Gole and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A variety of high temperature techniques are applied to the study of visible chemiluminescent phenomena over the pressure range .000001 to 100 torr in order to assess the applicability of several reaction systems for the development of visible Chemicals lasers. Efforts have focused on selective formation of excited electronic states, the nature of electronic state interactions and the behavior of these states over a wide pressure range. In studying chemiluminescent spectra, efforts have concentrated on the determination of activation energies for excited state formation, the determination of excited state quantum yields, the determination of approximate radiative lifetimes for long-lived states, the assessment of rapid energy transfer routes among excited electronic states and the analysis of collisional quenching. Promising systems have been and are being explored in an exploding wire laser system. (Author).

Book Synopsis Energy Transfer Processes of Relevance to Chemically and Optically Pumped Lasers by :
Download or read book Energy Transfer Processes of Relevance to Chemically and Optically Pumped Lasers written by and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spectroscopic properties of gas phase transition metal oxides and fluorides were investigated using experimental and theoretical techniques. High resolution electronic spectra were recorded for the molecules UO, CeO, GdO, TiO, ZrO, HfO, ScF, YF, and LaF. These data were used to test and develop ligand field theory models for the low-lying electronic states of lanthanide and actinide compounds. Ligand field calculations were used to predict the properties of the elusive UO+ ion.

This book was released on 1994 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The relaxation dynamics of vibrationally excited levels of 12(X) are of relevance to the chemical oxygen iodine laser (COIL). Rotational and vibrational energy transfer rate constants have been measured for selected levels with v">20. The collision partners He, Ar, I2,Cl2, 02, and H20 were investigated. A numerical model that relates state-to-state energy transfer rate constants to I2+ deactivation processes in COIL has been developed. The results for H2O show that the true deactivation rate constant is about an order of magnitude smaller than the estimate used in current computer simulations of COIL systems. Energy transfer from 02(a1A) and I(2P1/2) to 12(X) has been investigated. The nascent vibrational distribution resulting from I(2Pl/2)+I2(X) collisions was characterized, and improved spectroscopic constants for the D state of I2 are reported. Jet-cooling and emission spectroscopy techniques have been used to characterize the D'(2)-A'(2) and Beta(l)-A(l) ion-pair to valence state transitions of iodine monobromide.
Book Synopsis Investigation of Plasma Processes in Electronic Transition Lasers by : William L. Nighan
Download or read book Investigation of Plasma Processes in Electronic Transition Lasers written by William L. Nighan and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Plasma processes in electrically excited rare gas-halide lasers have been investigated theoretically, with particular emphasis on the KrF system. These studies have resulted in the identification of fundamental processes influencing electron energy transfer, charged particle production and loss, metastable production and loss, and plasma stability. Both electron beam pumped and discharge pumped lasers have been examined. In addition, resonance scattering theory has been applied to available e-F2 attachment data in order to determine electron cross-sections for F2 dissociative attachment and vibrational excitation. Estimates of direct electron impact dissociation of F2 have also been made. (Author).

Book Synopsis Electronic Transition Lasers II by : Leroy E. Wilson
Download or read book Electronic Transition Lasers II written by Leroy E. Wilson and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The proceedings of the Third Summer Colloquium on Electronic Transition Lasers, held in September 1976, are being brought together in ELECTRONIC TRANSITION LASERS II. As in previous years, the colloquium concentrates on rare-gas-halide excimer lasers and chemiluminescent reactions of potential laser utility; metal vapor systems and optically pumped diatomic lasers also received attention. Contrary to previous colloquia, in this volume less emphasis is placed on the exploration of new systems and more on quantitative gain measurements and modelling. These fifty papers have been grouped into five parts: (1) Rare Gases, Oxides, and Halides; (2) Chemiluminescent Systems; (3) Metal Vapors; (4) Halogen and Chalcogen Systems; and (5) Other Potential Laser Systems.
