Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK(R) Guide), the IEEE Computer Society establishes a baseline for the body of knowledge for the field of software engineering, and the work supports the Society's responsibility to promote the advancement of both theory and practice in this field. It should be noted that the Guide does not purport to define the body of knowledge but rather to serve as a compendium and guide to the knowledge that has been developing and evolving over the past four decades. Now in Version 3.0, the Guide's 15 knowledge areas summarize generally accepted topics and list references for detailed information. The editors for Version 3.0 of the SWEBOK(R) Guide are Pierre Bourque (Ecole de technologie superieure (ETS), Universite du Quebec) and Richard E. (Dick) Fairley (Software and Systems Engineering Associates (S2EA)).

Book Synopsis Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in Special Education by : V. Ajantha Devi
Download or read book Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in Special Education written by V. Ajantha Devi and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-07-09 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discover the groundbreaking potential of augmented reality in special education with this comprehensive book, which fills a significant research gap and explores the transformative impact of AR/VR on teaching and learning experiences for individuals with disabilities. Millions of young people across the world have impairments. Because of their apparent problems, these young people have typically been marginalized or excluded from schools. Studies on augmented reality applications in education for special children are still in their early stages and there is a dearth of research on the effects and implications of augmented reality in education for special children or individuals with special needs, such as intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and physical disabilities. Technological advancements have enabled the creation of whole new learning environments, vastly expanding the breadth and sophistication of teaching and learning activities. For example, several studies have shown that virtual reality and augmented reality can help autistic people understand facial emotions and improve their social skills. By compiling a collection of conceptual and research chapters investigating the infiltration of AR/VR into teaching and learning practices and experiences for disabled people, this book will fill a significant gap in current research literature.

This conference series represents a targeted response to the growing need for research that reports and debates the practical implications of software engineering within the defence environment and also for software performance evaluation in real settings through controlled experiments as well as case and field studies. The book will appeal to all with an interest in modeling, managing, and implementing defence-related software development products and processes in a structured and supportable way.
Book Synopsis Contemporary Empirical Methods in Software Engineering by : Michael Felderer
Download or read book Contemporary Empirical Methods in Software Engineering written by Michael Felderer and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-08-27 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents contemporary empirical methods in software engineering related to the plurality of research methodologies, human factors, data collection and processing, aggregation and synthesis of evidence, and impact of software engineering research. The individual chapters discuss methods that impact the current evolution of empirical software engineering and form the backbone of future research. Following an introductory chapter that outlines the background of and developments in empirical software engineering over the last 50 years and provides an overview of the subsequent contributions, the remainder of the book is divided into four parts: Study Strategies (including e.g. guidelines for surveys or design science); Data Collection, Production, and Analysis (highlighting approaches from e.g. data science, biometric measurement, and simulation-based studies); Knowledge Acquisition and Aggregation (highlighting literature research, threats to validity, and evidence aggregation); and Knowledge Transfer (discussing open science and knowledge transfer with industry). Empirical methods like experimentation have become a powerful means of advancing the field of software engineering by providing scientific evidence on software development, operation, and maintenance, but also by supporting practitioners in their decision-making and learning processes. Thus the book is equally suitable for academics aiming to expand the field and for industrial researchers and practitioners looking for novel ways to check the validity of their assumptions and experiences. Book Synopsis Formal Methods and Software Engineering by : Shaoying Liu
Download or read book Formal Methods and Software Engineering written by Shaoying Liu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2008-10-18 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Formal engineering methods are intended to o?er e?ective means for integ- tion of formal methods and practical software development technologies in the context of software engineering. Their purpose is to provide e?ective, rigorous, and systematic techniques for signi?cant improvement of software productivity, quality, and tool supportability. In comparison with formal methods, a distinct feature of formal engineering methods is that they emphasize the importance of the balance between the qualities of simplicity, visualization, and preciseness for practicality. To achieve this goal, formal engineering methods must be - veloped on the basis of both formal methods and existing software technologies in software engineering, and they must serve the improvement of the softwa- engineering process. ICFEM 2008 marks the tenth anniversary of the ?rst ICFEM conference, which was held in Hiroshima in 1997. It aims to bring together researchers and practitioners who are interested in the development and application of formal engineering methods to present their latest work and discuss future research directions. The conference o?ers a great opportunity for researchers in both formal methods and software engineering to exchange their ideas, experience, expectation and to ?nd out whether and how their research results can help advance the state of the art.

Download or read book Advances in Software Engineering written by Haeng-kon Kim and published by Springer. This book was released on 2010-11-26 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the Proceedings of the 2010 International Conference on Advanced Software Engineering and Its Applications (ASEA 2010) – one of the partnering events of the Second International Mega-Conference on Future Generation Information Technology (FGIT 2010). ASEA brings together researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of software engineering, including its links to computational sciences, mathematics and information technology. In total, 1,630 papers were submitted to FGIT 2010 from 30 countries, which includes 175 papers submitted to ASEA 2010. The submitted papers went through a rigorous reviewing process: 395 of the 1,630 papers were accepted for FGIT 2010, while 40 papers were accepted for ASEA 2010. Of the 640 papers were selected for the special FGIT 2010 volume published by Springer in the LNCS series. 32 papers are published in this volume, and 2 papers were withdrawn due to technical reasons. We would like to acknowledge the great effort of the ASEA 2010 International Advisory Board and members of the International Program Committee, as well as all the organizations and individuals who supported the idea of publishing this volume of proceedings, including SERSC and Springer. Also, the success of the conference would not have been possible without the huge support from our sponsors and the work of the Chairs and Organizing Committee.
