during a critical era of transformation. This title is suitable for students of Literature and East Asian Studies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stability and Stabilization is the first intermediate-level textbook that covers stability and stabilization of equilibria for both linear and nonlinear time-invariant systems of ordinary differential equations. Designed for advanced undergraduates and beginning graduate students in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics, the book takes a unique modern approach that bridges the gap between linear and nonlinear systems. Presenting stability and stabilization of equilibria as a core problem of mathematical control theory, the book emphasizes the subject's mathematical coherence and unity, and it introduces and develops many of the core concepts of systems and control theory. There are five chapters on linear systems and nine chapters on nonlinear systems; an introductory chapter; a mathematical background chapter; a short final chapter on further reading; and appendixes on basic analysis, ordinary differential equations, manifolds and the Frobenius theorem, and comparison functions and their use in differential equations. The introduction to linear system theory presents the full framework of basic state-space theory, providing just enough detail to prepare students for the material on nonlinear systems. Focuses on stability and feedback stabilization Bridges the gap between linear and nonlinear systems for advanced undergraduates and beginning graduate students Balances coverage of linear and nonlinear systems Covers cascade systems Includes many examples and exercises

Book excerpt: This book presents a collection of new articles written by world-leading experts and active researchers to present their recent finding and progress in the new area of chaotic systems and dynamics, regarding emerging subjects of unconventional chaotic systems and their complex dynamics. It guide readers directly to the research front of the new scientific studies. This book is unique of its kind in the current literature, presenting broad scientific research topics including multistability and hidden attractors in unconventional chaotic systems, such as chaotic systems without equilibria, with only stable equilibria, with a curve or a surface of equilibria. The book describes many novel phenomena observed from chaotic systems, such as non-Shilnikov type chaos, coexistence of different types of attractors, and spontaneous symmetry breaking in chaotic systems. The book presents state-of-the-art scientific research progress in the field with both theoretical advances and potential applications. This book is suitable for all researchers and professionals in the areas of nonlinear dynamics and complex systems, including research professionals, physicists, applied mathematicians, computer scientists and, in particular, graduate students in related fields.

Probing the issue of progress in art, he also emphasizes the need for art to contribute to positive values."--BOOK JACKET.
