Book Synopsis Kinetic Models of Catalytic Reactions by : G.S. Yablonskii
Download or read book Kinetic Models of Catalytic Reactions written by G.S. Yablonskii and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1991-04-17 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book has been written by a group of mathematicians and chemists whose common interest is in the complex dynamics of catalytic reactions. Based on developments in mathematical chemistry, a general theory is described that allows the investigation of the relationships between the kinetic characteristics of complex reactions and their detailed reaction mechanism. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis is made of some typical mechanism of catalytic reactions, in particular for the oxidation of carbon monoxide on platinum metals. In fact, the book presents three kinetics: (a) detailed, oriented to the elucidation of a detailed reaction mechanism according to its kinetic laws; (b) applied, with the aim of obtaining kinetic relationships for the further design of chemical reactors; and (c) mathematical kinetics whose purpose is the analysis of mathematical models for heterogeneous catalytic reactions taking place under steady- or unsteady-state conditions.

Book Synopsis Kinetics of Chemical Reactions by : Guy B. Marin
Download or read book Kinetics of Chemical Reactions written by Guy B. Marin and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-08-29 with total page 451 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This systematic presentation covers both experimental and theoretical kinetic methods, as well as fundamental and applied. The identification of dominant reaction paths, reaction intermediates and rate-determining steps allows a quantification of the effects of reaction conditions and catalyst properties, providing guidelines for catalyst optimization. In addition, the form in which the equations are presented allows for their straightforward implementation for scale-up and chemical reactor design purposes. Throughout, the methodologies given are illustrated by many examples.
Book Synopsis Principles and Methods for Accelerated Catalyst Design and Testing by : E.G. Derouane

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High throughput experimentation has met great success in drug design but it has, so far, been scarcely used in the field ofcatalysis. We present in this book the outcome of a NATO ASI meeting that was held in Vilamoura, Portugal, between July 15 and 28, 2001, with the objective of delineating and consolidating the principles and methods underpinning accelerated catalyst design, evaluation, and development. There is a need to make the underlying principles of this new methodology more widely understood and to make it available in a coherent and integrated format. The latter objective is particularly important to the young scientists who will constitute the new catalysis researchers generation. Indeed, this field which is at the frontier offundamental science and may be a renaissance for catalysis, is one which is much more complex than classical catalysis itself. It implies a close collaboration between scientists from many disciplines (chemistry, physics, chemical and mechanical engineering, automation, robotics, and scientific computing in general). In addition, this emerging area of science is also of paramount industrial importance, as progress in this area would collapse the time necessary to discover new catalysts or improve existing ones.

Book Synopsis Elimination Methods in Polynomial Computer Algebra by : V. Bykov
Download or read book Elimination Methods in Polynomial Computer Algebra written by V. Bykov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subject of this book is connected with a new direction in mathematics, which has been actively developed over the last few years, namely the field of polynomial computer algebra, which lies at the intersection point of algebra, mathematical analysis and programming. There were several incentives to write the book. First of all, there has lately been a considerable interest in applied nonlinear problems characterized by multiple sta tionary states. Practical needs have then in their turn led to the appearance of new theoretical results in the analysis of systems of nonlinear algebraic equations. And finally, the introduction of various computer packages for analytic manipulations has made it possible to use complicated elimination-theoretical algorithms in prac tical research. The structure of the book is accordingly represented by three main parts: Mathematical results driven to constructive algorithms, computer algebra realizations of these algorithms, and applications. Nonlinear systems of algebraic equations arise in diverse fields of science. In particular, for processes described by systems of differential equations with a poly nomial right hand side one is faced with the problem of determining the number (and location) of the stationary states in certain sets.

The authors present the classification of basic models of chemical kinetics, thermokinetics and macrokinetics, as well as their application for the most important chemical transformations, such as combustion and catalysis. Readers will find a detailed description and analysis of different mathematical instruments which can be applied for simulation of reaction dynamics.
Book Synopsis Chemical Reaction Networks by : Oleg N. Temkin
Download or read book Chemical Reaction Networks written by Oleg N. Temkin and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-07-24 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the last decade, increased attention to reaction dynamics, combined with the intensive application of computers in chemical studies, mathematical modeling of chemical processes, and mechanistic studies has brought graph theory to the forefront of research. It offers an advanced and powerful formalism for the description of chemical reactions and their intrinsic reaction mechanisms. Chemical Reaction Networks: A Graph-Theoretical Approach elegantly reviews and expands upon graph theory as applied to mechanistic theory, chemical kinetics, and catalysis. The authors explore various graph-theoretical approaches to canonical representation, numbering, and coding of elementary steps and chemical reaction mechanisms, the analysis of their topological structure, the complexity estimation, and classification of reaction mechanisms. They discuss topologically distinctive features of multiroute catalytic and noncatalytic and chain reactions involving metal complexes. With it's careful balance of clear language and mathematical rigor, the presentation of the authors' significant original work, and emphasis on practical applications and examples, Chemical Reaction Networks: A Graph Theoretical Approach is both an outstanding reference and valuable tool for chemical research.
