Tamdgidi and published by Ahead Publishing House (imprint: Okcir Press). This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Omar Khayyam’s Secret: Hermeneutics of the Robaiyat in Quantum Sociological Imagination is a twelve-book series of which this book is the third volume, subtitled Khayyami Astronomy: How Omar Khayyam’s Newly Discovered True Birth Date Horoscope Reveals the Origins of His Pen Name and Independently Confirms His Authorship of the Robaiyat. Each book is independently readable, although it will be best understood as a part of the whole series. In the overall series, the transdisciplinary sociologist Mohammad H. Tamdgidi shares the results of his decades-long research on Omar Khayyam, the enigmatic 11th/12th centuries Persian Muslim sage, philosopher, astronomer, mathematician, physician, writer, and poet from Neyshabour, Iran, whose life and works still remain behind a veil of deep mystery. Tamdgidi’s purpose has been to find definitive answers to the many puzzles still surrounding Khayyam, especially regarding the existence, nature, and purpose of the Robaiyat in his life and works. To explore the questions posed, he advances a new hermeneutic method of textual analysis, informed by what he calls the quantum sociological imagination, to gather and study all the attributed philosophical, religious, scientific, and literary writings of Khayyam. Omar Khayyam’s true birth date horoscope, as newly discovered in this series, is comprised of a dazzling number of Air Triplicities sharing a vertex on a Sun-Mercury Cazimi point on the same Ascendant degree 18 of Gemini. Among other features, his Venus, Sextile with Moon, also plays a lifelong, secretively creative role to intentionally balance his chart. These features would not have escaped the attention of Omar Khayyam, a master astronomer and expert in matters astrological, no matter how much he embraced, doubted, or rejected astrological interpretations. In this third book of the series, conducting an in-depth hermeneutic analysis of Khayyam’s horoscope, Tamdgidi reports having discovered the origins of Khayyam’s pen name in his horoscope. The long-held myth that “Khayyam” was a parental name, even if true, in no way takes away from the new finding; it only adds to its intrigue. Tamdgidi’s hermeneutic analysis of Khayyam’s horoscope in intersection with extant Khayyami Robaiyat also leads him to discover an entirely neglected signature quatrain that he proves could not be from anyone but Khayyam, one that provides a reliably independent confirmation of his authorship of the Robaiyat. He also shows how another neglected quatrain reporting its poet to have aged to a hundred is from Khayyam. This means all the extant Khayyami quatrains are now in need of hermeneutic reevaluation. Tamdgidi’s further study of a sample of fifty Khayyami Robaiyat leads him to conclude that their poet definitively intended the poems to remain in veil, that they were considered to be a collection of interrelated quatrains and not sporadic separate quatrains written marginally in pastime, that they were meant to offer a life’s intellectual journey as in a “book of life,” that the poems’ critically nuanced engagement with astrology was not incidental but essential throughout the collection, and that, judging from the signature quatrain discovered, 1000 quatrains were intended to comprise the collection. Oddly it appears that, after all, “The Khayyam who stitched his tents of wisdom” was a trope that had its origins in Omar Khayyam’s horoscope heavens. The book highlights the symbolic value of the film’s construction of transnational youth in the building of a trans-European culture. Engaging with the film’s critical history, this book focuses on its specific view of youth and young love. Before Sunrise: Young Love on the Move examines young love within the cultural context of the 1990s in the US and its links with Generation X and the slacker culture. Within a wider scope, it also looks at the history and theory of romantic comedy and its connections with independent cinema. In considering the film a transnational text, this analysis underlines the parallels between a narrative of young love at the end of the 20th century and the construction of a young, or rejuvenated, Europe. Before Sunrise: Young Love on the Move provides an invaluable insight into this beloved film for students and researchers in film studies, transnational cinema and youth culture.

Book excerpt: In a deserted area high in the Peruvian Andes, machete swinging thugs drag California engineer Frank Anderson out of a Jeep, beat him savagely, and leave him for dead. Four days later, masked men kidnap his wife, Joanna, who has rushed to his side in the hospital. The lives of their two little daughters are also in jeopardy. Frank is not just an unlucky run-of-the-mill tourist robbed for his money. He leads the installation of a solar project launched by an American oil company at a copper mine in the Peruvian mountains. Frank harbors a gnawing suspicion that he might be a tool of oilmen in his own company who want to create a façade of openness to solar energy. But as his list of suspects grows to include diesel tanker drivers, tribal leaders, and politicians, Frank soon realizes that the entire oil supply chain, stretching from the Peruvian mine to the corporate offices of Peruvian and American companies, appears suspicious. He must find the culprits before it is too late. Birds Sing before Sunrise is the compelling tale of drama in the Peruvian Andes as solar pioneers battle the money and power of big oil, placing the lives of an American couple and their children directly in the crossfire.

Book excerpt: When a tragic mountain-climbing accident left business professor Denis Shackel stranded on Mount Ruapehu in New Zealand, he turned to the leadership principles he’d been teaching for years to survive the longest night of his life. Alone, with temperatures plunging to -30 degrees Celsius, Shackel managed to stay alive. He broke the night into five thousand five-second intervals, and chose to deal with only one interval at a time -- a strategy based on the effective leaders’ practice of breaking big challenges into smaller, more manageable ones. Shackel emerged from this harrowing experience having cemented his belief that the principles fundamental to leadership are also the key to tackling any challenge. Since then, he has been helping students, executives and corporations use the proven “five seconds at a time” approach to achieve success in business and in life. At a time when many leaders are feeling overwhelmed, Five Seconds at a Time provides effective tools and strategies to excel. With its compelling mix of survival stories, leadership principles and inspiring case studies, this book will inspire readers to achieve the seemingly impossible.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just Before Sunrise, as the fog lifts from the pool, the light reveals the tapered backs of male swimmers in Speedos concluding their morning workout. Nicky O’Hare, a promising freshman recruited to the Tampa Bay University swim team, shows promise both in and out of the pool. The lean Irish kid with the ‘boy-next-door’ good looks from Brandy, South Dakota, is likely the most talented swimmer on the team. Ready to experience all that college life offers, Nicky has even put finding a boyfriend on his wish list. Coach Phillip Silva, a former Olympic swimmer with a once-impressive swimming career, has recruited Nicky to rebuild the University’s failing swim program. Focused on the upcoming season, Phillip’s real challenge will be keeping his secrets and demons submerged below the surface. All seems well until one night when Nicky and Phillip end up at the same Fourth of July celebration. With fireworks in the sky, the hot and humid night reveals the attraction between the two. But can these boundaries be crossed? Suddenly forced to reevaluate his life, Phillip is faced with the moral dilemma of discovering true love with the University’s rising star. Before Sunrise presents a story of friendships, love, complicated relationships, and deception woven into a hard-earned happily-ever-after. Bryan T. Clark, author of Ancient House of Cards, has again masterfully crafted a romance where the fine line between right and wrong must be resolved for love to survive.
