Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There's a little more than meets the eye when making the transition from 6 to 7-string guitar. Reference books for the 7-string guitar have their uses but what's lacking is an actual method for applying and transferring what you already know to this new instrument. This book goes beyond the limits of a reference book to provide you with a complete system for learning and/or transferring scales, arpeggios, chords and triads to the 7-string fretboard, in any key. This book is for guitarists who: -Want to understand how scales, chords, arpeggios and triads work on a 7-string guitar. -Are looking for a 7-string guitar method, not a reference book. -Already have a good knowledge of theory and want to transfer it to the 7-string guitar. -Are making the transition from 6 to 7 strings. -Feel that the 7-string guitar hasn't quite 'clicked' for them yet. In Book 1 we cover: -The major and natural minor scales. -The major and minor pentatonic scales. -The blues scale. -Diatonic 7th arpeggios. -Triads and triad arpeggios. -Diatonic chords.

Download or read book Guitar Hacks written by Graham Tippett and published by Graham Tippett. This book was released on 2017-04-16 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 3NPS (three-note-per-string) scales, as used by legions of guitarists but popularized mainly by Joe Satriani, are one of the most efficient ways to navigate the fretboard and get your scales down IF you follow the guidelines in this book. As the name suggests, a 3NPS scale is any scale that contains three notes on each string, and as you'll see in this eBook, this makes for a very consistent way to map out scales on the guitar fretboard. What we’ve done here is revamped the 3NPS scale system and turned it into an incredibly effective means to learn a wide variety of scales all over the fretboard by streamlining the number of patterns, as well as the picking system. This is not a scale theory book, and contains no pentatonic scales. This is a quick and dirty (and very effective) method for learning 3NPS scales all over the fretboard; something to work on in the woodshed. It will improve your picking technique and speed. It does not require a great amount of thinking as you only need to learn two picking patterns, which is really one in two directions, and only three scale patterns instead of the usual seven per scale.

Download or read book Clapton's Guitar written by Allen St. John and published by Free Press. This book was released on 2006-06-06 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Allen St. John started off looking for the world’s greatest guitar, but what he found instead was the world’s greatest guitar builder. Living and working in Rugby, Virginia (population 7), retired rural mail carrier Wayne Henderson is a true American original, making America's finest instruments using little more than a pile of good wood and a sharp whittling knife. There's a 10-year waiting list for Henderson's heirloom acoustic guitars—and even a musical legend like Eric Clapton must wait his turn. Partly out of self-interest, St. John prods Henderson into finally building Clapton's guitar, and soon we get to pull up a dusty stool and watch this Stradivari in glue-stained blue jeans work his magic. The story that ensues will captivate you with its portrait of a world where craftsmanship counts more than commerce, and time is measured by old jokes, old-time music, and homemade lemon pies shared by good friends.
