Book Synopsis Softly Now the Trumpet by : Francis J. Connelly
Download or read book Softly Now the Trumpet written by Francis J. Connelly and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-04-10 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Listen carefully. Do you hear it? Ever so low; so low you can hardly perceive the sound. But if you have ears to hear, a small smile will soon invade your frown. As the trumpet sounds, just a little bit louder, the smile grows commensurately, and you wait with anxious joy for that day; the day when the angels of God blow a thousand trumpets announcing the second coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth The Christ. This book is devoted to telling the story of the role played by trumpets as revealed in sacred Scripture. And as that story unfolds, our endeavor will be to recognize and emphasize those occasions when trumpets are significantly associated with important biblical themes and truths, particularly if these themes and truths tend to lead us to a fuller understanding and appreciation of our God Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Book Synopsis Trumpet Folk Fill in the Blank by : Eddie Lewis
Download or read book Trumpet Folk Fill in the Blank written by Eddie Lewis and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-10-30 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book of its kind! What began as a fun activity for my trumpet students has turned into a wonderful resource to improve their trumpet playing. Trumpet Folk Fill in the Blank is a book of thirty folk songs and nursery rhymes. Each song is presented first in an easy key, like C, F or G. Then it is transposed to other keys and certain strategic notes are left out. Those notes are replaced by question marks. The students are to practice the first version of the song until they get the sound of the melody in their ears. After they master the first version, then they are ready to play the "fill in the blank" versions of the songs in other keys. We use a total of seven key signatures in this book, up to three flats and three sharps. Any student who knows their scales up to three flats and three sharps should have a lot of fun playing these "fill in the blank" songs. Benefits of playing the "fill in the blank" songs include ear training, finger technique, sight reading, phrasing and tone.
Book Synopsis Hungarian Poetry (Folk, Classical and Modern) in English by : Frank Veszely
Download or read book Hungarian Poetry (Folk, Classical and Modern) in English written by Frank Veszely and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2023-11-17 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An accomplished poet and the author of Canadian Hungarian Literature (1897 - 2017), Frank Veszely brings to the English reader the rich treasure-house of folk, classical, and modern Hungarian poetry (1000 - 2020). The translations read as if they have been done by the original poets, preserving not only their original inspiration and content, but the form, the rhythm and the rhyme patterns of the originals, a feat thought to be impossible by many, but here they are: as fresh as the ink has not dried on them yet. From the poems emerges a nation’s love of freedom with the breath and depth of humanity impossible not to respond to.

Book Synopsis The War Trumpet by : Emiro Martínez-Osorio
Download or read book The War Trumpet written by Emiro Martínez-Osorio and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2023-03-30 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The epic poems written during the rise of Portugal and Spain on the global stage often dealt with topics quite unimaginable to the likes of Virgil or Homer. These poems reveal the astounding opportunities for upward social mobility and self-promotion afforded by broader access to print and the vast amount of knowledge and material wealth accrued through maritime exploration. Iberian poets of the period were quite cognizant of their ventures into uncharted territory, and that awareness informed their literary journeys. The War Trumpet features nine substantial essays that expand our understanding of Iberian Renaissance epic poetry by posing questions seldom raised in relation to poems such as La Araucana, Os Lusíadas, Carlo famoso, El Bernardo, Arauco Domado, Espejo de paciencia, and Felicissima Victoria, among others. Particularly compelling are questions concerned with early modern understandings of the natural world, the practice of poetic imitation, the discipline of cartography, or the reception of Petrarchism in the newly established viceroyalties of the New World. Fostering a greater appreciation of the intersection between poetry, war, and exploration, The War Trumpet sheds light on the transformative changes that took place during the period of Iberian expansion.
