Are you worried that God has forgotten you? If you're like many people, you no doubt have anxious moments. Just as Jesus faced his emotional distress head on by challenging every poisonous thought and feeling, you must so the same. What if you give God the next forty days of your life to find peace in the chaos? You can live unstoppable. When fear holds on tight, remember God travels broken roads looking for those crushed in spirit. Wounded hearts on winding backstreets call to him. He cannot stay away. Like a storm chaser, he runs into your tornado. It's your broken heart and crushed spirit that he can't resist. Drawing inspiration from the last three hours Jesus hung on the cross, best-selling author and pastor Larry Dugger sheds lights on what to do when you feel trapped in a dark place. You can trust God with the impossible. This forty-day action plan is designed to move you away from anxiety, worry, and emotional distress. It's time for you to stop seeking the predictable in times of crisis. God is not predictable. He is so much more than stained glass. He is creative, wild, and free to do as he wishes.

Book Synopsis Forging Unshakeable Faith by : Lincoln Tom
Download or read book Forging Unshakeable Faith written by Lincoln Tom and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2003-04-21 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "How can you say God is faithful?" I asked Mindy. For in one week, she lost her mother, boyfriend, job, and roommate. Then, among several other crises, counseling revealed her stepfather had molested her as a young child. Mindy's cumulative Holmes-Rahe score for stress easily exceeded 100. Yet with peaceful hope in her voice she answered, "Because He is."Everyone, though perhaps less dramatically, faces tragedies. And Mindy, through hers, taught me that how one perseveres through them depends a great deal on one's perspective-what one believes. Mindy knew she wasn't alone, because she understood that no matter what happened, God was with her. She knew it within her very core of being-her faith was unshakeable.Mindy didn't give a particular reason for her faith. Apparently, over time God had proven Himself in the small things. Great faith doesn't necessarily come from one awe-inspiring event, but through a multitude of little lessons learned along the way. However, even though many find inspiration in the lives of others; most, also, require objective evidence. Indeed, this type of evidence continues to grow with numerous discoveries regarding the Dead Sea Scrolls, history, astronomy, and archeology, among others. Thus, this book examines how this information can help forge the kind of faith Mindy has-the unshakeable kind.
Book Synopsis Developing Life-Changing Faith by : Carole Haygood
Download or read book Developing Life-Changing Faith written by Carole Haygood and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-01-04 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Developing Life-Changing Faith contains the spiritual teachings from a 7-year journey to developing the faith that changed my life. This journey started when I accidentally used faith to be healed from an infirmity that plagued me for many years. Questioning how this miracle happened, in this age, I turned to the unused pages of my Bible to find my answer. I saw what I had accidentally done that spurred the miracle, and the simple requirement hidden in plain sight, in its pages. Over the following year, the Spirit showed me misconceptions that blocked my ability to develop and use faith, and showed me the common things I did that made it impossible for God to answer my prayers, essentially tying Gods hands against me. Then I was taught what the foundation of faith really isthe key or seed of faithexplaining why knowing this key is vitally important to develop the kind of faith illustrated in Bible stories. Through the subsequent years, I was taught about the things for which we could pray and the things for which we should not pray, and why; the truth about tests of our faith, why they are necessary, why we should watch for them, and how to pass them every time; and how to use faith correctly, highlighting biblical keys to give a complete understanding about faith. Developing Life-Changing Faith will give the readers the same teachings, understandings, tools, keys, and corrections, to develop the faith that will change their lives. It will lead them from feeling that their faith is not working, to fully understanding how to develop and correctly use faith, which will truly change their lives.

Download or read book Shaky Ground written by Hadley Hoover and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2007-05-01 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: They met when they were both in diapers. Cory Whipple was the "boy next door" who became the love of Bibs Johnson's life. Cory proposed when they were 6 years old, Bibs accepted, and they never changed their minds. Then came The Sixties. Cory, raised by two maiden aunts to think independently, balked when his country demanded actions and attitudes of him that he could not give. Bibs supported his radical decision and that's when things got shaky. Bibs' father was part of The Greatest Generation-proud to do his Duty. Ed Johnson saw Cory in an entirely different light than Bibs did. A fault line formed between father and daughter-a fissure so deep, Bibs wondered if it could ever be bridged, even by a engineer like Cory who specializes in building bridges.
Book Synopsis Faith in the Inferno by : Elise Monet
Download or read book Faith in the Inferno written by Elise Monet and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2024-10-28 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a wilderness journey of extraordinary joy and suffering, Elise Monet takes readers to realms beyond ordinary human consciousness where forces of good and evil are arresting, undeniable, and more convincing than earthly reality. From an exquisite foretaste of heavenly bliss to the horrifying specter of perdition, Monet is driven along a path of love and terror that shatters her worldview and transforms her understanding of spiritual reality. Faith in the Inferno unravels three decades of seeing visions and hearing voices, which severely test the author’s faith and sanity. In explicit detail, she describes her visions, what voices say, and her struggle to make sense of them. Monet addresses problems with conventional treatment of schizophrenia, which ignores the meaning and reality of spiritual voices. She sheds light on historical accounts of voice-hearers, how and why spiritual forces may intercede in a person’s life, the delight and agony such experiences bring, discerning truth from deceit, and the importance of finding coping mechanisms. Having broad appeal and practical value at the intersection of culture, faith, and psychosis, this memoir offers an inspirational testimony about how God speaks through suffering to save us. After documenting her terrifying dark night of the soul, Monet leads readers to a place of love, hope, and healing.
Book Synopsis How to Shake the Unshakable by the True Anointing by : The Glory of God
Download or read book How to Shake the Unshakable by the True Anointing written by The Glory of God and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2015-07-06 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revival is the powerful answer to destroy all that belongs to the devil and to stay connected directly to the Holy Spirit. Im not speaking of imitation--yelling or dancing and singing chaotically, but accepting the instruction of God according Proverb 8: 10-11: Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. We have to pay the price by rejecting the foolishness of this world and following the principles of the Spirit. When our hearts are full of love for this worldly system I tell you that we will be the enemies of God. 1 John 2: 15-16 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the worldthe love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. We must, first of all, be filled with the Holy Spirit and get connected with the entire instruction of God to be impacted continually by the true anointing. If we are filled with the world we will supposedly bring the people likewise to Jesus-- like the pagan who wants to convert other pagans using worldly instructions. The zeal to pray and to testify has to be in our daily program, manifesting a strong love for Jesus, having compassion for the lost. Here we have to give up all selfish ambition and the condemnation of the law and tradition. We are not in competition with others but we are pleasing God in our speech and our actions. Apostle Paul said in 1Cor 2: 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of mans wisdom, but by demonstration of the Spirit and of power; that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. At this time people are imitating a style of preaching designed to please the flesh and emotions. But we have to know that if the message cannot touch our hearts for change and for repentance, there is a short circuit in what we receive. Christians have to schedule enough time to pray and fast, to kill the influence of the flesh inside them and to become sensitive to the Holy Ghost. Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts (Zech 4: 6). The time of ignorance is over, the time of religion is over. This is the time of revival and it will be done by people who decide to give their hearts to the gospel of Christ, surrendering all to Jesus. These are people who pray earnestly and who have enough time to spend with the Lord; reading the Bible and other books of revivalists like CHARLES FINNEY, WIGGLESWORTH, T.L. OSBORN. BONNKE, RAHA MUGISHO, KARAMBIRI, BENSON IDAHOSA and others of Gods vessels.

Book Synopsis Shaking the World for Jesus by : Heather Hendershot
Download or read book Shaking the World for Jesus written by Heather Hendershot and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2010-03-15 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1999, the Reverend Jerry Falwell outed Tinky-Winky, the purple character from TV's Teletubbies. Events such as this reinforced in many quarters the common idea that evangelicals are reactionary, out of touch, and just plain paranoid. But reducing evangelicals to such caricatures does not help us understand their true spiritual and political agendas and the means they use to advance them. Shaking the World for Jesus moves beyond sensationalism to consider how the evangelical movement has effectively targeted Americans—as both converts and consumers—since the 1970s. Thousands of products promoting the Christian faith are sold to millions of consumers each year through the Web, mail order catalogs, and even national chains such as Kmart and Wal-Mart. Heather Hendershot explores in this book the vast industry of film, video, magazines, and kitsch that evangelicals use to spread their message. Focusing on the center of conservative evangelical culture—the white, middle-class Americans who can afford to buy "Christian lifestyle" products—she examines the industrial history of evangelist media, the curious subtleties of the products themselves, and their success in the religious and secular marketplace. To garner a wider audience, Hendershot argues, evangelicals have had to carefully temper their message. But in so doing, they have painted themselves into a corner. In the postwar years, evangelical media wore the message of salvation on its sleeve, but as the evangelical media industry has grown, many of its most popular products have been those with heavily diluted Christian messages. In the eyes of many followers, the evangelicals who purvey such products are sellouts—hucksters more interested in making money than spreading the word of God. Working to understand evangelicalism rather than pass judgment on it, Shaking the World for Jesus offers a penetrating glimpse into a thriving religious phenomenon.
