Je nachdem, welche sozialen Positionen belegt werden, sind zwischen Menschen Gemeinsamkeiten, aber auch Unterschiede zu erkennen. Diese Verschiedenheiten lassen einen Menschen gegenüber anderen nicht hinsichtlich eines bestimmten einfachen Kriteriums unterschiedlich erscheinen, sondern auch "als besser- oder schlechter-, höher- oder tiefergestellt, bevorrechtigt oder benachteiligt". Diese Differenzierungen werden auch als "soziale Ungleichheiten" bezeichnet und sind vielerorts anzutreffen - auch an der Institution Schule. Eine Form der sozialen Ungleichheit an Schulen ist die sogenannte "Bildungsungleichheit". Daneben gibt es aber noch genug andere Ungleichheiten wie die migrationsbedingten. Dies soll aber nicht Thema meiner Arbeit sein. Viel mehr möchte ich herausfinden, ob Schulsozialarbeit als eine Maßnahme gegen soziale Ungleichheiten an Schulen einsetzbar ist.

Daraufhin erläutere ich, welche Maßnahmen die Schulsozialarbeit dagegen ergreift. Zum Schluss werde ich im Fazit meine Ergebnisse zusammenfassen und die Frage "Wie wirkt die Schulsozialarbeit der sozialen Ungleichheit an Schulen entgegen?" abschließend beantworten.

Moeller is the first historian of modern German women to use social policy as a lens to focus on society's conceptions of gender difference and "woman's place." He investigates the social, economic, and political status of women in West Germany after World War II to reveal how the West Germans, emerging from the rubble of the Third Reich, viewed a reconsideration of gender relations as an essential part of social reconstruction. The debate over "woman's place" in the fifties was part of West Germany's confrontation with the ideological legacy of National Socialism. At the same time, the presence of the Cold War influenced all debates about women and the family. In response to the "woman question," West Germans defined the boundaries not only between women and men, but also between East and West. Moeller's study shows that public policy is a crucial arena where women's needs, capacities, and possibilities are discussed, identified, defined, and reinforced. The volume shows how development practitioners and westernized elites/intellectuals are often complicit in this neo-colonial knowledge production. Noble gestures such as giving foreign aid or promoting participation and democracy frequently mask their institutional biases and economic and geopolitical interests, while silencing the subaltern (marginalized groups), on whose behalf they purportedly work. In response, the book argues for a radical ethical and political self-reflexivity that is vigilant to our reproduction of neo-colonialisms and amenable to public contestation of development priorities. It also underlines subaltern political strategies that can (and do) lead to greater democratic dialogue.

Within those changes, reforms do not go ‘as planned’ but, as is always the case with processes of rationali- tion, have a series of unintended effects. At the same time it becomes incre- ingly clear who in this process are the winners and who are the losers, although this is still subject to fluctuation and change. This can be illustrated by two - amples from current events: Where the range of taught courses is concerned, as part of the Bologna Process the new structuring of student study paths and their organisation is aimed at unifying the European area of science to ensure a study that is equally permissive and efficient. However, it is to be deplored that the mobility of s- dents has become more restricted because of an increasing specialisation in the available study paths. Also, bachelor degrees do not meet with the anticipated high response from the labour market in all countries, so that the master’s degree is becoming more or less a ‘must’, while at the same time the number of study places on master’s courses is limited. Instead of the intended reduction in the duration of study time in comparison to the previous German ‘Magister’ and ‘Diplom’, rather a prolongation in the duration of studies has been recorded.
