Pronunciation will become a breeze and don't be surprised to hear even your youngest children picking up the catchy chants and songs. Each lesson (average length 15 minutes), corresponds to the weekly chapter in the Primer, and features Julia and her students chanting their weekly grammar charts and vocabulary, with visual images of the words. Following the vocabulary lesson, Julia Kraut carefully and thoroughly explains Spanish grammar, with the goal of teaching students to create their own sentences, and express exactly what they need to say, rather than simply mimicking common phrases.

In this rollicking picture book written by Barbara Jean Hicks and illustrated by Sue Hendra, monsters insist they don’t like broccoli. They’d rather snack on tractors or a rocket ship or two, or tender trailer tidbits, or a wheely, steely stew. But boy do those trees they’re munching on look an awful lot like broccoli. Maybe vegetables aren’t so bad after all! This hilarious book will have youngsters laughing out loud and craving healthy monster snacks of their own.

Book Synopsis Language Development and Disorders in Spanish-speaking Children by : Alejandra Auza Benavides
Download or read book Language Development and Disorders in Spanish-speaking Children written by Alejandra Auza Benavides and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-06-13 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prominent researchers from the US, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Spain contribute experimental reports on language development of children who are acquiring Spanish. The chapters cover a wide range of dimensions in acquisition: comprehension and production; monolingualism and bilingualism; typical development, children who are at risk and children with language disorders, phonology, semantics, and morphosyntax. These studies will inform linguistic theory development in clinical linguistics as well as offer insights on how language works in relation to cognitive functions that are associated with when children understand or use language. The unique data from child language offer perspectives that cannot be drawn from adult language. The first part is dedicated to the acquisition of Spanish as a first or second language by typically-developing children, the second part offers studies on children who are at risk of language delays, and the third part focuses on children with specific language impairment, disorders and syndromes.

Book Synopsis Women, Children, and the Collective Face of Conflict in Europe, 1900-1950 by : Nupur Chaudhuri
Download or read book Women, Children, and the Collective Face of Conflict in Europe, 1900-1950 written by Nupur Chaudhuri and published by Vernon Press. This book was released on 2023-10-17 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Europe was in turmoil during the first half of the twentieth century. The political stability that emanated from nineteenth-century political liberalism began to break down, reaching climaxes in the Great War, the Spanish Civil War, and the Second World War. Revolutions in Russia and Spain threatened parliamentary governments, and the Armenian genocide that began in 1915 foreshadowed the systematic destruction of European Jews in the 1930s and 1940s. Dictators seized power and established authoritarian regimes that stymied democratic expression and censored the press. Much of the scholarship on each of the conflicts has tended to focus on the military (male) and the civilian (female) binary. Women and children experienced every conflict during this tumultuous period as civilians, consumers, victims, exiles, and combatants. As histories of women and war suggest, there are exciting new areas of research and scholarship that resist simplistic binaries. Women were not simply civilians or victims. They were actors in the minutiae of wars, revolutions, dictatorships, and genocides. Children were present in these conflicts and not invisible, as many histories suggest. They too were actors and often politicized by propagandist literature and sectarian education through their own experiences and the politics of their families. This collection seeks to complicate the child/ adult distinction and examine the experiences of women and children as lenses to view a more collective face of conflict. While the volume brings to attention conflicts in Europe, the editors acknowledge the global ramifications of the revolutions, wars, and genocides, as well as the multitude of individual experiences. This collection seeks to expand understanding of the personal as the political in European conflicts from 1900-1950. We believe the focus on women and children offers a diverse perspective on five tumultuous decades of European history.
