Dynamic fuzzy data are one of the most difficult types of data to analyse in the field of big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and quantum information. At present, the processing of this kind of data is not very mature. The authors carried out more than 20 years of research, and show in this book their most important results. The seven chapters of the book are devoted to key topics such as dynamic fuzzy machine learning models, dynamic fuzzy self-learning subspace algorithms, fuzzy decision tree learning, dynamic concepts based on dynamic fuzzy sets, semi-supervised multi-task learning based on dynamic fuzzy data, dynamic fuzzy hierarchy learning, examination of multi-agent learning model based on dynamic fuzzy logic. This book can be used as a reference book for senior college students and graduate students as well as college teachers and scientific and technical personnel involved in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, data analysis, mathematics, management, cognitive science, and finance. It can be also used as the basis for teaching the principles of dynamic fuzzy learning.

Book excerpt: Foundations of Computational Intelligence Volume 6: Data Mining: Theoretical Foundations and Applications Finding information hidden in data is as theoretically difficult as it is practically important. With the objective of discovering unknown patterns from data, the methodologies of data mining were derived from statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and are being used successfully in application areas such as bioinformatics, business, health care, banking, retail, and many others. Advanced representation schemes and computational intelligence techniques such as rough sets, neural networks; decision trees; fuzzy logic; evolutionary algorithms; arti- cial immune systems; swarm intelligence; reinforcement learning, association rule mining, Web intelligence paradigms etc. have proved valuable when they are - plied to Data Mining problems. Computational tools or solutions based on intel- gent systems are being used with great success in Data Mining applications. It is also observed that strong scientific advances have been made when issues from different research areas are integrated. This Volume comprises of 15 chapters including an overview chapter providing an up-to-date and state-of-the research on the applications of Computational Int- ligence techniques for Data Mining. The book is divided into 3 parts: Part-I: Data Click Streams and Temporal Data Mining Part-II: Text and Rule Mining Part-III: Applications Part I on Data Click Streams and Temporal Data Mining contains four chapters that describe several approaches in Data Click Streams and Temporal Data Mining.

Book excerpt: The Marktoberdorf Summer Schools on Informatics were started in 1970, with the intention to convene every second or third year a group of top researchers in computing, devoted to preach their most recent results to an elite of advanced students - young and most promising people - and prepared to stand their questions, criticism and suggestions. The themes of these Advanced Study In stitutes under the sponsorship of the NATO Scientific Affairs Division varied slightly over the years, oscillating more or less around Programming Methodo logy, as the following list shows: 1970 Data Structures and Computer Systems 1971 Program Structures and Fundamental Concepts of Programming 1973 Structured Programming and Programmed Structures 1975 Language Hierarchies and Interfaces 1978 Program Construction 1981 Theoretical Foundations of Programming Methodology 1984 Control Flow and Data Flow: Concepts of Distributed Programming 1986 Logic of Programming and Calculi of Discrete Design 1988 Constructive Methods in Computing Science 1989 Logic, Algebra, and Computation Logic, Algebra, and Computation is the theme of the summer school to which this volume is devoted. It is the tenth in succession, but it is also the first in a new series (the "blue" series) that is intended to alternate in future with the traditional (the "red" series) arrangement; in fact the tenth summer school in the "red" series with the title "Programming and Mathematical Method" , held in 1990, was the subject of celebrating both its serial number and the twenty years of Marktoberdorf Summer Schools altogether.

Book excerpt: Social navigation is an emerging field which examines how we navigate information or locate services in both real and virtual environments and how we interact with and use others to find our way in information spaces. It has led to new ways of thinking about how we design information spaces and how we address usability issues, particularly in collaborative, web-based systems. This book follows on from Munro et al, Social Navigation of Information Space, which was the first major work in this field. It provides a similar broad overview of the field, but is much more practical in focus.

Book excerpt: The Twelfth International Conference on Inductive Logic Programming was held in Sydney, Australia, July 9–11, 2002. The conference was colocated with two other events, the Nineteenth International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML2002) and the Fifteenth Annual Conference on Computational Learning Theory (COLT2002). Startedin1991,InductiveLogicProgrammingistheleadingannualforumfor researchers working in Inductive Logic Programming and Relational Learning. Continuing a series of international conferences devoted to Inductive Logic Programming and Relational Learning, ILP 2002 was the central event in 2002 for researchers interested in learning relational knowledge from examples. The Program Committee, following a resolution of the Community Me- ing in Strasbourg in September 2001, took upon itself the issue of the possible change of the name of the conference. Following an extended e-mail discussion, a number of proposed names were subjected to a vote. In the ?rst stage of the vote, two names were retained for the second vote. The two names were: Ind- tive Logic Programming, and Relational Learning. It had been decided that a 60% vote would be needed to change the name; the result of the vote was 57% in favor of the name Relational Learning. Consequently, the name Inductive Logic Programming was kept.
