Book Synopsis Quark Confinement And The Hadron Spectrum Ii by : Nora Serafina Brambilla
Download or read book Quark Confinement And The Hadron Spectrum Ii written by Nora Serafina Brambilla and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1997-05-03 with total page 454 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The confinement mechanism of the quarks in QCD is one of the most challenging and open problems in physics. Confinement is a nonperturbative phenomenon, and a definite way to handle it has not yet been found in field theory. There are lattice calculations that can produce the low-lying states of the spectrum and 'measure' many important physical quantities, but nevertheless the development of analytical techniques is of extreme importance for understanding the physics involved in confinement. In this respect it is important to test the results obtained directly from the theory (Bethe-Salpeter kernel, effective Hamiltonians, quark potential, etc.) on the spectrum, form factors and decays of bound states of quarks and gluons, and to relate them to the results of lattice theory. In this book, the question of the confinement mechanism is addressed; explanations in terms of monopoles, instantons and dyons are reviewed and the connection with duality is discussed.
Book Synopsis Influenza: Complete Spectrum - II - ECAB by : M. Indrashekhar Rao
Download or read book Influenza: Complete Spectrum - II - ECAB written by M. Indrashekhar Rao and published by Elsevier Health Sciences. This book was released on 2012-06-11 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Influenza: Complete Spectrum – II is published in continuation with the Influenza: Complete Spectrum – I, and the second part converges on the clinical aspect of influenza. It also covers the various influenza immunization programs and policies being run in India to prevent and decrease the incidence of influenza and its complications among children and adults. The course of influenza is mild and self-limited. However, serious complications leading to morbidity and death occur, especially in those with underlying chronic illnesses. The book covers very well the complications and prognosis of influenza. The publication details out why, how, and when influenza vaccination should be exercised in children and adults especially keeping in mind the recent pandemic of H1N1. The book also has a chapter designated to the management of influenza which not only covers antivirals but also the other aspects of managing a patient of influenza and preventing its spread. The authors of the book have also elaborated on the present vis-à-vis future aspects related to influenza vaccine, an often ignored part of influenza management. Discussing complications and prognosis of influenza Describing influenza vaccination for adults and children Understanding the management and prevention of influenza Throwing some light on critical appraise of various immunization programs and policies run for influenza in India Understanding current gap in effective vaccination and management practices for influenza and how to bridge the same in future

Book Synopsis Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy by : George Atkinson
Download or read book Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy written by George Atkinson and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 419 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy covers the proceedings of the International Conference on Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy, convened in Lake Placid, New York on August 16-20, 1982. This book is organized into six sections encompassing 51 chapters. The first section deals with the theoretical and computational developments concerning Raman scattering and two-photon and optical spectroscopies. Section II focuses on the instrumentation and techniques of various time-resolved vibrational spectroscopies (TRVS), such as Raman techniques, stroboscopic interferometry, and infrared multiphoton. Sections III and IV deal with the chemical (ground and excited states) and biochemical systems of TRVS. The concluding sections discuss the theoretical principles and methods of observation of nonlinear Raman spectroscopy and surface-enhanced and colloidal Raman scattering. This book is of value to chemists, spectroscopists, and photobiologists.
Book Synopsis Organic Chemistry by : David R. Klein
Download or read book Organic Chemistry written by David R. Klein and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2017-08-14 with total page 1312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Organic Chemistry, 3rd Edition, Dr. David Klein builds on the phenomenal success of the first two editions, which presented his unique skills-based approach to learning organic chemistry. Dr. Klein’s skills-based approach includes all of the concepts typically covered in an organic chemistry textbook, and places special emphasis on skills development to support these concepts. This emphasis on skills development in unique SkillBuilder examples provides extensive opportunities for two-semester Organic Chemistry students to develop proficiency in the key skills necessary to succeed in organic chemistry.
